I read the first two books in the series and adored them :) Can't wait to read Dreams of Gods and Monsters! Glad you like it

Alison Morquecho (thebookishcamper) | 525 comments Cambria, u should asap. I liked the first book but was hard to get into it. I didn't really see what everyone did about the writing being beautiful. with the second book I started really getting into all the characters and by book 3 I think I had a love for each character :) I mean really, I cried a lot.in this book, prob for no reason at all lol. can't wait to hear what u think of this last book!

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Sadly, after spending over a week to reach page 70, I decided to give up on The Dark Hills Divide (The Land of Elyon, #1) by Patrick Carman :/ The synopsis sounded so interesting, but that far in and nearly nothing had happened. So sad.

I started Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos (Theodosia Throckmorton, #1) by R.L. LaFevers (my last library book) a couple days ago, and I'm liking it so far. It's pretty light and kind of funny, but still interesting enough so far.

tell me about it. I need to read Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3) by Sarah J. Maas and Rose Under Fire (Code Name Verity, #2) by Elizabeth Wein … they are both staring at me from my book shelf as I force myself to do homework

message 1162: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jessilovesbooks) | 364 comments I'm in the middle of too many books again! I was in the middle of Wild From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed and The Queen of Zombie Hearts (White Rabbit Chronicles, #3) by Gena Showalter , which are both pretty awesome. And then The Retribution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #3) by Michelle Hodkin shows up on my doorstep - I forgot I had preordered it and I forgot that it was coming out and I wanted to reread the first two books first!! Eek!

I haven't been reading much lately either. :( I've been marathoning the few TV shows that I like so that I can get caught up.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Finished Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos (Theodosia Throckmorton, #1) by R.L. LaFevers last night. I enjoyed, but did not love it. If you're looking for a series involving magic(Egyptian curses in particular) starring a very smart and enjoyable young girl(eleven), I'd consider this one.

I'm going to start Legacy Code (Legacy Code #1) by Autumn Kalquist later tonight. It's book one of a scifi series that I got to review. Seems to be more space fairing than dystopian, which I welcome at the moment.

message 1164: by BriAnna (new)

BriAnna | 98 comments It is taking me forever to read City of Fallen Angels. Last book was soooo good now this is boring.. Meh :/

message 1165: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenlee) Has anyone else read Schizo? I am reading it right now.

message 1166: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jessilovesbooks) | 364 comments Wren - never heard of it, is it good??

message 1167: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Since I last commented I finished:

Legacy Code (Legacy Code #1) by Autumn Kalquist which I really liked. Kind of a really intense drama in space. It felt more "grown up" to me than most YA books I read, but I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a change of pace.

also, Avatar The Last Airbender - The Search by Gene Luen Yang a graphic novel that takes place after the end of the TV show. If you watched the show, I recommend this. If you haven't, I recommend watching it, then reading this. Love this series in all its incarnations :)

I'm now reading The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness I'm a little less than halfway done. Not much of a clue what's going on, but I'm liking it. The intense scenes are like :O

message 1168: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenlee) Schizo was okay. A bit dull. Not the best I've read about a guy who has a psychological disorder...

message 1169: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenlee) Dear goodness.
I'm so paranoid right now.
Why?
'The Evolution of Mara Dyer'
I am terrified to look in the mirror.
Dear god...

Andrea: BookStoreFinds (bookstorefinds) | 27 comments Mara Dyer is my Favourite Series of All time! It's sooooo good!

message 1174: by Hanna (new)

Hanna (hanawe1) | 44 comments Just finished The Evolution of Mara Dyer. It was crazy good. I'm kind of speechless

message 1175: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenlee) It is good. But I have a bit of paranoia, and reading about mutilated cats at ten at night isn't good for my paranoia.

message 1176: by Hanna (new)

Hanna (hanawe1) | 44 comments I just realised that the two main characters in I'll Give You the Sun, are named Noah and Jude. And I finished The Evolution of Mara Dyer just a couple of hours ago. I'm confused

Wren (wrenlee) Haha. I'll be reading I'll Give You the Sun. Someday. Maybe soon. Maybe not.
I'm reading Chasing Shadows now. It's for BoB...

message 1179: by Chante (new)

Chante I'm currently reading Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas

message 1180: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I finished The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness last night. Oh my god, why did you guys not warn me about all of these feels?! I loved it, though.

Tonight I'm gonna start The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2) by Patrick Ness

message 1181: by Kiya (new)

Kiya | 15 comments I am currently "The Elite" by Kiera Cass. It is the second book in "The Selection" and I'm more than halfway through it. My teacher let me borrow the third one because it's likely I'll finish "The Elite" before Thanksgiving Break is over. It's really good though. Dramatic and page-turning, I'll say.

message 1182: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenlee) Ooh. The Elite. I've read that one. She's making a fourth book, you know. The Heir.

message 1183: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenlee) I'm preparing my wimpy self for 'In the Shadow of Blackbirds'. If I didn't need to read it for BoB, I wouldn't read it. The cover is terrifying in and of itself.

message 1184: by Kiya (new)

Kiya | 15 comments Haha.

Kiya | 15 comments I reallllllly really wanna read Darkest Minds now. It feels like now Im rushing to finish The Selection series so I can read the Darkest Minds. Ahhhhhrrrrgggggh...

message 1186: by Kiya (new)

Kiya | 15 comments I just started The One, the third book in The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I would say it's very dramatic and intense.

I just finished the Darkest Minds Trilogy! It was really good! The characters are hilarious and so lovable.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I finished The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2) by Patrick Ness and loved it. Better than book one, which I also loved.

Started Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking, #3) by Patrick Ness last night. I'm sad for it to end.

Thank you :) I'm really liking it so far, but I'm not too far in.

message 1192: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca McCray (RebPai) | 19 comments I'm currently reading The Ebonite and Her Earthling (The Kota Series, #2) by Sunshine Somerville -- 2nd book in a great sci-fi/fantasy series. Enjoying it as much as the 1st, so far.

message 1193: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments Took a break from Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking, #3) by Patrick Ness to read The New World (Chaos Walking, #0.5) by Patrick Ness and The Wide, Wide Sea (Chaos Walking, #2.5) by Patrick Ness .

Both very good, now back to the MoM!

message 1194: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jessilovesbooks) | 364 comments I'm finishing up Rite of Rejection by Sarah Negovetich and it's pretty damn good. The first 20 pages or so reminded me a lot of The Selection, but then it takes a totally different turn.

hmm, never thought of that! I really like the Mara Dyer series too...that author does a great job with building up the story and making me anxious. just put the third book on hold at the library.

message 1197: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I finished Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking, #3) by Patrick Ness this morning. God, this series was something special.
Immediately opened up Snowscape (Chaos Walking, #3.5) by Patrick Ness after that. I liked it, but it made me mad haha. Made me want moooore!

I'm currently reading Zot! by Scott McCloud and will start The Alchemyst (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #1) by Michael Scott within the next couple days.

message 1198: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 196 comments I read The Lost Scrolls Air by Tom Mason , an Avatar book for kids. Pretty cool, mostly a recap of some season 1 episodes and then some side fact stuff. Still, if you're a fan of the show, it was cool.

I decided that since Zot! by Scott McCloud is a collection of odd issues, I'll read it on the side as I continue to read novels. So I started reading The Alchemyst (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #1) by Michael Scott It's been a little spotty, but I'm liking it so far.

message 1199: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca McCray (RebPai) | 19 comments I finished the 2nd book in The Kota series (great sci-fi) and am now reading Charlie Robot. Only a few chapters in so we'll see how it goes.
