The story of the boy has just made me cry!"
Wow.
You know, I never appreciated libraries until my late 20's. Now, I can't imagine my world without them.

Really? How sad! I remember trying to go to school even when sick if it were library day!
I've been silly busy over the past month so only been half around.
Had a food festival to organise and run, my choir had their summer concert to prepare and perform at and being part of a summer community theatre production which took up most of my time. Yesterday was our last night and couldn't have been more proud to be part of the production.
If you're interested here's a peak of what I was involved in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3Jtn...
(The singing you hear is me .... and the rest of the choir)
I am glad to be getting my life back though .... the idea of leaving work and going home to do nothing is so appealing at the moment!
What's everyone else been up to?

Wow! I would have loved to have seen that. What a production!!

After joining this group and reading 60 books in that year I ended up creating a blog called http://chouett.com/ where I post my reviews and luckily I also get to interview authors.
Let's see what else the future holds...
Looks like a great show, Lynn! Congrats on your blog, Virginie! I've been super busy lately too, but bot really accomplishing anything to talk about. Just lots of work stuff, house stuff, family obligations. Keeps me busy.

Thanks Viginie, it was amazing thing to be part of.

@Virginie: your blog looks great. Keep going! :)"
Thank you so much! :)

Virginie, the blog idea sounds great, keep my fingers crossed for the success :)

Thank you Anima!! :)

I'm so disappointed! The City of Mirrors was supposed to be out this October and now the new release date states Dec 31, 2016! I feel like I've been waiting forever for this book. I'm propbably not going to remember half of the previous books when it finally comes out. :(
Also, did anyone else notice that there is now a page count for Winter? It is currently listed as 824 pages! That's way more than I expected.

Ah that doesn't surprise me, I've been hearing through various booktubers that it was going to be a long one.

I had no idea! I was shocked. I planned to read it for a challenge before the end of the year, but it looks like it may take me longer than expected. Still can't wait to read it. :)

I've pretty much started doing that this year.
I've pretty much started doing that this year.
This is the first time it's really been a problem for me. I thought it came out in October of last year, so I thought that I only had a couple of months to wait. Then, I saw that it was October of this year. I'm not sure if that was a date change or just my mess up. But to see December 31 of next year was awful. That will be 2 and a half years between installments. I'm sure I'll forget a lot of it and the books are pretty long, so I really don't want to do a re-read. I'll probably do a summary read or something.
Help! I can't decide what to read next: Since you've been gone ( by Morgan Matson) or All the bright places (by Jennifer Niven); which one do you recommend? :)
Thank you, Kristie. I'm officially starting it tonight.

I see you decided to go with All the bright places (which I've not read) but I urge you to still read Since You've Been Gone after. I love Morgan Matson books and that one didn't disappoint, I loved it.

I wanna know who picks the books! Get them on the phone! We need to chat!
What?! You don't want Stuffology 101?! haha I've been noticing that too and they're mostly about $3.95 too.

It is NOT just you. At least, they're helping my budget. But I remember a lot of the past daily deals were books I really wanted. I got EUPHORIA by Lily King, for example.

BAHAHAHAHA!

Sometimes when I look at friends shelves, and I see the "audible shelf" I'm like... what?! when?! Where was I? When that was on...
With the Canadian/US exchange I really cannot afford the audible monthly subscription right now. I was counting on deals and have found NONE!
Thank goodness my library has Hoopla and does online audiobooks (but the selection is pretty weak).

I would NEVER cancel my subscription. I get 1 book a month plus the specials. It's just wonderful. Also, there are some good deals when combined with Kindle deals.
So, today is my birthday. My best friend bought me a book I already had... felt so bad when I told her that. She was sooooooo happy when she gave it to me...I feel terrible :(
Hahaha no, she kind of hates reading...

Today's audiobook is The Fire Sermon. It's a YA post-apocalyptic story for $3.95. From the blurb I have questions, which may end up being a plot hole, but I bought it anyway. A friend is reading and said she's really enjoying it.

I will post a comment in the buddy request thread, if anyone feels like reading it ASAP.

lol
So what does everyone think of the changes to the look of Goodreads?
I have to say I'm struggling with it at the moment. Everything is a bit washed out and gives the impression of being slightly blurry. Much more difficult to read :/
