Emerson sighed, tapping her fingers on her knee. "Maybe, but still..." She looked at Copper on top of Bones' lap. "I'm a bit out of practice, I guess. I used to be able to make swords and axes out of ice, and all I managed was tiny little icicles, which barely did anything."

Emerson stood and stretched, leaving the pillow in the chair and walking to the couch, climbing up onto the armrest he had indicated and balancing carefully. "Let's just hope it never happens again. Or we might be screwed." She absentmindedly played with one of his curls.

Copper yawned slightly before hopping off the couch and ambling up the stairs. She went into Bones's bed room and jumped up onto the bed.
Bones watched Copper leave before gently pulled Emerson down onto his lap. "But it shouldn't be to much of a problem. I'm good at avoiding people"
Emerson adjusted in Bones' lap until she faced him, setting her hands on his shoulders and looking at him carefully. "You want to move?" she asked slowly, assuming that's what he meant.

"I... I don't care about the store." Emerson bit her lip again, feeling like she was about to ask a dangerous question. "Do you want us to stay together?" she asked, meeting his eyes. "I mean..." Well, she wouldn't understand if he didn't, as they had been spending a lot of time together in the past few months, unless he was just looking for a way out. She pulled back her hands from his shoulders and hugged herself.

"I want us to stay together, too," Emerson replied, loosing a breath. She let go of the hold on her arms, wrapping them around Bones instead. "I care about you a lot." She pressed her forehead to his, taking another deep breath. "Where do you want to go?"

"Blegh, me too," Emerson groaned, dramatically tossing her head back. "Anyway..." She thought about it. "What about Maine?" She tilted her head forward again, looking Crispin up and down. "I think you would make a really hot fisherman," she teased, her eyes crinkling as she smiled.

Emerson gladly kissed Bones back, happy he didn't argue as she brought her hands up to his cheeks, her fingers playing through his curls. She pulled back after a second, having already thought of a new question. "And... I hate to ask, but would you want to get a place... Together?" she questioned, furrowing her brows.

Emerson smiled again, her head bobbing in answer. "Well, as long as your over grown cat doesn't try to crush me under her weight again, I'll be fine." She chuckled, looking at Bones. "Does this grumpy old demon snore?" she teased, still chuckling a little with her question.

"If your cat ends up killing me, my ghost is going to be really pissed," Emerson told Bones, smirking once again before pressing her lips to his forehead and sliding off of him to examine his wounds again. "How do they feel?" she asked, gently touching the skin around each wound to feel for fever.

"Hmm... The doctor thinks one isn't healing as fast as the other," Emerson told him, sounding far off as she moved to look at the one in his side. She huffed, sitting back on her haunches on the couch. "Does that one hurt more than this?" she asked, pointing from one to the other.

"Well..." Emerson sighed. Bones had told her not to worry but she would have rather been safe than sorry. "I'll be right back." She stood up and went to go find a clean towel and grab the bottle she had used earlier. "I can at least clean it again," she said when she came back, motioning for him to move so she could access it easier.

Emerson paused with the cloth on the bottle mouth. "Oh... She was in the alley next to my shop," she answered, tilting the bottle and pressing the cloth to Bones's side again. She was quiet for a moment before saying, "I just don't want to risk you getting sick," in explanation of why she was babying him.

Emerson sat up. "Well, you're right, but do you think your dad thought ahead like that?" Now curious, she peered at the wound closer, setting the cloth aside as she looked for any anomalies.

"Alright," Emerson breathed out, though still not sure about it. She leaned into Bones, pressing her face into his neck a little and breathing him in. She pulled back and planted a kiss on his lips before saying, "When would you like to leave?"

"I was hoping yiu wouldn't freak if I drove your truck back," Emerson joked, kissing Bones once more before standing and heading to where he had mentioned for Copper's food. "Sure thing." She found and grabbed one bag at a time, as they were heavy, and took them out to the truck. She planned in her mind who she would leave the shop with until she had the chance to sell it, which was easy because she knew of a simple second-generation angel herbalist a couple towns over who would jump at the chance.

"Sure," Emerson said as she heaved the last bag in the bed of the truck. She took another look at the house before smirking back at Bones, now a little jittery as she past him and climbed in the passenger seat, knowing he still had to take a moment to grab Copper.

Copper stretched and yawned a bit before shifting into a tabby and then just curling back up to go to sleep.
"Lazy old thing" Bones said with a laugh before picking her up and carefully carrying her back downstairs and out the door. He gently laid her in the back seat before getting into the driver's seat and speeding out of the driver-way and towards his other house. "What part of Main would you want to live in" he asked.
"Oh..." Emerson froze; she hadn't thought of that. "I mean, I don't really care..." She looked out the window and thought about it. "Why don't you pick? I mean, I chose the state, anyway. So it's your turn." She was sort of teasing, but did want him to pick.

"Works for me." Emerson shrugged, unbuckling and hopping out of the truck. She wouldn't be much use to him otherwise; she had no idea what he needed to wanted to bring. She followed him up to the house, heading to the closet an grabbing the toys first.

Taking these bags out to the car took a bit more effort, but Emerson finished as fast as possible and found Bones once she was done. "Anything else I can help carry out?" she asked, brushing his arm as she came to stand at his side.

Emerson tilted her head to softly kiss Bones back, taking his hand as they walked out of the house. "Or, you know, we could get a smaller place," she replied, winking before leaving his side to climb into the passenger seat. She made a mental list of the things she needed to grab. "When we get to Maine, do you want to stay at a hotel or whatever's around until we can find somewhere to live?"

Emerson feigned a shudder. "No apartments for sure," she agreed. The only reason she put up with her 'apartment' was because it wasn't a conventional apartment. She had it to herself and the only neighbor was her shop. "I guess we can look around when we get there, then." She climbed out of Bones' truck when he pulled in front of the shop, leaning back into the doorway to stop him from coming. "I don't have that much and there isn't a ton I can ask you to grab. I can get it if you don't mind waiting."

Inside the shop, Emerson grabbed her medical kit and filled it with potions and normal items alike, wondering what type of nature she would be able to harvest in Maine for the things she knew Bones would probably still want, as well as others that they would need. With a second bag, she grabbed her hefty savings of money and tucked it into her messenger bag, along with her camera and the picture Crispin had drawn of her and some other things. With a duffle bag, she grabbed her clothes and other necessities, surveying the apartment for anything else she needed. Once finished, she grabbed a notepad and pen and wrote a short note for her delivery boy to call a number and give a message she had written down, leaving it tucked in a mailbox next to the door for him. Then she grabbed her bags and headed out to the truck to unload and climb in, keeping the messenger with her.

Emerson had kind of been confused with where Bones was driving, as it didn't seem right, and thought it was really strange when he pulled into the alleyway. The familiar dizziness announced itself in her head again and she realized he had teleported them closer to their destination. What had he said? Oh... "A beach house?" she thought about it, and it honestly sounded amazing, especially with Bones. "That would be great..." She eyed him. "Are you okay, though? That was a lot to teleport at once."

Emerson kept silent for the few hours that Bones was driving, even dozing in and out for no more than five minutes at a time as they watched the towns pass. When Bones asked about stopping, she turned to face him and shrugged. "I'm tired, but I can deal. What do you think? I could drive for a bit if you want," she offered, knowing that driving would probably wake her up better.

Emerson watched Bones, briefly glancing at Copper in domestic form and understood. She smiled and nodded at Crispin. "That sounds good," she answered before facing the road again. A few of the towns they had passed seemed pretty and quiet, but they either wouldn't suit their needs, or they were too small of a town to be kidnapping and torturing people in, though she didn't voice that to the demon.
