No worries. I'm just glad it's family and not something like you getting sick or hurt or something worse. Family can keep definitely be a handful though.

message 319: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Struggling is so not worth it -- I say switch now.

I am reading a book that I am having SO much fun with (and it isn't green), just thought I'd let you all know:

Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack, #1) by Suzanne Wright

message 320: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments That sounds really good Regina. Looks like I can only get the older version on kindle. So I may be stuck with the orgy scene, oh well, the sacrifices one makes. LOL.

message 321: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Lol. I was kind of happy to have themst version .... * blush*

message 322: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

message 323: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments I added it to my TBR. Gonna have to move it up a bit I think.

message 324: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished feral sins yesterday regina !!!

It was so good!!

I had the orgy scene too !

message 325: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I'm finished and I didn't get the orgy scene, so I must have the new one.

So for those of you with the orgy scene, whereabouts in the story does it happen?

message 326: by [deleted user] (new)

Chap 17 and its on the authors website also .

message 327: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Ooh, thanks Karen I'll go check it out :DDDD

message 328: by [deleted user] (new)

Check ! Check! It was hot !

message 329: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Sandra you read that fast!! I am at 80% and stll loving it! I am glad you liked it!

Lol at us. Pervs R Us. :)

I cannot wait for the 2nd!

I need to try her camp series. Anyone read it yet?

message 330: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I thought it might be there, and I must say that was steamin!!!!

But I agree with one of the reviews, that it didn't sit well with the level of possessiveness of Trey. I think I prefer the story without it.

And I've just read the excerpt for Dante's story. Looks like another winner. Due April 26.

message 331: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Sandra it was so steamy! I just finished it last night. I really really enjoyed it. I kind of bought into the orgy based on how it was set up but ... it didn't need to be in there (lol - is there every a need for an orgy?)

I can't wait to read Dante's story and am I curious about her vamp series.

message 332: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments So I am almost done with my green book A Summer in Sonoma by Robyn Carr I am listening to the audio and am about 75% in. I likely won't be posting a review until close to around 12:00 pm central time.

A Summer in Sonoma by Robyn Carr
Finished: 3/9/13

Review:
I loved this book. This is not like Carr's Virgin River series in that it is not focused on romance or HEA. Instead the focus is the relationship between 4 women and then their relationship with the men in their lives. I guess this might be more women's issues or chic lit. I have never read anything like it but I loved it. This is like Carr's books in that the characters are richly developed, the setting and "world" is complex. I really enjoyed this book and am so thankful that I read it. While it does have romance and the search for happiness, this book is more focused on what happens after the HEA.

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments I changed my book

Week 6 - #116 - Green

Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Finished: 3/8/13
Rating: 5 stars

I'm gonna start this review by saying that some of what I'm about to say makes me feel like a dirty old lady, but I can't help it.

People in another group have been talking about this book and it's been on my TBR for awhile so I figured I'd get the sample from Amazon and see if it was something I could get into since I need to read a bunch of green covers this month. The minute Daemon graced the pages of this book I was in love. I have a soft spot for the jerky, hot guys and he is so the epitome of that. We learn throughout the book why he is the way he is and that just makes him even hotter to me. And do not get me started on the chemistry between Daemon and Katy. Holy smokes. There were some moments I wasn't sure I was still reading a YA book.

Besides Daemon and his utter hotness and rocking chemistry with Katy, the book was great. Totally reminded me of one of my favorite shows Roswell. Brought back a lot of those feelings for me and made me want to jump up and put the first disc of season 1 into my DVD player. There are a lot of great characters in this book and hopefully we'll learn more about them in the next book. I wasn't even finished with Obsidian when I rushed to Amazon and purchased Onyx and Opal. And of course I figured out a way to start Onyx as soon as humanly possible. I have to get more Daemon time in.

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 473 comments Crazy day, Friday is usually my reading day but my daughter got sent home with an ear infection. It is supposed to start snowing soon and be flat out nasty all day tomorrow so I am prepared to go snuggle down in blankets and do nothing but read so I can be done by draw time tomorrow.

Dark Desires After Dusk (Immortals After Dark, #6) by Kresley Cole
Finished: 3/8/13
Rating: 4 stars

I loved how it jumped right in with the action. I loved Holly and her OCD meets Cade the true messy bachelor. The story was really great, lots of steamy goodness drawn out just enough and a HEA... well kind of.

Crystal S (crystalann) | 487 comments Week 6 - Space 116/Green

Whirlwind Reunion by Debra Cowan
Finished 03/09/13

What. A. Snoozefest. It was so boring I wouldn't have finished it if I didn't have to for this game. By the time I had time to get some reading done though, I didn't have time to find and start a whole new book. The overall plot was too thin to cover a whole 275 pages. About halfway through, when the hero and heroine (Matt and Annalise) reconcile their differences, would have been a good time to end it, making it a dull but perfectly acceptable and complete story. Instead we were treated to a few stupid plot contrivances to extend an already weak storyline.

But really, let's talk about what drove Matt and Annalise apart in the first place. Years ago, Annalise left her fiance, Matt, to go to medical school. He wasn't ok with it, but he accepted it. Until (view spoiler) He assumes that she's lying (view spoiler) and left anyway. He never writes her back, breaking her heart in the process. So we understand why she isn't a fan of him. But I never quite fell for his reasoning that she was lying to him. Ok fine. About halfway through the book, he finally realizes she wasn't lying, apologizes, and their relationship appears to be nearly back on track, although she is slow to trust him with her heart again (who can blame her?). Plot contrivance. Plot contrivance. Then, another incident involving his dad and a surgery she performs on his dad. The procedure has complications and once again Matt irrationally flies into a rage at DOCTOR Annalise claiming she lied to him about his father. Ok, at this point, I would have washed my hands of this "hero" and said buh-bye, don't let the door hit ya on the ass on your way out. And truthfully, Annalise is a lot slower to forgive this time. But she still does forgive, where I never would have. (Of course she does. It's a romance novel.)

Other problems with the book include way, way too many characters from past books in the series and future books in the series. The author repeatedly used the word massive to describe the hero. Massive conjures up in my head Fezzik from The Princess Bride (mentally insert an image here, cuz I don't know how). That's my own problem with the word though. There were other mini-rage inducing problems I had with the plot, but at some point I stopped writing them down to avoid having a really, really long review. This review is already too long for a 275 book.

Rant done!
