Susan | 7 comments Hello everyone! My name is Susan. I love reading a variety of genres, and I am still sort of new to scifi/fantasy. I am always looking for new authors and series to try.

message 309: by Esther (new)

Esther (nyctale) HI I am Esther. I joined a few weeks ago and been lurking since so I could get an idea of how things work.

Killing Moon was on my To-read list, so I ordered it. Just got it today. I should start it tomorrow.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) Good book Esther, welcome.

Hi Susan, welcome...

and anyone else I may have missed. :)

Raymond Rose (raymondmrose) | 4 comments Hi everybody! My name is Raymond M. Rose. I'm a sci/fi fan... have been ever since I saw Star Wars: ROTJ. I'm an author, father, husband, and college student. So I'm trying to get some reading done... when I'm not asleep. Right now my interests are in urban fantasy (just finished Mockingbird by Chuck Wendig), steampunk, and anything else that Robot Army wants me to read...

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) Welcome.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 82 comments Hi,
I joined up a little while ago, at the suggestion of a friend.
I read mostly fantasy, but enjoy science fiction, also.

I grew up in Delaware and now live in the rolling hills of Landenberg, Pa.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) Hi, welcome.

message 317: by Daniel (new)

Daniel Roy (triseult) Hello! I'm Daniel. Joined the group recently and I've been lurking. Mostly interested in SF, though I like the occasional Fantasy book as well. I'm a long-term traveler and aspiring writer. I'm currently in South Korea, trying to settle down here for a while.

Looking forward to exchanging with you guys!

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) Welcome.

message 322: by Chris (new)

Chris Dietzel (chrisdietzel) Hello everyone. This group came highly recommended to me by another member. I can already see why: I was just looking at the 'Beyond Reality Hall of Fame' thread with the top 10 lists and I was blown away by all of the novels I haven't even heard of before. I definitely have a lot of books to add to my to-read list.

Welcome, Chris! I'm always adding books to my list, thanks to this group.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) Welcome.

message 325: by Angee (new)

Angee Taylor (aaaaa11) Hello, I'm Angee Taylor and I'm glad to be here. A little about my self, I'm a mother, nurse, author, and blogger in that order ;) (Just the way life gave them to me) Anyway a little about me, I have one son he turns sixteen in a week! Two crazy dogs, they are polar opposites. One is a hyperactive Chihuahua the other is a lazy boxer pup. I work full time as a pre-hospital nurse that was my first calling in life. It's where the emotions I put into my books come from. I recently signed with Nevermore Press and released my first book. I live in West,TX.Yes where the explosion was and yes I was effected. My home and my job (well the office) was destroyed. Back to the group from what I read this is a great group and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Chris Dietzel (chrisdietzel) Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Kathi, I'll be exactly the same way. This group has already given me a slew of books to add to my to-read list. Very exciting.

Angee Taylor (aaaaa11) Thanks Mike :)

message 331: by Maddalena (new)

Maddalena | 7 comments Hello, I'm Maddalena, from Italy, and I've been a GR member for some time: I discovered this group through a mention on the Fantasy Literature blog - one of the best places where I can find titles to add to my (very long, and growing!) list of books to read.
I look forward to discussing my favorite books with you all: it promises to the a fun and informative journey!

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) Welcome.

Welcome, Maddalena! I'm very familiar with Fantasy Literature - used to be a member of their regular reviewer team and still occasionally provide a guest review.

Thanks for the welcome!
F.L. is a great place for reviews, I find they are very balanced and informative, and they helped me decide on a good number of books.

message 336: by Chip (new)

Chip (compuchip) I joined this group after I saw a mention that Leviathan Wakes was going to be a book for discussion here. The genre for this group is probably my main genre of reading, but I'm most active on the Apocalypse Whenever group which is run by a good friend of mine.

Favorite authors? Lately Patrick Rothfuss and Brandon Sanderson (although my guilty pleasure has been Jim Butcher).

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) Welcome Chip.

message 338: by Mark (new)

Mark | 4 comments I did join this group a long time ago before it was on Goodreads and have been a member since. I haven't introduced myself until now - shyness/laziness? I'm not sure why, but I thought I should now.

I am pretty bad at participating in book groups - I always end up reading stuff too late! But I thought I would try to dip in now and then and also participate on the general discussions too.

I am an author too - writing under my real name of Mark Lord!

message 339: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (sisimka) Hi Mark. :)

Reading the stuff late isn't usually a problem here (or so I have found). The conversations don't go anywhere and often get revived after a member or two finally catches up with the book!

message 340: by Mark (new)

Mark | 4 comments That's a good point - will have a trawl through some of the older posts!

That happens to me all the time, Mark. I just go back and find the discussion, read it, and add to it if I have something to say.

Welcome!

message 342: by Giulio (new)

Giulio Prisco Hi everyone. I have been reading good science fiction since I can remember. I look forward to interesting discussions here.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) Hi, welcome.

Mekki | 18 comments Hey Everyone.

I see the group is starting a couple of books on my TBR list, namely The Lathe of Heaven and Revelation Space. I hope to start reading these with you guys.

message 345: by Bob (new)

Bob (bobwill) | 40 comments Hello,
I officially joined this group about 4 years ago. I was on the old Amazon and Delphi boards and someone (Shel?) said to check out goodreads when Delphi fell apart. Once I joinded and started messing around with the recommendation feature here, I guess I didn't feel the need to jump in on a forum. Well, I've changed my mind and intend to start contributing. I'll most likely be late on the BotM selections, but will jump in when I can.
