What is a Reading List?
This reading list is a great idea. I'm getting a peek at what the other members' are reading, and getting more titles and authors to check out..LOL..Not that my TBR list needs more..but, oh well..
wow Yz....I love this section. I have been *shamelessly* lurking in reading lists and there is some really great stuff in there. I will post mine starting with July. Great idea, great section!
Glad you like the idea. As you can see, each individual has their own unique way of organizing their personal thread. It's actually fun checking them out.Good luck to yours!

Feel free to create your Reading List thread in this section. You can also check out the other members' thread to get ideas on how they arrange theirs.
It's a great way to keep track if you are participating in different challenges.

How do I post my own reading list thread?
Lindy-Lane wrote:How do I post my own reading list thread?."
Lindy Lane,
Go back to the group home view. Right beneath the currently reading books, on the right hand side of the discussion board section, click "new".
Put in your title, choose Members Reading List, and write your first post.
Hope that helps. If you still need more info, let me know.

merci beaucoup!
I just stumbled on this thread--it is awesome, please tell me it will continue into 2010. I am excited to have one location I can go to for an easy reference of when I read a book. I love this web site, and where was it the past 20yrs?? I'm still logging in books/series that I have or TBR. I am hooked. Or is that booked lol
Renee,Yes, this will be an on-going thing. So feel free to create your own list. You can organize it in anyway you like. Feel free to browse other people's lists if you want to get some ideas.
Have fun putting yours together.

What a great idea to have one place you can go to view all your challenge lists. i feel so much more organized! Thanks!
Cherra wrote: "What a great idea to have one place you can go to view all your challenge lists. i feel so much more organized! Thanks!"I have to agree. This past year I signed up for so many year long challenges and lost track of most of them.

That was my problem too! I would have to sit there forever looking for the thread to link me to the challenges. I figured out a little system that helps me keep my challenges organized and by creating links to the challenge name and a link to my member reading list, I can easily toggle between threads.

How would I do this? I'm really new to this site and am just figuring out what this site can do for me. I'd like to make a list of books to read and cross them off as I read them, but don't know how to do it. Could you give me some insight on this?? Thanks a million! Tracy
Welcome to GR and our group, Tracy74.To create your personal reading list, just simply create a new thread. Go back to the discussions page, and on the upper right hand corner, click on "new". Put in your title, select the folder "Reading List" and create your first post.
To strike out, on the upper right of this text box, click on the phrase "some html is ok", and it will open and pop-up with the codes to do so.
If this is not clear enough, let us know. We are more than happy to assist you in anyway we can.
Again hope you'll enjoy GR and visit our group often.
Jumping in here... loving GR & have to thank Yz for setting up this list for us all to keep track in one place! Awesome!
hmmm. I actually do this in a word document where I track for the entire year (I started doing that in 2008 for a challenge I was participating in) so it would be easy for me to transfer over to here as well. I'll have to start loading them when I get a chance.
Wonderful! I was worried that I would have to go through hundreds of posts in the Reading challenges to find my list of books. This makes it super easy! Thanks!
I got this idea from another group. I've noticed that with the rapid increase of membership, it's easy to lose our reading list/s in this folder. I'm going to link all reading list in this first thread, so all you have to do is look up your name in the list.
This is going to be a work in progress, so if I miss your name, just let me know.

I add names when I have time, but if anybody wants their name added ASAP, just drop me a note and I'll put it in.

hi! i like your reading list that's exactly how i want to organize mine! how did you link you posts to your reading list???
Hey Yz - are you able to update our links for the 2012 year lists? or would you prefer we keep our old lists? :)
Jane (PS) wrote: "Hey Yz - are you able to update our links for the 2012 year lists? or would you prefer we keep our old lists? :)"It's really up to you.
I had received requests of people creating new 2012 lists and wanted me to delete their old posts, which I have done for them. I leave it up to your discretion on how you plan to manage your lists. : )
Just pm me if there is anything you need help with.
Rachel wrote: "Hey Yz,Could you add my name to the list too when you have the time? Thanks! :)"
Done! : )
I didn't even know there was a Master list. I should pay more attention. Yz, can you please add my name to the list too? Thanks!
Vi wrote: "I didn't even know there was a Master list. I should pay more attention. Yz, can you please add my name to the list too? Thanks!"Sure. No problem. : )
Hi guys, What I do so I can always find my reading list is bookmark it on my igoogle page. i also make a link to my last years' lists so I can easily check it out.http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/7...
Good idea LL!! Off to check this out now - I'd quite like to access the old one (easily) for a while at least...
Jane, you could always start off how I did and had each years' bookmarked until I learnt how to do hyperlinks in my posts ;)
I can do a hyperlink (I think) - so I'll put the hyperlink in my current post for now and bookmark the current post :) (Even though Yz has kindly updated my link in this thread...)

Thank you Yz! :)
Just finished Even Then and Ever After by Karen Kingsbury. Starting City of Bones. And still have Baby Take 1 and 2 by Mike Wells. I can read up to 2 to 4 books a week depends on the length.
Charlene wrote: "Would you please add my name to the master list when you have a moment? Much appreciated. Charlene"Done. Welcome aboard.
Thanks! Could you please tell me how to link the challenges to my posts? I tried to read the "some html is ok" thing but I can't get it to work. I have message 38 on the FAC Challenge and I did and embedded it. But nothing shows up. Thanks again!

Hi ! Could you add my list to the master list when you have time ? Thanks :)
Karen wrote: "Hi ! Could you add my list to the master list when you have time ? Thanks :)"Sure. Done!
Have fun with the challenges.

So, I've decided to create this folder, and members who want a place to track their monthly reading can just create their own thread.
Easy enough for everyone, right?
