Yay! I love Tuesday :-) some of his quirks remind me so much of my Blake :) I think that is why I liked it when I picked it back up.
Just finished "Who Was That Masked Man, Anyway?" by Avi. A 5 stars book for kids (I would say) between 9 and 12. Here is my review.
I finished
. I really really really liked this book. Not only was it a quick read, but it had a lot of emotion. The author drew me in to her story and it was easy to visualize the things she was talking about and going through.Next up is
. I have had it on my kindle for awhile now. It was a free download awhile back :)

Thanks. How do i find out about that, Sarah?
There is a buddy read section in the discussion list and there wiLlandudno be a thread labelled Dune. I'm on my phone at the moment so I can't link to it directly.
Lol. I really should read my posts before hitting send. I can't think what it was supposed to say now either. I have problems on touch screens with the space bar so words all merge and it tries to autocorrect the jumble.
I think you typed "will" and had to go back and correct the ll which filled in the Llandudno. Just as my phone does this all the time with its. I correct the ts, and I get "itsunami" much to Lexx's great amusement.
Stephen king-it as weird as it sounds I dreamt him telling me to read one of his books to join him again~yes I'm that obsessed with author So~

Finally Suspect got its turn and, oh boy, i couldn't put it down. I liked it a lot. Thanks for the rec here Stephanie, Berit, and TRAVIS ;)Debating on what to read next. I have these at the ready from the library:
The Red Leather Diary: Reclaiming a Life Through the Pages of a Lost Journal
Wool Omnibus
Angle of Repose
The Goldfinch
I was going to read Heir of Novron, but my ebook hold expired before i got to download so now i'm back on the waiting list, lol.
The author, Robert Crais, is coming out with a new book called The Promise and Maggie and Scott are supposed to be in it :)
Taking a break from The Aeineid tonight to start digging into Uprooted by Naomi Novik for my RL bookclub. So far it seems like a fun read. I'm nursing a headache tonight, so it's possible I will just sleep.

I'm still on the wait list (ebook) for Suspect but I'mso happy to hear you liked it too, TJ! Looks like I'll be jumping right on it once it becomes available. Thanks Travis for bringing it to my attention. ;)
I'm reading The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan. So far I like her style. I'm also reading two children books to review: The Blood Guard and Ghostly Thief of Time: An EMU Club Adventure
Stephanie wrote: "The author, Robert Crais, is coming out with a new book called The Promise and Maggie and Scott are supposed to be in it :)"Glad to hear that. Maggie and Scott are a good team. I especially liked how Crais wrote about Maggie and her point of view on things - like with smells being so important - but also references to things like "love being in the eyes" (not actually a direct quote, just my approximation).
Had a chuckle about Maggie drinking from what she calls the "large, white water bowl" in the bathroom. (My own girl Sheeba is uncanny about knowing when a lid's been left up on any toilet in range. Maybe she actually can smell the water more strongly then - if so, wow!)
Me too, TJ! I love it when authors write from a dog's perspective :) That is how A Dog's Purpose and A Dog's Journey are.
Another good one (but can be quite sad) is The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. Sorry can't link it since I'm on the app :(
I'm listening to The House of Hades for the series challenge and reading The Light Between Oceans for the this or that challenge.
I finally finished my reread of the Harry Potter Series yesterday. It took me a really long time to finish it since I kept picking up other reads between books. Now, I'm starting on my reread of the first Charley Davidson book since everyone here has been enjoying it so much. I'm definitely in the mood for a really good, light-hearted series and I'm really looking forward to picking this one back up!
I'm also working on listening to Flat-Out Love. I'm over halfway through and LOVING it. Julie moves to Boston to start college and ends up without anywhere to live. She luckily ends up moving in with the family of one of her mother's old friends. The little sister in the family carries around a life-size cardboard cutout of her oldest brother (Flat-Finn). Julie has no idea what this is about but accepts it and befriends the sister. I have a theory of why she carries around Flat-Fin... and I really think my theory is correct... and I'm pretty sure I am going to lose it when I find out it is correct. I had better bring my makeup with me incase the big reveal happens on my way to work... Mascara streaks down my face would just create questions that my coworkers would not understand the answers to as they are not readers and don't understand how a book can rip your heart out.
I'm also working on listening to Flat-Out Love."That sounds like a good book. I have added it to my TBR :-)
Kristie wrote: "I'm listening to The House of Hades for the series challenge and reading The Light Between Oceans for the this or that challenge."I read The Light Between Oceans for the This or that challenge, it was pretty good. Looking forward to seeing how you like it
I just finished Hammered for the series challenge. I didn't like it as much as the previous two books. Now on to Armada for the buddy read. I'm really excited about it. Still have The Song of Achilles on the go too but I haven't read much of it for a while. I seem to have lost my flow.

