Dhfan4life | 10411 comments As per some of the new changes I plan on making for the group. I thought I would start off with some of the basics. One of which is acknowledging that although we are lovers and devotees of the Author Goddess's fine work. We are also readers in general to the core. So in this thread, all who post here will share with us what other books they are reading. Possibly even share some recommendations. And in general start chatting about what other authors tickle our collective reading fancy. :)

Tegan (teggs) That is a fantastic idea! I can kick it off with Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. Its a wonderful world full of different "species" such as vampires, lycaes and valykries! A fantastic read interesting plot lines and characters that you love and some that you wish would just go away!
She also has just recently started a spin off series called the Dacians which follows a "family" of vampires! It is best to start that series after you have read Lothaire otherwise there will be a couple of spoilers in it.

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Love them(Kresley Cole), Tegan, I have nine of them myself.
I am into the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward right now and the next will be Brenda Joyces Dark series. Another Dark series is by Christine Feehan.

message 4: by Tegan (new)

Tegan (teggs) I have read he BDB myself, they are just as good! Havent read the other 2 yet but i have a long list of books i want to read that i havent got to yet so i will add them as well

message 5: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t | 180 comments I've not read either of the Dark series that you mention but have read and like them. Have you tried Midnight Breed by Lara Adrian they start similiar to BDB but branch off to their own territory after a few books. Scansguards by Tina Folsom is also worthwhile and I am enjoying Elder Races by Thea Harrison and Sentinel Wars by Shannon K. Butcher among others.

message 6: by Arianne (new)

Arianne (biatchwithwifi) | 127 comments My PNR fave list:
BDB by J.R. Ward
Immortals After Dark & The Dacians by Kresley Cole
Lords of the Underwold by Gena Showalter
Daemonica & Lords of Deliverance by Larissa Ione

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ya, awesome start to the new threads ladies. :)

I'll dive in here and say that at the moment I presently have Larceny and Lace (A Vintage Magic Mystery, #2) by Annette Blair by Annette Blair on my night stand. And personally she isn't a rush out and read author for me. But this is a cozy mystery type of series with a vintage clothing store owner at the helm, so it's interesting for now.

As for other authors I have enjoyed picking up. I will say Kate Quinn for her historical fiction works. Definitely Larissa Ione for Lords of Deliverance(which I so need to get back to), Terra Lynn Childs, young adult author I'm reading at the moment for her Medusa girls series. And plenty of others I know I'm forgetting at the moment as it is a little too early for me right at the moment.

I've read the Dark books by Christine Feehan for a time. Have you tried out her Ghost Walkers and Sister series(can't recall that one for the life of me but starts out with Magic on the wind, I believe)?

Dhfan4life -- you did a great job on the new threads. Thanks!

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Thanks Pat. I find though the adding of new threads is the easiest. Wading through all the other info and removing most of that is going to be the tricky part.

I started with her Ghostwalkers (the first was the guy in the wheelchair) and I like her witches as well the seven in the beach house but I haven't read all of them yet.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments The I Am Not A Serial Killer series by Dan Wells is pretty good. Follows 16 year old John Cleaver who is in the making of becoming a serial killer but trying to control those homicidal urges. The Gretchen Lowell series by Chelsea Cain, a detective is kidnapped by Beauty Killer, Gretchen Lowell ( a female serial killer who is twisted, intelligent, manipulative, and isnt the typical I have daddy issues so woe me) and tortured for 10 days but she turns herself in to save him and he develops a stockholm syndrome type relationship with her. Im waiting for the library to get the next book in the series in. Its crazy but I love it.......but I'm not crazy tho. Swear.

Oh and I adore Richard Kadrey. He's my new favorite. His sandman slim series is really good. Hitman spends 11years in hell and escapes so he can get revenge on the people who killed him and sent him there.

message 14: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Looking at what I recommended to you guys, its a wonder y'all don't think I'm crazy. Lol

On a lighter side though, The Graceling Realm series by Kristin Cashore is really good. The Alpha Pack by J.D. Tyler and The Experiment in Terror by Karina Halle (ok thats horror but it does have romance, well a lot of sexual tension between the protagonists of the series)

message 15: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I am in the third Wylder sister trilogy books. Read the second one first, then the first now I am finishing it off with the last :)
When You Wish Upon a Duke (Wylder Sisters, #1) by Isabella Bradford When the Duchess Said Yes (Wylder Sisters, #2) by Isabella Bradford When the Duke Found Love by Isabella Bradford

Be proud of me I read the Black Dagger Brotherhood and Brenda Joyces Masters of Time series in chronological order (heeding the advise of my well versed friends on GR here!!!!). Anything else I take as it comes till I figure out it is a series. I still go for the cover first, read the blurb, like what I see and read, read the book, notice there are more before and after, shake my head in despair, seek out my local library online and get a hold of the rest of them and start reading as they are coming in!!! Not much I can do about it ~pout~.

message 21: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Not sure if you have heard of her or not Shari. But Megan Hart does some colorful erotica. I've read Broken by Megan Hart The Space Between Us by Megan Hart Dirty by Megan Hart so far. Not bdsm exactly but great story and some hot scenes. Pretty realistic too.

Not really erotica but Succubi Diary series has some hot scenes and humor too.

Lila Dubois is another one that does bdsm erotica too. I've read Red Ribbon by her. I liked it til a particular scene happened. But was good before that.

Next Floor Naughty is great one too by Ann Cory. Not sure of how you feel about Knights of the Board Room that is some more bdsm, Joey W. Hill. My Pet by J.W. Mckenna was pretty interesting too.

message 22: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I just added red ribbon to the tbr list and I have dirty and broken already by megan hart. I'm checking out Ann now

message 23: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Sweet I might have to check out One Dark Night. There are so many great authors out there. I just don't go back to them as often cause they do so many other stories after that ONE really great one I've read. Or even before it that aren't even close to being something I would read at all. So rare for me read other options from the same author.

Have you tried out any of Zane's stuff,? Not really BDSM, but Urban erotica I think.

So yea she can definitely whip one into shape to say the least. I'm going to have to get around to Maya Banks. People keep talking about her. But for now I need to rest moi eyes. Shari-amor | 5275 comments Vampires

message 41: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments loved them, just cannot get a hold on Vampire Trinity (from the library). My favs are Gideon and Daegan Rai. In one of the later ones, it refers to Gs homophobia as he is ready to be active in the m/m relationship, not only the submissive receipient.

message 42: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ok, finally back around here to ask have you read any of these Shari? Passion Next Door (The Pleasure Brigade, #1) by Cara Carnes The Naughty List by KyAnn Waters Dare to Dominate by Claire Thompson Just Being Neighborly by Kaenar Langford
