Congrats to Abi, Chantae, and Ruchi!!! You guys are all official mods now :) You can also choose your mod 'titles' now instead of the Districts.

However, just a gentle reminder that you should still stay active and help with the group. Everyone is entitled focusing on real life instead of Goodreads (of course), but if we feel like you are neglecting the group or are simply too busy, we will remove you from your moderator position. You guys will all do great :)

Also- I was thinking about making a discussion in this thread for Mod Duties where essentially we can assign mods specific things to do each month (such as who does BOTM, Challenges, Group Message, etc.)

What do you guys think?

Well that just didn't happen. And I was checking the polls, and no one ever set up a July BOTM despite there being a poll for it? And there just wasn't an August one I guess? So I made the July winner the new BOTM. Anything else for a group message?

its ok :/ my schedule got all messed up and I just found out that my best friend is moving away in a week....so not the greatest start to the year :$

Just a suggestion, when you do the BOTM send out a broadcast to all group members when the suggestion thread goes up, when the poll is up, and when the book is chosen. This way we can get everybody involved. I feel that we have a really big group and tons of great things to do and talk about but we need to work on getting the members involved. That should be our goal for September and October. And guys I know you are all busy with school and life cause I am too :P but we can all work together and get this group blooming! i really want to hear all of your inputs on this! Keep up the great work, and feel free to msg me!!

ok...........so i havnt heard from anyone.......the BOTM needs to have newsletter sent out about it, we need the monthly newsletter to be sent out as well and a general update to the whole group. I need to know if there is anyone going to do that or if I need to do it. I'm gonna wait 2 more days for a reply before I actually get a bit disappointed/upset which i think is fair since there are 5 of you. If anyone needs any help with their job let me know, otherwise im gonna assume you know what you're doing. Also this group has not been active for 2 days, there about 700 ppl in the group, that should never happen. So im know im ranting but i'd really appreciate a reply to this. Thanks

I can do it if you want Sarah, but I don't really mind if you do it. Also, we should definitely brainstorm some ideas to keep the group active- although it's hard with school. In a couple weeks I should have a long weekend of nothing so I can try doing some stuff then!

Thanks for the reply! And before I we send out the newsletters i'd like to hear back from the other mods, for 2 reasons, one, i havent heard from them in a while and two, it would be better if we could have everybody do their set job instead of scarmbling to get it done when we notice nothing is happening. as one of the top mods what do you think?

Yeah I definitely agree. I think we need to all know how much we can handle for our jobs and just get that done each month for sure.

yeah so maybe wait till tomorrow after school then post it to give a bit of time then put it up and send a short broadcast msg with the link to the poll and the deadline. I'm going by my time in Canada but just give it about 18-20ish hours from wherever you are.

Hey is there anything I should really do???? Cause I'm not really assigned anything so I feel unproductive :P And I guess I try to oversee everyone normally, but since I've been a bit behind on that and Sarah's been doing AMAZING at it, I've just been hanging out :P

Ideal BOTM Guideline:

September 25: Open the October BOTM discussion, send out a short letter about how the September BOTM went, and the opening of Octobers thread with a deadline for suggestions about the 30th.

September 30: Open a poll, send out the link and hype up the choices. Give a poll deadline of about October 3rd.

October 3: Send the monthly newsletter with the BOTM winner, important updates, maybe games, giveaways, buddy reads or whatever that needs to be hyped up or told about.

Then halfway through the month we should begin making a list with things that should be fixed or changed for next month.

Does this make sense? its just the ideal planning for any BOTM i just used September and October as an example. The dates can be played around with but tell me what you think.

aww thanks :) I just gave Anna a list of things too so you could msg her and work together. We need a basic clean up of random, old, or forgotten threads, new threads for all the new and popular books or movies and stuff, refreshing convos and games to get them going again and just giving life to the group again.

The blurb at the top of the group could be updated since I wrote it like 2 years ago and the book references can be updated.

But I'm glad everyone wants to help :) I was starting to despair!
