I started reading Zoo City last month, and I was so disappointed that I did when I saw this challenge-- it's really good, and I would've loved to read it for the main-character-with-a-pet challenge!

I was actually super glad to see that category because I've included Zoo City for the last few challenges, and it always seems to get bumped for something else...With the YoYo option guilting me on another book too, I should definitely finish it this time!

The Yo-Yo Day challenge is looking excellent for self-guilt! (My choice for that is a book I've had on my shelf for... four years? and never quite made it to. The odds that it'll get bumped off entirely for something else are quite high.)
Zoo City is really good, though, and I think you'll like it. It took me a little bit to get into it, but I'm enjoying it!

Don't worry, Summer! I think all of us have the "is it UF?" discussion at least once a week. It's so easy to debate whether something is UF, Horror, Paranormal, Paranormal Romance...My personal opinion (and others can feel free to disagree) is that as long as you're having fun with the challenge, that's what really matters :)

I also realized I was ahead of myself for the Parasol Protectorate series and actually read Blameless by Gail Carriger (book three) instead of Heartless (book four) as I thought was going to be the case.
I'm now up to 5/9 and have updated the original post.

My April Fool's Day entry caught me completely by surprise. I was just reading it to get to my choice for UF with animal side-kick choice, and I found myself laughing out loud every other page!
