In other series it was always the vampires I liked best.
And in other series its the Fairies.
So I am mutable depending on the book and how well the author creates a connection/pathos for these supernatural/paranormal creatures.
I think overall, in general, I gravitate to vamps, because they seem to have all the advantages. They live forever (or very long depending on the series), they are near indestructible, strong, fast, wicked, usually seductive, sexy beasts, and yet sometimes they can have a certain panache/class/nobility about them. They are often more than monstrous, having a lot of human qualities that make them more endearing. And there is often something tragic about a vampire, which adds a little twist to the character.
And vampires, to me, in my own writing, and in books I enjoy, are separated from the folly/rat-race of mankind. They sort of rise above all the petty crap we are mired in. They are not motivated by our selfish and foolish desires.
Okay, I will step off my soapbox now.
:)

I have a character I am developing now in my fourth novel, which is based on certain Asian/Persian mythologies, a fallen angel shapeshifter.
In researching this material, I found the myths surrounding these seductive creatures are phenomenal. Early Asian/Persian religions were like paranormal erotica. Makes excellent fodder for a twisted mind to weave a sexy, macabre tale.
This character will feature prominent in the rest of my series, and she is quite unique in the world of paranormal creatures.
:)

That's gotta be one of the most blatant spam jobs I have ever encountered.
No comment, no chitchat, got straight down to it in one line and a link.
Smooth, direct, and totally irrelevant to the discussion.
:)

Particularly drawn to this group.
What about Satanic themes, Devil worshipping etc? Is that a topic popular with this group....to read i mean!

I'm also rather fond of hellhounds. Perfect for fetching your newspaper when you don't want to pay the delivery boy. ;)

I hope this is not out of place but have you tried Shadow Pack by Marc Daniel
Without spoiling the book I'll just say that the story is about shifters. Yes, we have werewolf shifters but the MC isn't a wolf shifter. He's something else. It's not a love story though, it's more of a detective/thriller/fantasy kind.

I hope this is..."
No, I'm completely open to recommendations! Thanks, I will defnitely be checking that one out :)

I'm a big fan of Angels too!
Oh and sometimes the faerie kingdom fascinates me, but I guess that's the point (LOL!).

Faeries are interesting, but I can never trust them. *laughs* I always expect them to be either touched by evil or completely evil. But darned if I don't love reading about them.

I haven't read any books with the traditional faeries but the idea is intriguing. I'll have to start looking for them.

I'm into the ancient Sumerian deities. Lots of fun there. Sherrilyn Kenyon has been using some of them in her series.

If you haven't read it already The Enemy is a zombie series that I really enjoyed. When you come to werewolves I really liked The Last Werewolf.
My favourite creatures are Zombies for the fright-factor (I find the mindlessness of them particularly unsettling), Werewolves because I'm a canine-lover and Angels because, well, they're usually like "phwoar"!

And I am loving demons lately, thanks to the Veil series

I also enjoyed this one, with an angel & a demon(its MM tho, so not for everyone.)

I also liked the werewolves in this one

I'd love to find a great angel series; have had a lot of people recommend Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series, and I keep meaning to give it a go.

I don't have many angel books behind me, but GH is one of my most favourite series! You could also try with Susan Ee's Penryn and the End of Days series, I love her take on angels as well!
