Since March is a month of spring, meaning that nature is coming alive again. Perhaps we could do something like bugs, animals or freaks of nature??

These horror authors have their birthdays in March. People could suggest one of their books...

Peter Straub
Arthur Machen
Algnernon Blackwood
H.P. Lovecraft
John Everson
K.W. Jeter
Dan Wells

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments Spring themed? The decadence of youth in honor of spring break? What about only books with green covers? Only authors whose names start with Mc?

message 304: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments As in McCammon? Lol. I'm down with that.

message 305: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments There is also Michael McDowell.

I would love to read some more McDowell. I've been trying to finish his Blackwater series--its great. McCammon is also a good choice, there's his Blue World book of stories.

message 307: by Andy (new)

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments Blue World is great. Only about half of the stories are horror, but there isn't a bad story in the book.

message 308: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I seriously have like 8 McCammon books I need to read including Blue World. McDowell is great too. Just got The Amulet recently and completed my collection of the Blackwater series but have only read the first one. Both are great authors!

Andy (manicsloth) | 787 comments Maybe it could be double McAuthor month with one book chosen for each author.

As it's St Patricks Day next month, I'm going to put up a thread for Irish authors for March group read suggestions.

Addy | 1944 comments Wud anyone vote for Dark Places or Every Secret Thing for June's group read? I just saw that both are becoming movies soon.

I've read both of those, but they are both actually pretty good reads. I have Sharp Objects, I've been needing to read that one.

message 316: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis I would be up for Every Secret Thing. Let me know when.

message 317: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments So you would be up for a buddy read Vicki?

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Every secret thing sounds good if I can find a copy to lend somewhere I am in.

message 319: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis Yes, Addy... It looks great! Whenever you want to get started.

message 320: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Ok. How bout the end of may? I got to dig through my stash and find it too...lol. I need another book shelf;)

message 321: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis Ok that would be good for me. Remind me, do you make a thread for it somewhere?

message 322: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Yes. I'll make a thread under buddy reads.
