That makes sense and I think you're right. I'm happy to have the focus elsewhere for a change.

But... I just picked up The Glass Arrow by Kristen Simmons from the library so that's next and I'm sure it will be awesome! :)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I finished The Void of Mist and Thunder (The 13th Reality #4) by James Dashner (the last book of the 13th Realty series) today. This was a good one. Not an all time great series, but fun all the way through with a super good ending. I recommend.

Up next, The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver

message 1307: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Finished The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver I really liked it. It was fun and quick and the imagery was fantastic. I recommend it, especially as an in-between-series read.

Up next, I'll probably reread Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3) by J.K. Rowling until I can get back to the library later this week.

message 1308: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3) by J.K. Rowling (reread) today. Always good to go back to the book that made me love the series.

I'll probably read How to Train Your Dragon (How to Train Your Dragon, #1) by Cressida Cowell over the weekend.

That seems to have been a really fast read. Is this the basis for the movie? Or vice versa?

message 1311: by Ivy (new)

Ivy | 35 comments I am currently reading Matched by Ally Condie. I am really early in the book but am loving it so far! This wasn't my first choice this time around, my book store in town didn't have any of the trilogy's I wanted to go with, in stock. But it's been on my long list of To Read. Very excited to see how this series goes!!

message 1312: by Alison (new)

Alison Morquecho (thebookishcamper) | 525 comments Reading the Isle of blood and I love it so far!!!! This series is amazing

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Rebecca wrote: "That seems to have been a really fast read. Is this the basis for the movie? Or vice versa?"

Yeah, I started it last night ended it this morning haha. It was both fun and short making it a quick one. The books came before the movies, but the two products are very different. In this case, I like the movie better. Not cause the book was bad(simple though it was, being for kiddies) but the movie is one of my favorite cartoon movies.

Thanks. The dry humor in the movie is fantastic.

message 1316: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Took an 8 mile hike to the library today(4 there, 4 back) and got me a nice batch of books, mostly books in series I need to finish.

I'll probably read The Necromancer (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #4) by Michael Scott starting tonight.

message 1317: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jessilovesbooks) | 364 comments Damn Tommy - that's dedication to reading!

I just finished The Glass Arrow by Kristen Simmons - it was pretty awesome. I'm going on vacation next week (Caribbean cruise paid for by my wonderful mother-in-law!) so I'm planning on reading a bunch of books! I have a short-list of about 20 books. lol There's no way I'll get through all of them!

message 1318: by Heather (new)

Heather (hersecretsmile) | 49 comments I'm reading The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black and will probably be starting The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand soon too because I can't resist.

It's more dedication to my sanity haha. If I go a week without reading something I'll start losing my mind and it had already been 3 days!
Exaggerating, of course, but I really don't like going long without jumping into a world someone else loved so much that they had to write hundreds of pages about it haha.

Oh I totally understand! I'd probably do the same if necessary! That's the nice thing about my kindle - I can check out a bunch of library books from the comfort of my couch!

message 1321: by Laura (acquariusgb) (new)

Laura (acquariusgb) (acquariusgb) Finally catching up with everybody else and I've started reading The Darkest Minds since I've already read the Legend series. :D

message 1322: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) | 17 comments I'm currently reading Pawn (The Blackcoat Rebellion, #1) by Aimee Carter , I really liked the author's first series "The Goddess Test" so I hope this one is as good and interesting as that series

message 1323: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I finished Saga, Volume 1 (Saga #1-6) by Brian K. Vaughan Saga, Volume 2 (Saga #7-12) by Brian K. Vaughan Saga, Volume 3 (Saga #13-18) by Brian K. Vaughan and absolutely loved them. They're for "mature readers", so I can't recommend them to everyone, but if you're of an age/maturity level that you can read them, I recommend them highly.

Up next I'll really get started on The Necromancer (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #4) by Michael Scott and I'll try to have that and Amulet, Vol. 4 The Last Council (Amulet, #4) by Kazu Kibuishi Amulet, Vol. 5 Prince of the Elves (Amulet, #5) by Kazu Kibuishi and Amulet, Vol. 6 Escape From Lucien (Amulet, #6) by Kazu Kibuishi by Monday, when I plan on returning some things to the library then hanging out and writing for a while.

message 1324: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca McCray (RebPai) | 19 comments I just started reading Red-Line The Shift by J.T. Bishop , which seems more fantasy than dystopian, but we shall see.

message 1325: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenlee) I'm working on The The Infinite Moment of Us
It's not bad. And as a Wren, I'm comparing myself to this Wren.
It's sort of racist, though...

message 1326: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I finished The Necromancer (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #4) by Michael Scott this morning. I liked it a lot. Quite a bit more than the first three books of the series.

I started The Shadowhand Covenant by Brian Farrey as well. Loved the first book, and just a couple chapters in I'm already liking this one just as much. I really wish this series was more popular.

I started Mercury by Hope Larson a little bit ago. Ran by it at the library and have been meaning to read a Hope Larson graphic novel for a while. Just started it, but so far it's interesting.

message 1329: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) | 17 comments I will be starting today Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth . I already saw the movie and I liked it, hope the book is better

message 1330: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Finished Mercury by Hope Larson and, sadly, was kind of let down. I've been wanting to read a Hope Larson graphic novel for years now and this book sounded so promising. It wasn't that it was bad, just kind of... flat? I don't know. I loved the artwork, though. I'll give H-Lars another shot :)

Up next will probably be Theodosia and the Eyes of Horus (Theodosia Throckmorton, #3) by R.L. LaFevers

That's been on my to-read list forever! Let me know if you like it!

I'm in the middle of Everything That Makes You by Moriah McStay - it's kind of like Pivot Point (Pivot Point, #1) by Kasie West but not as good. Also audiobooking Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and liking it a lot more than I thought I would.

I was finally able to catch up on some reading on vacation last week. I finished Ash A Destined Novel by Shani Petroff My Best Everything by Sarah Tomp Righteous by Kim Lehman The Sin Eater’s Daughter (The Sin Eater’s Daughter, #1) by Melinda Salisbury Broken Skies (Broken Skies, #1) by Theresa Kay The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley by Shaun Hutchinson The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand and Half Dead & Fully Broken by Kevin Craig

I am REALLY enjoying it! Even though I have been bawling my eyes out for half the book... I think it will be in my top favorite books! I have Pivot Point on my To Read List too! I highly suggest this book as long as no one looks at it to deeply on how the author portays depression. It's a great book so far!

Also finished Theodosia and the Eyes of Horus (Theodosia Throckmorton, #3) by R.L. LaFevers liking this series more and more with each book. One more to go, hope it ends strong.

Up next I'll more than likely start The Warlock (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #5) by Michael Scott

message 1336: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenlee) I'm on Dove Arising
The author is using bumbling text... Which is hard to read

message 1337: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I finished The Warlock (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #5) by Michael Scott earlier today. I wasn't overly crazy about the first couple of books, but really glad I kept with it. One more book and can't wait to see how it ends.

Up next, Theodosia and the Last Pharaoh (Theodosia Throckmorton, #4) by R.L. LaFevers :)

Totally know what you mean. I have book moods. Last summer all I wanted to read was ya contemporary and even though I usually love dystopian, every time I picked one up I wasn't enjoying it. So I just let it drop a bit and eventually my dystopian mood came back. :)
