Those are great choices! I also recently enjoyed Partials (Partials, #1) by Dan Wells

message 53: by Heather (new)

Heather | 26 comments Meaghan thanks for the suggestion. I actually just finished unwholly a couple of weeks ago. It was a good one. I will look into the other book you mentioned. Have any of you read Son yet? I'm curious about that!

message 54: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan | 46 comments I haven't gotten there yet. I've only read The Giver from that series so far.

message 55: by Meaghan (new)

amber just finished reading The Kill Order and Maze Runner by James Dashner - both really good books, I couldn't put them down! They're part of a series (The Kill Order is a prequel) so i'm really excited to read the next ones; I really recommend them :)

message 69: by Trinesha (new)

Trinesha (msjournalist) Irina, I finished it and it got so much better as the book went along. If you like Finnikin of the Rock, maybe you might like The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen.

Hmm I really liked them both! I'd say Uglies first because all 4 books are out and you can read the whole series if you like them :) Gone has five out with a sixth on the way ;)

message 81: by Alison (new)

Alison Morquecho (thebookishcamper) | 525 comments I am reading moon dwellers and I am loving it! But I feel so pressed for time because I have a limit lol.

message 82: by Pink (new)

Pink I decided on uglies, so reading that now. I love the concept of the book, very interested to see what happens.... I did sort of weigh the series up, 4 books vs. 6 books, but I don't think I'll read them immediately one after the other so that doesn't matter so much.

I noticed the third divergent book was named recently... Is everyone even more excited to read that now?

I didn't like City of Bones either, Christine. :(

message 92: by Alison (new)

Alison Morquecho (thebookishcamper) | 525 comments Hmm I got it from the library recently so it's in my list to eventually read. I heard such good things about it, guess ill have to see for myself. What didn't y'all like about it?

message 93: by Pink (new)

Pink I've finished Uglies and enjoyed it, Pretties has been ordered already!

Now I'm going to finish reading some Sherlock Holmes to break things up a bit, then it's onto Gone - at last!

I too have heard fantastic things about City of Bones and basically all of Cassandra Clare's book series, although I have my doubts over whether it's my sort of book.

message 94: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan | 46 comments I'm working on Prodigy (Legend, #2) by Marie Lu right now and I'm loving it! I like it just as much, if not more, than Legend.

I just didn't interest me. I found the start to be a little dull and I didn't find the plot too great. Everything just seemed to fit together perfectly and it all happened too quicky. Like when Clary found out this huge thing about herself and just accepted it.
It wasn't all bad, some part were quite exciting, but in the end I'd guessed all the twists and had no desire to read the next in the series.

I just couldn't get myself to actually care about the characters. For some reason Clary came across as a brat to me and every time she opened her mouth it just annoyed me more and more. I would have actually liked the book a lot too...the characters are just bleh.
