Scott (ttownscott) Oh, yeah, I'd read that.

message 202: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I don't think I would, but wouldn't mind if u nominated it. I'd be interested in the discussion.

It would be great to nominate some thrillers or dark mysteries.

How about something by Karin Slaughter? I have only read a couple of her novellas but I enjoyed them. I own a couple of her novels that I hadn't gotten to yet.

Kate | 1106 comments Mod
Her early stuff is great, I enjoyed the Grant County series.

message 206: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Would anyone be interested in The Summer is Ended and We Are Not Yet Saved? Can someone tell me how many pages? If its not long maybe a buddy read?

message 207: by Maxine Marsh (new)

Maxine Marsh | 703 comments Mod
Amazon says 250 pages. That one looks interesting.

message 208: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Too short to nominate u think? I'd do a buddyread if ur interested? I need to check if its lendable because I think its 8 bucks.

message 209: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Thanks Maxine for checking. Its not lendable...bummer. I requested One Bloody Thing After Another. If its good, I may buy the other one.

message 210: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I've never read anything by Karen, so I'm not sure. I've been wanting to read mo hayder again. I read birdman and it was pretty good.

message 211: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I can lend you The Unremarkable Heart and Other Stories if you want to try a short story of hers.

message 212: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Sorry, I don't have the "and other story's" version. Just the one short story.

message 213: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I have one other short story of hers also but I don't remember the title.

message 214: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Thorn in My Side is the other one I have but it's not quite as good.

message 220: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Anyone know of a book that has a horror twist on the classic Peter Pan? I came across one and cant remember the name. Any help wud be appreciated:)

message 222: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Thanks Justin! Im not sure if those are it, but they look good so I will add them.

message 223: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Another pan looks good, I'm not sure about the other one. I watch once upon a time with my wife because it is one of the few shows she watches that I can stand and that has an evil Peter pan, have you ever seen it?

message 224: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments No, I haven't. I really don't watch anything other than the news. I started watching the Alice in Wonderland show, but lost interest.

message 225: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Yea we watched one of those and never watched any more. I rarely watch tv either but it is something we do together every Sunday night. It's not bad.

message 226: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments The only thing I plan on watching and my husband too is Under the Dome when it starts back up in June. I'm not caught up on Game of Thrones but I have crappy cable anyway. My husband wud rather be outside with a fire. Im starting to like it.

message 227: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I would much rather sit by a fire, I have already mentioned camping out in the yard when it gets warmer just so the girls can sit with us until bed time and after they are sleeping we can stay out and not have to take them into the house.

message 228: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
They love it as much as we do.

message 229: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Yes, we plan on doing the same. Our boys love a good fire. The downside is smelling like fire when u go to bed. My bedroom reeks of it! Need to open a window...lol.

I just noticed that one of my suggestions for next month's poll The Troop is on sale for 3.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B...

message 234: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) I'm going to have to site June out. Two week family vacation. Probably won't read much.

message 235: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I don't read on vacation either scott, or weekends for that matter. Family time always comes first. Doing anything fun?

message 236: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) Yeah, it's a big one for us. Two weeks in Hawaii. First week we will have some of my son's fellow high school grad's with us in Honolulu. Then we'll spend about a week on the main island visiting the volcano, and other sites with just the immediate family.

message 237: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Sound like a nice vacation, my wife would love to go to hawaii. We went to Florida for our honeymoon but that's the only big trip we have ever taken. hope you have a good time!

Nice, Scott, that sounds fantastic.

Dang it Justin, I totally missed the sale!

message 239: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I don't know how long it had already been on sale when I saw and posted it. It has been really popular lately you can probably find someone to lend it to you. There was a big buddy read at horror aficionados, you could post there asking if anyone would lend and probably get it.

message 240: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments I missed out on the sale too, but I didn't have the money to spare anyway. I have the Audible version of it though.

Hawaii does sound nice, wish I could go back there. Went there years ago and enjoyed my time there. Me and my wife went to Florida for our honeymoon too. Spent a week at the Club Med resort there. Definitely an enjoyable experience but probably not something I could do again. Went in March and timed it perfectly with the end of spring break there. Since we drove down we got to see how stupid a lot of people were on the expressway. Luckily we were going south because the road heading north was at a very long standstill due to the massive number of car accidents. It was so bad that there weren't any emergency vehicles at the last few we saw and don't see how they would have gotten through anyway. Stupid drunk drivers. There was a total of one accident going south, likely due to speed as there more traffic shortly ahead of where this car ran off the road and was on top of a small tree, lol. Everyone in that car seemed fine as they were all out of it and around the car on their feet

message 241: by Scott (new)

Scott (ttownscott) I've been to Florida a few times. Once to Disney world. That was fun with the kids, but I hated the humidity. I've also been down near the everglades for a conference. Loved seeing the aligators hanging out in the ditches along the side of the road.

message 242: by Robert Krone (last edited May 21, 2014 08:11AM) (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments We went down there in March, which is about the best time of the year according to my aunt who I finally met when was I down there. We went to the everglades, which was great. We were going to go on a night trip in the same place we went for a day trip to see the alligators, but my wife ended up not feeling well so we didn't do the night one. I could have gone by myself, but wasn't about to do that on my honeymoon, lol

message 243: by Deborah (new)

Deborah (brandiec) Scott, a word of advice about Hawaii. Don't let anyone go out on a boat unless you're sure they won't get seasick. I went out on a snorkeling expedition and get sick; a lifeguard had to swim out to the boat and bring me back to shore on his surfboard. Pretty embarrassing!

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 299 comments awesome! June's choices were very difficult to choose from. So many good books. I'm ready for The Troop.

message 246: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Would anyone vote for Last Days by Adam Nevill or Ex-heroes by Peter Klines? Sorry, I'm just thinking about future nominations.

That's what this Thread was first made for addy. I don't have last days but I have apt 16 and banquet for the damned I would vote for

message 248: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I know, I just felt like I was jumping the gun. Its not even June yet, lol.

Oh yeah, Apt 16 looks good! I don't have it, but its something to think about.
