Andrez (andrez-ssi) hmmm the hardest things are
1stopping
2reading it too fast (which means it will end too fast)

Lydia I hate it when you get to a spot, and you know something's going to happen and you don't want to read what's about to happen, and you stop reading the book, but you want to finish it.

did that make sense?

Carrie (icanhasbooks) Picking out what to read next
Being interrupted.
Having it flop on you, you know the ones that start out so good only to either bore or just end up being bad.
Books that are so great that you enjoy every moment only to have it end leaving you wanting more of the story/characters only to find out there will be no more :(

Sam (ecowitch) | 42 comments The hardest thing for me is also trying to decide what to read next, there are just so many I want to read that I can't choose (luckly the random sort on my to read shelf helps with this a lot lol), that and trying to focus on only a few books at a time. I'm like Chelsea, I can happily read numerous books at the same time and not get confused but I must control it or I'd end up with dozens on the go all at once lol.

I'm not a fan of being interrupted when reading but it takes a lot as I seem to be able to shut most things out (had a lot of practise as a kid, people seemed to enjoy trying to annoy me when I had my head in a book) so quite often they have to block my view if they want something lol

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Hardest thing is getting so into a book that when it ends its hard to snap out of the world and try other books for a time, mind too dedicated to the one story you just read.

Also, I have to be firm with myself on reading at night. I used to accidentally oversleep and miss work sometimes years ago when I was younger - lol - from staying up all night stuck in a book. Books, night time, and having to get up early the next morning can be a dangerous threesome for me.

Ruby Hollyberry | 8 comments I can sympathize with the back stuff. It is sick but I read SO MUCH that I have reading-related physical problems - a knot in the left side of my neck that is always more or less messed up and sometimes spreads to the top of my shoulder, and pain in the tendons of my left wrist from holding the books!!! I try to swap off in recent years, but usually if I get lost in the book I come out of it with left hand poised and head cocked to the left.

But the hardest thing for me is reading books until they fall apart and having to replace them and being sad that I don't have the same cover or edition I once did. They're mortal, and have a lifespan. :( DON'T TRY TO TELL ME ABOUT EREADERS, OKAY? Technology is much worse in my opinion. I have a genius for breaking anything electronic or even mechanical and usually my phones end up in the washer and dryer. An ereader would last about a month at most before I'd find some creative way to kill it. What happens to coffee makers around me is unholy.

Kassandra Holloway | 6 comments I have the same problem as Stef I read at night an thats when I get to a really good part so I keep reading and keep reading, I end up going to sleep at 1 or 2 then i wake up at 6 a.m so i am extremlly(!!!!) tired. Then I dont have anuff time to read during the day so I read again that night.... I have to admit I have a problem. :(

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Hardest thing for me is losing sleep when I get really into a book. In the past years I've actually overslept for work because of this. Been awhile thankfully since this happens. I keep reading and tell myself I need to go to bed but doesn't happen. Because of this try not to really read books at night anymore when I have to get up early the next morning, unless I'm absolutely sure I'll finish the book within a few hours.

Jack (echoicglory) | 7 comments I really don't want to think about it, but a few things come to mind... A few really annoying things...

1) Being interrupted. Like... "Hey, have you seen this case, etc"... For heaven's sake, it's my break time can't you just leave me in peace so I can read the freaking book and not have to read the same line fifty times?? Yes, I hate being interrupted while reading. My family usually leaves me alone.

2) Sleep deprivation. Last week was hell for me because I was going through The Hunger Games back to back. I had almost through the weekdays and end up sleeping like I've been dosed up with tranquilizer for the entire weekend!

3) Character death. I don't know why, but character's death got to me and it usually makes me wanna go back and re-read the lines fifty times just to make sure I did not read it wrong and half-hoping I actually did read it wrongly.

Other than that, I don't really have a problem. I can finish a book without any hitch, I know it's going to end anyway, so I just get over it quickly...

WTF Are You Reading? | 7 comments One of the hardest things about reading books for me is having to change formats. (Audiobook, ebook, bound) I have had to do this while reading series because one source for let's say my audiobooks didn't have the entire series available.

message 62: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (smmrgrl) | 6 comments 1) Disengaging my mind from the last book to read the next. Sometimes I just have to wait a week or longer to let my mind clear.

2) Abandoning a book. Some are just too plain awful to finish reading, and although I can count on one hand the times I've done it, I don't like to.

We won't talk about how long I keep library books sometimes. I haven't exhausted my library's renew limit yet so I'm not sure what it is but it's got to pretty high (I think my max is five times).

Camille Richer | 7 comments Sometimes, I have to much tinghs to thnk about...so I can't concentrate on what I read. Especially when I read in English, because it's my secound language...

message 66: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (porterak) sad to say that sometimes for me is that I can get sleepy at times. But that doesn't happen often because if the book has me I usually don't stop reading. Also I have problems on picking the next one to read because I want to read so many.

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

The hardest thing about reading a book for me is finding uninterrupted time to immerse myself in the story. I always want to disappear for longer than I should!

Kelly (kshelley83) | 17 comments Me too Maggie! But someone always needs food or I need to go to bed or something.

Kelly (kshelley83) | 17 comments Going to bed when you have an amazing book in progress (or two in my current case...)
