Gisbelle | 25787 comments I am reading Lucid by Adrienne Stoltz ... a bit confusing sometimes since the story jumps back and forth between two girls' lives. But I am loving it!

message 2: by Marie (new)

Marie | 56 comments I'm reading Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand and really enjoying it. There was a couple of moments where Clara really annoyed me but I don't mind because when a character is not perfec, I feel more conected to the book and I like that she'll have the possibility to grow in the series.

And from what I've been hearing, that series has one of the rare love triangle that works and maybe the next books will make change my ming but for now, there's only one boy for me that really stands out :)

message 5: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Yeah new thread! Means I don't have to scroll through 4 pages because Goodreads system doesn't know what the newest post and page is.

Currently reading:
Jane Jones Worst. Vampire. Ever. by Caissie St. Onge (almost done, and it is really funny) and then I will start with the Copycat Challenge: How to Save a Life by Sara Zarr

Mehsi Gisbelle wrote: "The title is so funny Mehsi :) Jane Jone Worse. Vampire. Ever. I so want to read it :D"

Yeah that is what pulled me to check the book out. And it is a great book. It has comedy, but also drama and romance and lots of interesting twists. :) If you are looking for a vampire book that isn't like all the others, then I would recommend it. :)

Daphne Q | 134 comments OK... it's March 1... time to pick a new book. I gotta go with the "Freshman Year" selection. It sounds interesting and the main character (Kelsey) is about the same age as the main character in my book.

Mehsi Gisbelle wrote: "That sucks Mehsi. I'm not sure what's wrong with me :( I can't seem to enjoy any books lately."

Yeah, and while I want to quit reading it, I know it is a challenge thing so I will just have to read it, but it won't get a good rating this way. :(
And I have the same problem. I got many books but for some reasons most seem to suck, while normally I would love them. :(
Lets hope we both will soon be enjoying books again.

message 17: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments :( I still haven't read it yet.

message 26: by Marie (new)

Marie | 56 comments I've just finished Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand and I really liked it and can't wait to read the rest of the series. But while I didn't hate the love triangle, I don't really see yet why so many people seem to think that it's one of the series where the love triangle works. Maybe I'll change my mind later about him since it seems like we will see a lot more of him in the others books but I found Christian soooo boring. Like I said, I don't hate the triangle or Christian but it will really take some kind of miracle for me to become torn between Christian and Tucker. But still, we never knows ! :)

I've started Ten by Gretchen McNeil .I really like the plot so far but it's been a while since I've hated a main character that much. I got it, she wants to be a writter so she's always watching people and noticing stuffs but I think it's annoying that so far Gretchen has wrote the book in a way that make it look like the main character is the only character that knows how to use her brain...She's the only one who has ''ideas'' to solve the situation that the characters are in. THE ONLY ONE. And I hate that the love interest is always so impressed by everything she does. He's always like '' OMG that was ''brillant'', you're so ''smart'',argh.

Spoilers( nothing important): Obiously(yes, I'm sarcastic), since she's the only one used to noticing stuff because she wants to be a writter and everything, and so she's the only one to catch on that a character is having an allergic reaction and so she give him an Epipen shot and the love interest is all ''OMG, how did you know what to do?!?!?!''. Humm....I get that not necesserely would have know what to do but I really don't think it's such a shock that someone actually do...

If that was the only moment like that it wouldn't have been such a big deal to me but really, it feels like Gretchen purposely created 9 dumbs characers so that the main one could stand and seem likeble out wich ironically makes me hate the main character and liked the other ones.

Anyway, despite that, I really like the book itself and the plot. It's such an addictive read.

Well you know what I thought of how to save a life. :)

Ah more characters.. Mm well I don't mind, as long as it is clearly shown when which character speaks. I really hate it when there are more characters and they switch in the middle of a sentence or chapter without warning.

message 28: by Mehsi (new)
