Hey, I'm Melissa. I read all books but I really enjoy books with lessons for life. I'm now reading Beastly by Alex Flinn. Just started it!
I've always been one of those readers who prefers an author's books over his/her bio. And with that in mind, I'll spare you the boring personal details and introduce myself with brief piece from the book that I'm currently working on.forethought
The measure of the written word
Is but a fleeting flower —
’Tis only through thy gentle prism,
In this precious hour,
From whence it gains and so sustains
Its everlasting power.
What breeds and bleeds between these lines
(Those seeds of my creation)
Upon this sheet whose careful stains,
Once laid with trepidation,
Yet breathe and seethe with but a wish:
To spur imagination.
And yet before the grandest thoughts,
Within and overfilling,
Can be reduced to simple words
Whose measure remains thrilling,
The question begs: are yet these thoughts
A drop of ink worth spilling?
Words that I try to live by every time I pick up my pen.
Send me a friend request, if you like (I don't have any tricky questions for you to answer — I'll just blindly trust that your a book lover ;-)
I am the author of:

I do like the poem. :)
I have a few friends that like to read, but they either don't read very much or don't discuss books with me.
^im not sure I literally just started. I'm on page 4. I think it might be a retelling. It was made into a movie and I really want to see it!
