That's been on my tbr list forever - you'll have to let me know if it's good!"

I loved it! I've read 2 of the 3 so far and am on the library waitlist for the 3rd really good reads :-)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Rebecca wrote: "How is the Nicholas Flamel series?"

Well, I haven't started the last book yet, so I'll try to remember to tell you my thoughts once I finish it.

As of now, being 5/6 of the way done, I like it. It's slow at times and there are some info dumps that, to me feel like the author put them there just to let us know how knowledgeable he is(especially in book one). When things do get going though, it's a fun read. And the real life historical and mythological creatures add a lot to it. Also, it gets better every single book(*except maybe the last one).

I recommend checking book one out at the library or borrowing it from someone, and if you enjoy it at all, I think it's worth it to go on.

Thanks. This is helpful. I like the idea of borrowing the first and see what I think. Might just check it out....

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Finished Kick-Ass 3 by Mark Millar and while I cannot recommend it to all here(*it's firmly in the r-rated category), the story ended up being a lot more beautiful than it had any right to be.

And now to focus in on The Enchantress (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #6) by Michael Scott

Glad to be of help :)

It seems the best approach because, while all people's tastes will differ, I imagine most who enjoy the first book even a little bit will enjoy the rest of the series.

BriAnna | 98 comments Just finished Matched. Trying to decide if I should read Crossed, HP and Prisoner of Azkaban, or take a break and go for the only non series book I have, Riding Hood. Any opinions?

message 1358: by Betty (new)

Betty Cross (bettycross) | 70 comments If you enjoyed Matched, give Crossed a try. I managed to finish Matched but didn't like it enough to give Crossed a chance.

message 1359: by Ivy (new)

Ivy | 35 comments I loved the matched series!!

message 1360: by BriAnna (new)

BriAnna | 98 comments I decided to read Red Riding Hood so I could take a break from series. It is pretty good, it's different from what I usually read. I'm going to try to read Crossed next and finish that series so I can read the rest of HP back to back.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Finally finished The Enchantress (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #6) by Michael Scott Not the best book in the series, all and all, but the ending got me like whaaaaat?!

Also finished Bone, Vol. 1 Out from Boneville (Bone, #1) by Jeff Smith and Bone, Vol. 2 The Great Cow Race (Bone, #2) by Jeff Smith . I've been meaning to read these comics for years and am so glad I finally started. So far it's equal parts hilarious and epic.

Up next I'm gonna read The Grimjinx Rebellion by Brian Farrey to finish up the Vengekeep Prophecies trilogy. If it's as good as the first two, this could be one of my favorite series.

Seriously, guys, you NEED to read these books. They deserve to be one of those series like Percy Jackson that so many people gush about. In fact, I prefer it to Percy Jackson.

I just finished The 5th Wave and I really enjoyed the plot and how we got the story from more than one perspective. However the main chick (Cassie) is a little frustrating ! I'm enjoying Ringer's character a lot more !
So onto The Infinite Sea

message 1398: by Ivy (new)

Ivy | 35 comments I had started the 5th Wave a few months back but could not keep focused on what I was reading.. I felt it dragged on about nothing in the first half... Maybe I'll try it again in the future
