McKensie and Lara III

Marc held her close "this is what I needed thank you Illi...this is a good mix of us both being cared for." He tucked her into his chest and kissed her hair and caressed her back and side "I love you...thank you for being such a good nurse...I think you would make a great one..."
Lacey gasped "you had Royal sex!" She hit his arm "naughty naughty! Ugh I can't even look at you right now." She laughed and hugged him "did you stay over? Does her mother know?" She whispered and giggled "this is so damdy!"

The Queen sat there with her as the doctor talked her through what he was doing.
Iliana smiled softly, glad that she had helped a bit. She curled up against his side and closed her eyes, allowing herself to just enjoy being tucked up against him, and in his arms. "Thank you, and you're welcome." She whispered, smiling. "I'm sure I'd do an alright job… but I couldn't deal with the stress." She said honestly.
James chuckled, pushing her away. "It's not like I haven't had sex before, Lacey. Just this time it's with someone I love." he ran a hand through his hair. "I snuck out of her place this morning. So I don't know if her mother figured it out or not."

Marcoux shook his head "I know...I know, but I just know it's your calling and you are so good at it. Plus I know the doctor downtown and they need nurses, they need kind empathetic and persevering girls just like my girl..."
Lacey smiled and shook her head "what if you impregnated the future Queen of Britain?" She sighed "want me to go get breakfast for you? You were trying to eat the butter earlier...mother tried not to laugh."

Iliana swallowed slowly. "I… I'll think about it." She promised, smiling a little then. "but I can't say I will or I won't." She added, raising an eyebrow. "I don't want to make any commitments yet. I don't know what the next days will look like, with being a lady of a manor." she said honestly. "But thank you for your faith in me."
James paled at that thought. What if he did!? Surely there were consequences for that! "I hadn't thought of that…" He admitted. Then he blushed. "I was wondering why it tasted so salty…." he joked, shaking his head. "Yeah. Food might be good." it was painful to not even be able to feed himself, but he just couldn't see.

Marcoux nodded and kissed her neck softly "I love you...I'll support whatever you do, and I'll be your biggest fan even if you don't become a nurse..." He promised and ran his hand down her side "I just want you even a part happy the way you've made me Illuana."
Lacey helped him to the table and got his meal set up so he could feel for it and frowned hearing a call and going to answer it "James it's Lydia...she needs you to come to the palace."

The queen was holding her daughter gently through all this, not saying anything. She just wanted to be there for her.
Iliana closed her eyes when he kissed her neck. "I love you too." She whispered back, smiling. "You've always been my biggest fan, and I can't tell you how thankful I am." She admitted, relaxing as he ran his hand over her. "And trust me, I am already completely content to just be here in your arms."
James thanked his sister as she got him a meal. He had managed to start eating it, when Lacey told him about the call. He immediately stood, worried. "Is she alright? Is something wrong? Did she tell you what it was?" he asked, panicked.

James's hand tightened around the phone when he heard that. Was he afraid? Absolutely. Would he not get the surgery because of that fear? Absolutely not. "I'll be right over." He promised, swallowing. "See you in a few minutes, love." he smiled, so his voice would sound cheerful, and then hung up, immediately getting a carriage prepared and riding for the palace.

James sighed in relief. "Will I be able to see?" he asked.
"You should. Call me if you can't" The doctor replied.

James smiled softly, shaking his head. "I've never formally introduced myself." He said, shrugging. "My full name is Jameson Henry Bartholomew Wendell."

Lacey was like a gossip grapevine she quickly went person to person "James is going to see and they are going to have a royal wedding!" She said to Maxwell excited "my brother is a Prince!"

Maxwell caught her around the waist and kissed her deeply, happy for her sake, and happy that she was so happy. "That is wonderful news." he said seriously. "We'll get to dress up and go to the royal wedding. Eat fancy cakes and dance the night away…"

Lacey laughed and hugged him "I'm helping Illiana with lady lessons today...do you have any suggestions or things Marcoux would enjoy her learning?"

Maxwell raised an eyebrow. "Lady lessons?" he inquired. Then he realized that the heirs and ladies of the manor all grew up learning about how to run a household, and live properly. He grew up mucking stalls. He knew nothing of running a household, just like Illiana. "Well. I enjoyed learning history. And the way ladies drink tea is just fascinating." He said honestly. "And horseback riding. That is an important skill." He added. "But other than that… I don't think I'm much help…"

Lacey nodded and smiled "thank you darling that does help actually...Marcoux has lessons for you as well, just a clear warning." She kissed his cheek running off to find Illiana.

Maxwell blushed, nodding, glad that he had ended up helping at least a little bit. "Awesome." he said feeling proud that he could be of some help. Then his eyes widened. "Lessons? Me?" he asked, surprised. "But…" he shook his head. Why did he need them? He thought he was capable.
Iliana saw Lacey come up and she smiled, waving. "Hi! How is everything coming along?" She asked, walking over to her friend.

Marcoux found him and smiled but chuckled as he saw his face of puzzlement "what is that face for Maxwell? I don't usually see it often except when you've been talking to Lady Lacey.
Lacey smiled "thought we could start on etiquette leasons this afternoon, the proper way to host a tea party."

