It's coming out next week?
You wouldn't happen to know when Retribution comes out in paperback, would you?

It usually take almost a year for the paperback to come out, so probably you'll have to wait till next summer for Retribution in PB. :(

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 2 comments I just read her classic "Daemon's Angel". I found it at a thrift store for $0.75!! It was like new - published in 1995! I believe this is one of her first PNR books! It was great!

message 606: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Sounds like it might be from her historical line of books.

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 2 comments Her historical series was written as Kinley MacGregor. This one was independant before she stopped writing for the 4-5 years she quit.

message 608: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I just said I thought it was one of her historical ones cause I thought I read in passing she had a character named Daemon from her McCallister series. But am aware she has written some independent works before too. I actually came across her in a contemporary novella before without even making the connection to her being the author of the DH books or the historical ones.

That was such a good book! Definitely one of my favorites so far.

Jennifer | 1747 comments Silentdoe2 wrote: "Finished retribution waiting for the next one is killing me!!!"

The one good thing about not having finished the series is that waiting for the next book isn't as bad of a torture than if the entire series was already read. I know the feeling with some other series though, and it can be a lot of torture (lol)!

message 615: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I second that. Although I think I feel the torture more intensely when it is a series that is just a trilogy but the author is going through writer's block or whatever and the last book is drug out for what seems like years.

PepperP0t | 180 comments Starting Sins of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon and this world is all new to me. (don't hate because you're re-reading!)

message 617: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Far from hating. Just hope that some of the spoilers and comments don't distract ya too much Pat. There is always so much chitter chatter here about characters and what not. So hopefully nothing you read spoils the other books and stuff for you.

I still haven't read the whole series yet so you're not alone. Haven't read the book you're starting on yet either, lol. Hope you enjoy it! SK is a really good writer ^.^.

I'm good because I know that going in. Its kinda expected, a lot of you have read it so you may be discussing characters and twists I haven't gotten to, I'll just slide over those.

Amaya I like her style a lot, how far have you gotten.

message 620: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments So do I. I haven't read the series in order, esp. since I tend to get coupons and grab whichever books are available at that time, lol. I'm trying to go back and read the ones I haven't in order though. So far I have read 6 of the books. Was working on the Vampire Academy series. Now that that's over I can get back to the Dark-Hunter series.

message 621: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t | 180 comments I finished Sins of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . It wasn't my favorite but I don't dislike it. I thought there was a lot of good info there. I liked getting more background for the world.

message 622: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments Sorry to here that one wasn't as good for you. On the bright side there's 20 something books in the series with different types of characters ^.^.

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) | 359 comments I'm rereading the Thorn scenes. I'm obsessed with him lately.

I loved the ones before and I'm sure I'll love again! They won't all be 5star.

message 625: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments True that Pat. I have given my fair share of 2 stars to most SK books. But I still love the world all the same.

message 626: by Silentdoe2 (last edited Mar 04, 2012 12:25PM) (new)

Silentdoe2 | 36 comments I'm re-reading Kiss of the Night. I don't know why but when i first read it, it didn't really resonate for me. I'm enjoying it a lot more now that I know Urian is not a complete and total jackass

message 627: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t | 180 comments Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon is next up for me. I'm taking a short break so the series doesn't get stale on me. I plan to start it before the end of the week.

message 628: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments I'm debating between that one and another one as my next SK book. Let us know how that one goes for you, Pat. Happy reading!

Ur gonna love that one I think :)

message 630: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I just liked the extra info and Apollite take on things. But Wulf and Cassandra was one of my "meh" couples.

message 631: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments I want to ask why they were a "meh" couple but I know that would ruin the book so I won't, haha.

message 632: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh that is fine, I can answer without giving anything away. And my answer is because to me Wulf and Talon just did not seem to have the same energy and level of interest factor for me like Kyrian and Julian did when the series first started. And although Cassandra is an Apollite, she still never brought the same energy as Tabitha or even Bride. So I guess I just didn't connect well with them.

message 633: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t | 180 comments I was fine with both Talon & Wulf's books. The one that felt a little off to me was Alexion & Danger. The book itself had a lot of info but the book didn't seem o have the same energy.

