I wasn't sure how I'd feel about a story set away from the New Orleans crew, but I thought the characters were interesting. You're right that Susan is a strong character-with martial arts training! I loved that she was well able to hold her own, without being a total hard-ass. The banter between them was great. And I love any time Savitar shows his sexy self!
My favorite aspect of this one was the squires. Learning more about their organization was welcome-they're always present, but other than Nick and Otto, we don't get to know them.

I just finished Dream Chaser, and I loved it, a much strong dream-hunter novel compared to what else I've read, plus some more insight into the demon world...
Kenyon just keeps expandning on her world with each book, and I can't wait to learn more about it...and I'm really intrigued with this Jaden character...hmmm

It's a really strong contribution, and the plot is more Dark Hunter than Dream Hunter in style. Lots of new info, lots of demon action (both charonte and gallu), and ghosts! Can't forget the ghost aspect. And Xypher is an angry, angry man...and delicious.
I also liked the police preocedural slant to it. It's a different twist and I liked it. Plus, Jaden is introduced!

Him, Valerius and Zarek, baby. Them's be my men.

Xypher is #1 on my favorite Dream-Hunter list (as I wrote in a post somewhere, I have three favorite lists, for each branch of Hunters out there).
He had a lot in common with Zarek if you ask me, that's also a big plus for him. I like my boys to be a little on the badass side. LOL
I'm not currently reading anything penned by SK.
Dream Warrior is still in my TBR pile, but I don't want to read it until I finish One Silent Night (I'm all for continuity), but I'm a little weary of that one. I don't know why.

I think he's hot as hell. "
I LOVE XYPHER!!

You and Chasidy have excellent taste.
Xypher...ahhh.

Isn't he just something? I love the begining scene with him in the factory. The way Kenyon described him in his unirorm... *sighs* to die for. ;)

He's totally yum.

I look at them as quickies to tide me over til the next Dark Hunter comes out. They are filler books to me, designed to show us stuff that's going on behind the scenes, and to expand on info that's important to the Dark Hunter world, but wouldn't necessarily flow or fit into a Dark Hunter book.
Midnight Clear was not one of my favorites, but it gives you a lot of insight into how the Dream Hunters came to be what they are, what they've endured, and gives info that (not that YOU know this yet, Tiffany) we'll need for the next story arc.
I don't know what part you're up to, but there is a turn around point where things get more fast paced. And to understand more intimately what the oneroi have suffered through was info I appreciated by the end. Zeus is a bastard.
Now...Deimos. Deimos' appearances alone made reading that one worth it. I LOVE him. I want lots more of him, and I think Ms. Kenyon's going to oblige.

Oh crap, I am talking about Jericho. Xypher is the one with Simone.. lol I remember him now... oh yes he's something.

Somethin' good!
Bad, Tiffany! Oh you out-of-order readers! But still, at least you've gone back and read them. Some people read a book from very late in the series and then wonder why they don't like it and why it doesn't make sense. Drives me mad!
I love the recurring character pop-up. Hey, it's you! Glad to see you still walkin' around, breathin' and stuff and you haven't disappeared off the face of the earth! I love that Kyrian and Julian still pop in from time to time, despite the fact that they are supposed to be living nice CALM lives now.
I love Deimos and his brother playing chess. I cracked up.

Oh, Xypher. I was at dinner last night and my friend and I discussed him and some others in awed and raptured tones.
Whilst her husband and another friend looked on in confusion and dismay.
So we changed the topic...for all of five minutes and then went right back to DH talk, despite her husband threatening that we could walk home.
Tee hee...

What can I say but Xypher, Xypher, Xypher... mmmmm
That was a great book, and you are right it reads more like a DH story, which makes you want to keep turning the pages.
Time for Acheron! Life just got better... I really hope I love this book as much as I think I will.

Xypher is one my favorite books of the series. I rave about it all the time, especially since many people shy away from the Dream Hunter books. The story, and couple, are definitely a great addition to the series! Not to mention he's so terribly hot hot hot.
I'm glad you're another Xypher fan and that enjoyed the book!

Hmn. It's about the Oneroi. Goes more into the whole issue of the Oneroi's emotions. Reviews how the incident with Zeus actually went down. The storyline in and of itself isn't very important. But it sets up A LOT of shit for the next few books.
I don't think you'll be too thrown off without it.
Tiffany!! You just read it. Plot points that you desperately need-are there any in Midnight Clear?
Besides my Deimos of course.

thank you::I always feel as tho' i've missed out on something if i don't read the whole series::as its part of the bigger plot i'll give it a go:: can't bear having to trudge thru drivel tho' hence my question :):: i've taken another peak at it::the prints big:: wont take long to read Ha Ha :: i've actually just looked a the cover and seen that it's a *Dream Hunter* i tend to read these as a separate series (altho in order of the DH series) anyway so it may not be as bad as i think::

Personally I didn't care for it much, it's more of a filler than anything else...Of course anything with Deimos in is still worth reading.
Just send your brain for coffee before you start and you'll be okay. *grin*
I'm on Dream Chaser and I love it. I've had a hard time getting into the Dream Hunter books (I do like them though), but not this one. I LOVE Xypher.
I'm not quite halfway done. I am really enjoying the book.

Wow. So many people on GoodReads seem to be on Dream Chaser lately. I can't get over how many times ya'll have reminded me to mentally drool over Xypher!
And drool I do.

Sorry.. I was stuck on Acheron the last few days, and have done nothing else.. Gods! That was a GREAT book... I could go on and on about that book.
BUT as for a "Midnight Clear" Adrienne, I just read it last week, and it was not one of my favorites, but I am glad I did read it. I, like Michelle enjoy reading the whole series. With this series I think it is important because her books always refer to past characters, and it makes it worth it to know who they are when they make a future appearance. Also at the end of the book is some great "outtakes" from other books that also gives you insight.
Is there anyone who wants to talk about Acheron with out spoiling it? Is that possible?

Must say reading from the start and packing the novels in so quickly after each other (mostly cause I just cant stop) I find the continued romance trend a bit tedious. Thats the only think I dont like, its too predictable. But all and all just love how the whole story of the Dark hunters unfolds.