Maxwell sighed, raking a hand through his hair, and shaking his head. "Oh I don't know. Maybe it has to do with the mention of lessons?" he shook his head. "Why do I need lessons? And what sort of lessons exactly?" he asked, confused.
Iliana smiled softly, trying to hide her nervousness. "Proper etiquette…" She repeated. "Well that does sound exciting." She admitted, not sure how well she would do on this, as she had never had these sorts of lessons. "Tea parties?"

Marcoux shook his head "just lessons on running a manor Maxwell, do not worry they are no big deal you know most anyways but Master Wendell insists upon it."
Lacey nodded "oh yes it is the ladies of the house responsibility to host grand tea parties for guests and there is certain ways of managing it and how to drink the tea."

Maxwell relaxed a bit and nodded, deciding that lessons wouldn't be so bad then. He could survive this. He had to do it anyways, so might as well make it fun. "Alright. Let's get started. What's first?"
Iliana pressed her fingers to her temple, feeling rather overwhelmed. Grand tea parties? Which she had to manage? And certain ways to drink the tea?? "Oh..... Ok?" She said softly, wondering if she could ever learn all that.

Marcoux grabbed his check list "managing the household, so I'm sure you kniw about the servants and their roles but do you know how to make sure they accomplish their job in time for each event?"
Lacey took her hand away "breathe Illi, it isn't that bad I oronise...it's like learning to clean a room step by step right?"

Maxwell sat in the library with him and listened. He did know about the jobs… but he had no idea how to over see them! "No… I don't really have any idea how to do that." he admitted.
Iliana nodded slowly, taking a couple deep breaths. "But what if I do it wrong? What if I mess everything up?" She sighed, thinking about it like cleaning a room did help a little. "Alright. What are the steps?"

Marcoux showed him the graph system for each job and how the military time clock worked "kitchen staff is always going so we can't manage them, trust me they get angry when you do...garden is first in the morning then the house cleaners and finally the ladies maids and footmen..."
Lacey explained each detail writing them down for her "it's that simple, and if you mess up realize its tea not a nuclear war bomb."

Maxwell looked over the graph, his eyes wide in surprise at how detailed and well thought out it was. The whole house ran like clockwork! "This is so intricate… however am I supposed to remember it all?" He asked no one in particular. There was a lot more that went into running a house than he first thought. And here he was, as a footman, thinking that a heir's job was easy!
Iliana watched as she wrote down the instructions. She tried to commit each item to memory so she would know what to do when the time came. "Alright. That sounds a little better than I first thought." She said. But what about behaving like a lady? She knew nothing of grace or poise or proper speech. "I don't know if I'll be able to make up for the years spent working and not learning this stuff…"

Marcoux chuckled lightly "no just keep the chart with you and a pocket watch and you'll be fine, you know how to care for the stallios so I don't need to teach you that...pay don't worry about it our banker does that for us..."
Lacey handed her an elegant littlr leather book "this was my life saver when I was a girl and im giving it to you, proper phrases and everything you need to know to be a proper lady. I mean if sassy crude Lydia can become a princess you certainly can become a lady."

Maxwell nodded then, relaxing a bit. Well that should make it easier. He folded up the chart again and slid it into his coat pocket. He already owned a small pocket watch. That would come in handy now. "Thank you. For this chart. Is there anything else I need?" He asked.
Iliana clutched the leather book like it was a lifeline. "Thank you so much!" she said enthusiastically, flipping through a couple of the pages. "This will be my best friend in the next little while, most likely." she said, shaking her head. "Hopefully I can become even a fraction of the lady Lydia and you both are."

Marcoux shook his head "it won't be a large household so you'll be fine, plus no one is expecting things from you. You'lol be married and not needing to be a heir playboy be grateful for that!"
Lacey shook her head "you'll be fine Illiana, you already are well mannered and polite your speech is clear and not crude, I say you already are s lady."

Maxwell nodded, leaning his forehead on his fingers. "thank you. For helping me with this." He said seriously. "I would be so lost otherwise." he admitted, looking up then. He had a small smile on his features. "We'll be masters, us both, Marc. Won't that be an adventure…"
Iliana hugged Lacey then, unspeakably grateful to have such a great friend. "I don't know what I would do without you Lacey." she said honestly. "thank you. For being my friend."

Marcoux chickled and nodded "except you'll have hundreds of kids running around and I'll have hundreds of dogs." He teased and shook his head "should Lavey get tested since you...the other night?"
Lacey smiled and hugged her "I need to talk to you...it's very personal and embarrassing..." She admitted her face already red "I don't know who else to talk about this..."
Iliana looked down, feeling badly for making things worse. She had just been trying to help. So she tried what he wanted, and she crawled into bed beside him, tucking her head against his chest. "Alright." She said, dropping her caregiving state, and letting the previous fear show through again. "I do need to be cared for too, Marc. I can't deny that what happened was scary. I just… I don't want you to suffer either." She said honestly.
James gasped and he grinned, shaking his head. "Well he finally asked!" He said, thrilled. "I couldn't be happier for you." he said honestly, kissing his sister's cheek. Then he chuckled. "How very perceptive of you. But that is none of your beeswax." he teased.
