Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Finished Fire and Ash (Benny Imura, #4) by Jonathan Maberry last night and really, really liked it. Not my favorite book in the series, but a very good ending to a very good series.

Up next, gonna start The Young Elites (The Young Elites, #1) by Marie Lu either tonight or tomorrow night.

@tommy, yea I finished that Ken early this month but it took me..."

I was the same way with the last two books, even though I really enjoyed them. Fire and Ash took me almost 2 weeks to read and I 4-starred it haha. I think the series hits some dead spots(pun intended) where it's honestly just an okay read, but when it does hit it's stride it's great. So when I add the lows and highs together I come out with a very good series. not a favorite, but one I like more than most.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Finished The Young Elites (The Young Elites, #1) by Marie Lu and absolutely loved it(didn't love Legend, btw). I saw some people post about disliking the main character, but I absolutely loved her.

Up next, Hollow City (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #2) by Ransom Riggs

message 1554: by Kim (new)

Kim | 6 comments I recently finished Alice in No-Man's-Land Alice in No-Man's-Land by James Knapp , which was very good.

I'm now listening to The 5th Wave The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey as an audio book and I'm almost done. It's great so far. I'm looking forward to the movie release in January 2016.

I'm also reading Library of Souls Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #3) by Ransom Riggs .

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I finished Hollow City (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #2) by Ransom Riggs this morning. Loved it. First book was better through the first 1/3 or so, but this one ended stronger IMO.

Hmm...I loved Legend and I only liked The Young Elites. The main character is definitely different and more villainous than the typical YA heroine, but I thought she was awesome!

message 1560: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jessilovesbooks) | 364 comments I'm currently reading Pawn (The Blackcoat Rebellion, #1) by Aimee Carter and it's pretty awesome so far.

Over Thanksgiving break I read some non-dystopian stuff: Sweet Ruin (Immortals After Dark, #15) by Kresley Cole Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, #1) by Seth Grahame-Smith An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

message 1561: by Marcia (new)

Marcia (marciavdz) | 15 comments I am starting The Fall (The Glimpse, #2) by Claire Merle tonight! I loved the first book in this duology :)

message 1562: by Kim (new)

Kim | 6 comments I'm reading Teresa of the New World Teresa of the New World by Sharman Apt Russell which is YA, but not dystopian.

I'm also listening to More Than This More Than This by Patrick Ness , which is YA also. I am not sure what to make of it yet. It is kind of like the series "Lost" where there are mysteries that seem impossible to explain rationally. So I'll have to keep reading and wait and see if the author can pull it off.

I am currently reading:
The Shadow Behind the Stars by Rebecca Hahn
(The Shadow Behind The Stars)

I just finished reading:
Zeroes (Zeroes, #1) by Scott Westerfeld
(Zeroes)

I'm wondering about:
Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman ....
(Unwind)
I've been able to get a link to read it free...is it any good?

message 1564: by Kim (new)

Kim | 6 comments I loved Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman . It has an absurd premise, but the author makes it work. You just have to accept the premise for the sake of the story. I listened to it via an audio book.

Kim | 6 comments I'm just about to start Winter Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer as well, but as an audio book. I just found out that there is a Lunar Chronicles book 3.5 call Fairest Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles, #3.5) by Marissa Meyer . Does anyone know if it matters if I read Winter first, then Fairest? I'm thinking it probably doesn't matter the order I read them in, but I'm not sure.

Fairest is backstory. It happened before Cinder. so you don't NEED to read it before Winter.

Jessi (jessilovesbooks) | 364 comments I am in such a reading slump!! :( :( :(
All the books sound boring except ones I've already read a billion times. Sigh.
Going on vacation this week though so I'll have to read lots while I'm laying by the pool, so maybe that will force me out of it!

Maybe you need to branch off and read something outside of your normal genre. Sometimes that breaks a slump for me. :)
