Jamie Lee I just finished Unwholly and it was okay, I think it was pretty much used to set up the 3rd book which it did really well. As a stand alone I was really hoping for more!

It's an interesting book but it's done by interviews by a bunch of people who witnessed the events so I find it choppy and it can't get into the plot since each eyewitness is about a page and a half long from all over the world you never grasp characters. Still debating whether to keep reading it.

Jamie Lee Currently reading Outside In (Insider, #2) by Maria V. Snyder and i'm really enjoying it so far!

Steph is: Pageturning578 (stephw1991) I all I have the first books of three series on my shelf and I was wondering what series people enjoyed!?

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi Gone (Gone, #1) by Michael Grant Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie

message 207: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments Awesome!! Well, the writing in Shatter Me will either be really beautiful for you, or really odd and annoying lol! I was the former and fell in love with the writing but then didn't like the second half of the book that much due to some issues I had with the plot. But most people loved it. The romance was pretty well done too.

Gone is an awesome series, in my opinion. It has a more middle grade feel to it, but lots of action and a very complex plot with well developed characters. Not much romance though if that's what you're looking for.

For me, Matched is a not-as-good version of Delirium. Slightly different plot but not as beautiful writing as Lauren Oliver. It's a decent read though.

Not sure if that helps!

Malia | 3 comments Just finished the Gone series and really enjoyed it. Also enjoyed David Estes' converging series Dwellers and Country sagas. For those who posted about Finnikin of the Rock- you may enjoy the Muirwood series by Jeff Wheeler. They remind me of each other though I can't pin down why. Now off to find what's next...

I'm reading the third Rot & Ruin book Flesh and Bone (Benny Imura, #3) by Jonathan Maberry If you like zombies and haven't read these, they're an amazing YA series with some really creative twists on the old zombie apocalypse :)
