Day 1 of March we got a new thread. It's stickied. The February one is unstickied. All is right with the world!
Thanks!
I just finished listening to Wizard and Glass (My Review) on my audiobook re-'read' of the Dark Tower series. Now on to Wolves of the Calla
Thanks!

I finished Wizard and Glass recently and loved it. This is my first time through Dark Tower. I am planning on picking up The End of Eternity next.
due to a little mix up I've started 2 "gravity" books: Gravity and Gravityand since I'm one of the people who like books that are for some reason connected (usually not due to the same series) I've got myself 3 other stories with "gravity" in title. I'll see how this little experiment will end ;P

Just to throw another in the mix, I'd suggest Gravity! =D
I will be finishing Warbreaker soon. Secret Teddy Society: Breaking The Code will follow and if I finish that before month's end I will end the Genesis of Shannara series with The Gypsy Morph.

Interesting idea! I have done multiple books with similar genre types (like all time travel) at the same time. I found that exhausting. :)

Sounds interesting :D I might check it out
I have started another series as soon as i finished The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox. It's not a short read, but boy is it ever a fast and enjoyable one. As of March 1st i only have 13 chapters left of it. I only fear i have to wait at least two more years fo the last one. That's the reason why i will most probably delay reading those last few chapters, out of fear that i won't see adventures of the red haired trooper/begger/theif/magician/assasin/barman for a very long time.I am, of course, talking about The Kingkiller Chronicle.
Laurențiu wrote: "I have started another series as soon as i finished The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox. It's not a short read, but boy is it ever a fast and enjoyable one. As of March 1st i only have 13..."Great series! I liked the second book even better than the first.
@Laurentiu - I'm in the middle of The Wise Man's Fear and I am having the same conflicting feelings. I've taken a break to read this month's pick so Kvothe will still be around for a bit a longer.
After seeing many people here laud Larry Correia, I got Hard Magic from the library. The middle was a bit slow, but I really enjoyed the beginning and the end.
Hello, I'm starting my Ph.D. in Sci-fi and would love to have some help here... Can someone suggest good cyberpunk novels, especially those other than the classics? I am focusing on dystopias, and possibly on feminist cyberpunk, if that exists... Would truly appreciate any help... Thank you..
Just finished Mistborn: The Final Empire audiobook and loved it!! Eagerly waiting for my March credits to continue the rest of the series. Also continuing on The Story of the Stone as part of the trilogy. My February ban of buying books is over so I'll probably jump back in my Star Wars reading fest.
Foram, that sounds awesome. I recommend starting a new thread just with that question. You will get a lot of feedback.

Foram wrote: "Thank you Sandi, will start a new thread as you suggested... Can you please tell me how to start a new thread? I'm new here..."On the top of main discussion listing, look for a teeny-tiny link that says "New topic". It's a bit hard to see, but it's there.
I just finished listening to Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs and am almost done reading Sense and Sensibility, the one without sea monsters. I'm new to Jane Austen, but am enjoying the non-Bronte quality of her work. I am really going to try to get through the audio of Downbelow Station next week. I resolve not to let myself get sidetracked by fluff.
Sandi wrote: "I just finished listening to Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs and am almost done reading Sense and Sensibility, the one without sea monsters. I'm new to Jane Austen, but am enjoying the non-Bronte qual..."Sense and sensibility is my second favorite Austen, my first is Persuasion but I'm in the minority. Almost everyone seems to love Pride and Prejudice most (the zombie version is fun though).
Finished the second book in Brent Week's Night Angel Trilogy Shadow's EdgeMy Review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Starting Peter V Brett's The Warded Man
Started on Reamde by Neal Stephenson. It's quite thick. Enjoying it so far, but starting to think it's a bit slow-paced. Really enjoying the virtual world there, it seems to be a mashup of Ultima Online and World of Warcraft, and unfortunately quite impractical.Might have to take a lil break from it to read Downbelow Station.
Finished up Star Wars: Scoundrels. Listening to Downbelow Station on audio, and have started my first steps into the Dresden verse with Storm Front.

