Nikita, I really like the Lords of the Underworld series! I have Samson's Lovely Mortal on my Kindle, but I haven't read it yet.

Review: This book surprised me. The world building and plot were interesting and the characters were really good, specially Ari who came up as human without being totally annoying. You could even understand why she gave the time of day to Charlie even when he was an asshat. And Jai...he was so scrumptious! I already got the second in the series handy. I think I'll want to read it very soon. :)

Book #8 in the Argeneau Vampire series, and Marguerite, the matriarch of the family is still missing, believed to be in England. As her only daughter was due to give birth and Marguerite hasn't checked in, all the family is very worried.
Thomas, her nephew, but raised by her is the only one immediately available to go to England and start the search, the others will come when they can.
Inez Urso, a VP in the English branch of the Argeneau family business is detailed to assist him. Due to Bastien, the boss, being distracted he fails to tell Thomas he's being picked up at the airport and Inez that she is helping him find Marguerite.
Once the misunderstandings are sorted, Thomas realises Inez is his lifemate, but then the attacks start happening.
There were some very funny moments, as always ...
"I'm Canadian. We're not responsible for Baywatch. You can't blame that on us."
"Just the Pamela Anderson part," Inez suggested with amusement.
"Only partially, I'm sure her implants are American," Thomas assured her..."
and
"Have you tried to talk to her?"
"What would you like me to say Bastien? Oh, I'm sorry, Inez. I didn't mean to bite you, my fangs slipped."
This is one of those series that is easy to read, well written, fun, fluffy, lighthearted, but ultimately you'll read the next one when you get around to it or you need a pick-me-up.

No worries, Lis. I can always change it when you post your review. :)

Series: The Hollows #11
Read: 1/29/2013
Rating: ★★★★★
Space 6 - Orange Cover
Review: I LOVE this series. I'll admit that this was one of the harder series for me to get into in the beginning but Mz Harrison builds an awesome alternative universe. Her special paranormal creatures are definitely "out of the box" and creative. Trying to do this without spoilers... This edition of the Hollows brings many of the past supporting characters back. Someone is kidnapping the Rosewood syndrome witch babies and Rachel investigates with Trent and Quinn along with her sidekick Jenks. As usual this leads to more involvement with the demons again and all of their politics. Funny how Rachel is always trying to save their butts and they are always trying to kill her. I like that Rachel seems to be growing into her powers and making less "Rachel oops" spells. Trent and her seem to be working more on the same side lately. Very emotional highs and lows and sad moments too. Love the humor that is woven into the story, no one can swear slang like a pixie. Plenty of "Tink's ...." moments and always a favorite, the "cookie maker" references made at the elves. More back story on the elf and demon war. Some storyline wrap ups and deeper character development and discoveries and an ending that leads to some future storyline possibilities.

On another note, I should have my book finished over my lunch hour today. :)

Review:
I'm so happy I changed books, as what I was originally going to read was shaping up to be a 2 star read. This book was a very fast-paced read, and it didn't take me long to get into the story at all, which is always nice, especially for a first book in a series. I really liked all the characters, and am already looking forward to reading the stories of some of the secondary characters. The book even made me get a little choked up when (view spoiler)
There are just a couple reasons I'm giving this 3.5 stars instead of 4. I figured out pretty early on who was behind the attacks on Delilah. This didn't really take much away from my enjoyment of the book, but I would have liked to be surprised. Second, there were also a few editing issues/typos, which probably only bother me because I proofread for a living.
All that being said, I'll definitely be reading book 2 at some point!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Sandra I'm reading The Darkest Night and have about 50 pages more to read. Will have my review up soon.

Review:
This book was more of a 3.5 star. The premise for this book sounded interesting and started off great. I was intrigued by all the characters introduced in the book. I felt connected to Maddox and Ashlyn and their romance and I loved the concept of the book but I did have problems with the author's writing style. There were moments in the book that left me confused about what was happening and other moments where I couldn't understand who was saying what. In my opinion it needed a bit more editing to get the flow of the story right. Since this is the first book in the series I am being more generous than I usually am and giving this book a 4 star rating. I didn't love the book but it keeps you interested enough to want to read the rest of the books. A good start to the series.