I'm reading One Good Dragon Deserves Another, which is the sequel for Nice Dragons Finish Last, my book for the month's challenge
I am still reading The Book of Salt from the Food Challenge last month. I am about half way through. I know that Roz was reading it and that Almeta was curious so I am posting here. I like it, but there are lots of parts that I do not quite understand. I don't think it is me. The point is just not clear. Maybe it is not supposed to be and it will be revealed later, I hope. Some sections flow nicely and others just seem to be chopped up and disjointed. Seems a shame to quit on it now, so I will carry on as I flip from one book to another. I finished a couple that I had going on and I am down to five that I am currently reading now. I may bump Pompeii off tonight. That will leave me with four. Two printed books and two audio books.
I picked up Moon Called and have been devouring it. Not my favourite, but exactly what kind of book I need. I feel myself coming out of this slump. I think I just need to read a couple more fluff books and I'll be all back to normal.Benefit is that when it's not pouring with rain here it's beginning to look like spring and that means reading in the garden in the sun. Maybe I just had the winter blues.
Sandra, I read Once We Were Brothers not that long ago. It was really good. I checked out Two Brothers and added it to my TBR. It seems to have a similar theme.Cherie, I held on to The Book of Salt and even renewed it a couple of times before I finally had to return it. I had a really hard time getting into it. I so wanted to like it, finish it. I'm going to have to go back and try again. I'm hoping it's just a mood thing. I've been struggling with Pompeii. I saw in the discussion thread that most of the readers like it. I keep starting books and putting them down if they don't grab me right away. No patience, I guess. Or maybe it's just a minor slump.
Glad to hear you have found a few books to get you out of your slump Rusalka. I had one at the beginning of the year and while I'm much better now, I am still much more of a mood reader than I ever have been and it doesn't take much to put me off a book at the moment. That's great Sandra! I know you were looking for those to read in their original language. I would imagine they are even more beautifully written in it's intended language. Enjoy!
Just finished reading Ghostly Thief of Time: An EMU Club Adventure, great read for 8-11 years old kids. My review here.Still reading The Bonesetter's Daughter and planning to start today or tomorrow The Museum of Extraordinary Things for my bookclub September meeting.
Finally finished Tiger, Tiger for the monthly theme read. I have A Game of Thrones with me on my trip which I may have to start because my nook just ran out of juice while reading A Radiant Sky. Last day of vacation so we'll see how much reading I can get done!
I'm still listening to The House of Hades (series challenge) and reading The Light Between Oceans (monthly challenge), but I'm also reading The Great Zoo of China as a NetGalley review. I am so far behind on my reviews. Most of them have been archived already.

I haven't gotten very far. The beginning didn't grab me and I'm in a bit of a slow reading phase (not quite a slump, but starting to feel like it). I have high hopes for this one though. My GR friends are all over the place with rating this one, but most of them rated it highly.
I am reading "Edge of Eternity" by Ken Follett. Picked it up for several reasons: 1) LOVE chunky books - this one is 1098 pages, 2) I LOVE Follett's books, and 3) this is book 3 of The Century Trilogy, so of course, I had to read it :)

Thanks : )"
Oh yes :-) I have also read A Dog's Journey. I recommend reading A Dog's Purpose first :)
I read another book by the author called Emory's Gift and it was really good as well. I have added a few more books of W. Bruce Camerson's to my TBR list. I just love his stories :)