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) | 359 comments I loved Talon and Sunshine.

But I guess we all have meh couples. Mine are Vane and Bride, Fury and Lia and Sundwown and Abi. All because I can't stand the females.

message 635: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments Ooooh. Yes, not all of them have that same energy to them. Bride is one of my favorite female characters. I have Talon's book but I always forget to read it because it's buried with some books that have already been read.

message 636: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments By the way, what did ya'll think of Dev's book if ya'll have read that one? I read a small portion of the beginning of it.

message 637: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t | 180 comments I don't know all of those people yet. I "met" Fury & Sundown but not Lia or Abi. I think I "met" Dev but haven't gotten to any of their books yet. I'll just be starting book 8/Wren this week. (I needed to take a mini-break to keep the series fresh for me.)

message 638: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments Dev's books is one of the more recent ones. It's called No Mercy. Was Fury's book good? I would really like to read his as well.

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) | 359 comments Fury only has a short story. It's best if you read it and see for yourself. I personally hate his story and the female character. The things she did and that he forgave her... Only thinking about her makes me so mad. I don't think there is any chemistry between them.

Dev's story was not bad. Although my main focus in it was Ethon. *dreamy sigh*

message 640: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments Ah ok. I haven't gotten very far in Dev's book but so far I'm having a hard time of holding interest. I don't know why. I think it's because of the main female character, though when I get farther into the book it might end up better.

Oh I liked Sunshine just fine. Talon and Wulf just don't seem like characters I would notice in a crowded room if they were real. But as far as meh couples Wren and Maggie is tops for me in that regard. Ravyn and Susan come in a close third. But the reason for Ravyn not wanting his soul back sort of redeems him for me a bit.

Dev for some reason seemed a little dumber than I expected in his book. I mean I get he is a were bear but to me I got the vibe of him seeming so much more dense and being totally the bouncer at the door. But I did like getting to see the other side of their family though in his book and in Fang's. Peltiers are definitely hiding some juicy secrets.

As for Fury's story, I have to say I don't mind Fury. But Lia I think she out "human" the humans at times. And was so prissy at times. So she wasn't a fave of mine.

message 642: by Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (last edited Mar 05, 2012 11:28PM) (new)

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) | 359 comments Susan was soooo annoying. Ravyn was okay but her, didn't like her at all.

I had to laugh at your dumb Dev comment but I can kind of see that. I had no real problem with him but like I said I was distracted by Ethon.

Oh, Fury is one of my fave characters. I love him! But Lia is one of the worst and I cannot see how he could forgive her and how they are in love. He deserved better. *sighs*

*snicker* Dumb Dev

message 644: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well he did seem kind of dumb. Like remember when there was a part of the story where he had to help solve a riddle. And although I know not everyone is good at such things but he didn't even seem to have the basic premise of what the hell Samia was even talking about til Ash was like, "Uh no, we are talking about this other topic in relation to the riddle. What the heck are youuu talking about?" lol. It's moments like that when I love Ash.

I haven't gotten there yet. I just thought Dumb Dev was funny! Wren's books is next for me. I just finished the short Second Chances. I have one commitment I'm in the middle of then I'm attacking Wren - the novel!

ASH TORY AMENDER

waiting for the next book

message 647: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (midna) | 11 comments Oh Talon was so hot... but my favorite until now were Vane and Bride. I loved their book - okay I also loved Julians book, lol.

message 648: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments What did ya'll think of Sin's story? Devil May Cry

message 649: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Thats an absolute love for me. I cried little bit when Ash finally got the story behind what went down. And I even liked that there were a few more secrets revealed about the DHs again. As they aren't all who they really appear to be. ;)

message 650: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments His book is one of my favorites. Right next to Vane and Bride's book. I want to read Ash's book so bad but I keep reading stuff about how his female interest in the book didn't seem to work so well, lol which I don't wanna be disappointed with.
