I stopped doing that because other librarians were recombining them before someone could get to them, not knowing why they'd been separated.

Started adding a note saying SEPARATED PENDING DELETE, PLEASE DON'T RECOMBINE. In capitals. Seems to be working so far... :)

Megan (megan-no-h) | 15 comments Hi There! This erroneous copy of Once Upon A Time In The North needs deleting by a super librarian. It should not be merged with the main entry, because it’s NOT a different edition. You can see that the ISBN listed is actually just the first 10 numbers of the real book’s ISBN-13. So yeah, not a real edition and shouldn’t be merged. (Not sure if there’s a way to move over the one person who added it…)

This entry also created an incorrect author page for Pullman, Philip, but I assume that go away along with the book? Thanks!

It didn't actually need a super. For future reference, what needs to happen is as follows:

1) Merge authors.
2) Combine the incorrect edition with the edition to be merged with. If it's not the default edition, this will mean separating it out from any others.
3) Delete (merge) the incorrect edition. This will move over any shelvings to the edition you have combined it with. If there are more than 5, this step requires a superlibrarian.
4) If you separated in step 2, recombine.

Stefan Meyer | 6 comments Help! I need to delete a book. I think what happened is that by mistake I imported the electronic edition as well as the paperback edition into Goodreads. Now the book is showing up as available on SONY Reader Store. This conflicts with the terms of my agreement with KDP Select. Stephan, Goodreads is more like a library than a bookstore, and we don't delete published books from our database. Since we don't sell books, having it here shouldn't be a problem re KDP anyway. You need to contact the Sony ebookstore about their listing.

That's an alternate-cover edition. I reverted your cover changes on the other edition, setting its cover back to the original image.

Hi, Rivka. OK. I called the SONY ebookstore, and they said they'd take care of it. I also e-mailed Smashwords, which is apparently where this problem originated. I'm new to Goodreads and just getting the hang of what it's all about. Since I'm communicating with you, I have another query. When I search my own name, Stefan G. Meyer, on Goodreads I get the four books that I've put on my author profile, but there's a fifth book that shows up, Regelungssysteme für informationelle Güter - Urheberrecht in der digitalen Zukunft
by Steffen Albrecht, Daniel Dietrich, Till Kreutzer, which has nothing to do with me and doesn't even show anyone else with my name as an author. Can this be rectified somehow? Thanks, Stefan