The first book, is descent, but was his first novel so the writing is a bit rough. I think it just gets better with every book in the series.

Jenny wrote: "Just started The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes, very different from her previous novels."So jealous.... Not released here until June I think. You have an ARC?
I put Gun Machine by Warren Ellis down for a bit... Feb was a light reading month ( I read in spurts), but for March I plan on finishing that, doing the rest of The Human Division and this month's read. Might do more if the mood takes me.

Yeah I got approved to read it through NetGalley. I felt special!
Just finished The Nekropolis Archives. I thought it would be a February read, but hadn't realized it was a complete series omnibus! :-)Now reading the Oz Reimagined: New Tales from the Emerald City and Beyond althology, with the The Mad Scientist's Guide to World Domination: Original Short Fiction for the Modern Evil Genius anthology on deck.
Reading The Golden Age of Death right now.In a few days, I will start Frost Burned, to be released on March 5th.
Of course Downbelow Station.
Maybe 1 or 2 other books, depending on how much time I have left.
I finished Downbelow Station early, so I've moved into Rise of Empire. I also have The Android's Dream and Mistborn: The Final Empire from the library, as well as the last book of Bridge of Birds trilogy on the nook. That should keep be busy for now :P
I'm reading Iron Kissed (Mercedes Thompson #3) by Patricia Briggs now. Next on my list is one I have been waiting for The Last Threshold by R.A. Salvatore. It's the newest Drizzt book and I have been addicted to these since he started them. Also this month, going to be picking up Bloodfire Quest: The Dark Legacy of Shannara by Terry Brooks. My month for two of my favorite writers.
I am not really sure what this month is going to bring. I am currently reading Brasyl, which I am having trouble getting into. On my Malazan read, I am going to get The Bonehunters done this month, and maybe Reaper's Gale if I'm really aggressive. I've been getting more and more excited to not read books in between the further I get along. Also on the list, depending on time / when they become available at the library:
The Aylesford Skull
Childhood's End
The Best of All Possible Worlds
Consider the Fork: How Technology Transforms the Way We Cook and Eat
The Desert Spear
Kristina wrote: "I finished Downbelow Station early, so I've moved into Rise of Empire. I also have The Android's Dream and Mistborn: The Final Empire from the library, as well as the last book of Bridge of Birds..."Ohh, I just started Mistborn myself!
I just finished The Novice by Trudi Canavan and will be starting The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis tonight and probably also reading Paladins of Shannara: The Weapon Masters Choice by Terry Brooks (short story) at some point in the next week or so.

I don't think it was a difficult book but I do think you have to be just in the right mood for the book.

I'm starting on Frost Burned (#7) now, and hoping for the best.
Check the Alpha and Omega series, also by Mercedes Thompson, which rocks. It is even better than the Mercedes Thompson one, afaic.
I'm making very slow progress with Dickens' Bleak House but I'm enjoying it; it's just so different from the type of books I normaly read.I've recently started The Lies of Locke Lamora and so far (only about 100 pages in) I'm really enjoying it.
Jason wrote: "Reading the Dresden Files series at the moment, on book four now"I hope you're enjoying it, Jason! One of my favorite series. Probably due for a re-read of it soon for myself. You've got some fun adventures ahead. :-)
Dharmakirti wrote: "I've recently started The Lies of Locke Lamora and so far (only about 100 pages in) I'm really enjoying it. "I'm really looking forward to listening to that on audible.
Carson wrote: "I'm reading a Doctor Who novel called Shada. First DW book and it's really good so far! Last year we did two books that were turned into movies. Maybe at some point this year we should do a book that was written in a universe established in film or television.
Just picked up Liar's Harvest, Michael Langlois's 2nd installment in a world of immortals and Lovecraftian elder ones. Still waiting for an ebook of Downbelow Station to emerge.
Currently: The Three Musketeers Then I am aiming for Maps of Time: An Introduction to Big History, Historical Thinking and Other Unnatural Acts: Charting the Future of Teaching the Past and maybe The Shining.
