I'm up for just about anything as long as I can get my hands on it. Do you guys want to read through another series or do single books?
It doesn't matter to me either. I think we all have a ton of books on our TBR list that we can choose from.
I'm not reading ahead this time, either. I made myself promise. It's much more fun being able to discuss as you go without having to worry about spoilers.

Hah, me too! The test is still a few weeks away, but I have to write 5 essays in 24 hours ... and the questions can pertain to any combination of 30 books.
meep!
I am so glad I am not you. LOL
I hated essays in college. I still have recurring nightmares about that time of my life.

Haha! Oh, you'd hate to be in my class then. I make my students write 9 essays in 16 weeks.

Well. People called Don being sick. It's cute how Cat thinks she can fix everything with vampirism. I like how quickly she's fallen into that way of thinking.
I don't have a lot to say. That mesh shirt description was hott, double t. I think Bones is being a bit callous about using people as bait, and it seems out of character, given his whole "my people should be loyal" thing. I think he at least should have run the plan by them...

It is nice to just kind float back into it. It happens easily too, which I suppose is a facet of good world and character building on Frost's part.

Cat should understand where Don is coming from not wanting to be turned vampire. She felt the same way for a long time. And Justina out fighting? That is going to be trouble.

Oh my gosh yes. I think I blocked out the Justina bit.
I am really just ... not ... no. I think I want Justina dead. I didn't mind her as an evil harpy mom, and I didn't mind her as mom who bangs Rodney. But vampire mom ... I just don't want her anymore.
I actually agree. I think they should have let her kill herself or something. I think 'vampire mom' (I like that) is a bit too much.

Also: Yay Vlad :)
I can't believe y'all are haten on Justina! She will make a kicka$$ vampire mom. LOL Where do you think Cat's attitude came from?
I think now that Cat has embraced her vampirism she is willing to introduce others to it.She doesn't want to lose Don so changing him would be the way to go.
Bones is a practical vampire and he will use anything to its best advantage.
I can't stand Tate!!!

What you talking about Alyssia? You read over, too.
I will admit I do have a problem. When the book is good I can't seem to stop myself from reading it.

Lol! You can have Bones. I'll take Vlad.

I haven't read all the way to 14 yet, but I wanted to write a couple of things before I forgot them.
What do you think of Timmie coming back? Hmmm...and I already forgot the other thing I was going to mention. I'll be back later when I've finished reading :)

Haha, that almost sounds like my brand of bitterness.
I was happy with Timmie's return. I mean ... or indifferent. Not mad.
Not like say ... you are the new Joan of Arc and the exact same shit happened several hundred years ago but nary a whisper about that til now.
THAT was irritating.
I have started today's section, but not finished it and I probably won't until tomorrow. Wednesday is my crazy day, so I tried last night to get through it, but I only made it to chapter 19. Maybe in the class break I will be able to read it, and then I can post before bed.
In each new book things are revealed that have happened in the past and have baring on the present. Joan of Arc being a hybrid and her assination to prevent civil war between the ghouls and the vampires for example.
Alyssia, you are rubbing off on me. LOL

Lecturing today about inductive and deductive reasoning. Blech.

About the whole Joan of Arc thing...like you said, Leigh, each book has some sort of significant person or happening from the past that relates to Cat or someone around her. Again, though, if Frost is going to be name dropping she really needs to back up her stories a bit more. Obviously she can't bring Joan of Arc back into the story at this point, but I don't know...maybe she could have made more of a background story than just a couple of paragraphs.
Oh yeah...notice how she brings up past characters (Spade/Denise) but they aren't actually in the book. Is that just to make sure we don't forget about them?
And even Cat notices that Kira runs the show with Mencheres. For a 4000 year old vampire, he's kind of a pushover :)

Just read the part with Marie. She's scary creepy. She had to have a reason, though, for giving Cat her blood. I'm assuming one of her powers is going to be able to help Cat beat Apollyon.
Marie has a reason for everything she does. She likes Cat but can't openly support her. Giving Cat her blood is her way around that. It will give her an advantage in the coming war.
The scene with Cat chained to the wall reminded me of Mac when she was sex crazed chained with Barrons.

I think if I was a fictional character I wouldn't mind being chained and having mind blowing sex with Bones or Barrons.

I was thinking that exact same thing.
And I guess I spoke too soon about Denise not being in the story :)

Lol! No kidding! Either would be fine, I wouldn't be picky :D

Quotes I like.
“Before we go, I gotta know: If mind-reading abilities are real, there's something else I wondered if fiction got right about vampires-"
"Ask me if I sparkle and I'll kill you where you stand," Bones cut him off with utmost seriousness.”
― Jeaniene Frost, This Side of the Grave
“What the hell was that?” I gasped. “Premature inflammation,” he replied. “Happens sometimes. Very embarrassing. I don’t like to talk about it.”
