This is probably a long shot, but this book has a brother and sister who attend an academy based on the moon and they live in a stationary spaceship. They do visit Earth again on a field trip with their classmates but I don't remember which book is the first time they do this. It's a series with 3-4 books.

I found this description....

They eventually make a trip to earth and have difficulty adjusting to gravity; they stay in a hospital where a vase of roses is repugnant to their lunar-raised sense of smell. From the hospital window, the boy sees a patch of green about a block or two away and is intrigued; this is the first time he has seen grass (or plants) so he sneaks away from the doctors to the nearby park; he gets panicky when he can not remember the direction of the hospital, and he passes out.
