Yeah, sorry about that.

While Jeb calls Alyssa Al and skater girl, Morpheus calls her little luv, blossom or plum. His nicknames for Alyssa are not just cooler, but also sexier.
LOL, I know it is a superficial reason, but it adds points to Morpheus all the same.

That's a valid point actually!

I thought of that too!

Skater girl for me sounds like something a relative would've said. Or a best friend. Not a boyfriend. Also Jeb's knoledge of the romantic is pretty low, I'm sure! As for Morpheus, he must be an expert, as he dated Ivory. Bedding a royalty is a talent! It requiers skills!!! ♡ :D
Also I love it when Jeb is trying to offend Morpheus with the nicknames he's giving him - the local cockroach, gentleroach, moth-ra, moth crazy, son of a bug ... and Alyssa is all: Don't call him that. I don't like it! :D

I know!!! You`re not imagining things:
Proof:
1. Jeb and Alyssa are meeting after school to go on their "date".
Jeb: You don`t know how much I want to touch you! (Is this supposed to make me feel ok or something???????)
2. On the "date"
As you mentioned - this is it. Alyssa is all what are we doing and Jeb:
Don`t talk, just let me do what I want to do (he didn`t say that, but he was rather insisting)
3. Jeb sees Alyssa in her garden, while Morheus is looking at his car.
"I want to touch you so much it hurts"
4. All of their talking about prom is how Jeb can`t wait the prom to end, so they can have so privacy!
CAN I BE THE FIRST ONE TO SAY: EWWWW!

I feel like Jeb's love for Alyssa is shallower, more on the surface, but I feel that Morpheus's is deeper, from the soul.

Well, as you mentioned earlier, he says he wants to touch her all the time and there is the occasional friendly teasing. I'm not defending him or anything! I love Morpheus and his flirting and all those names he calls her!

True. Alyssa needs to get her shit together and dump Jeb officially ASAP. She is seriously missing out on great ... experiences.

Yeah. He has the best grand bedroom after all. With A WATER BED!!!

Yes, that curtain of falling water *dreamy sigh* I loved the idea of it in Splintered so much.
But what about the Red castle? If Alyssa is going to be queen, she will have to reside in her own castle. But I'm sure there are plenty of bedrooms there too ;)

Whereas Morpheus has enough guts to confess to Alyssa after she says she hates him.

More than this. *SPOILERS* Morpheus almost gave up his life, three times, knowing full well that Alyssa doesn't love him. He gave his rival a chance to live and be with Alyssa by risking his own life and facing Sister Two. And he almost gave himself up to Red, if not for *you know what*.
But whenever he could, he was smart about his sacrifices, always leaving himself an escape plan, a fighting chance. Like he is smart about everything. I swear, I agree with every word that comes out of his mouth.

THIS.
*applauds*
Ah, Natalia. You never fail to fight for him.
:)

But seriously. It is not easy to sacrifice yourself for someone who loves you, and it is twice as difficult to do it for someone who you think hates you.

That's one of the reasons I didn't understand why my friend hate(d/s) him.
Yes, he did use her, as many Jeb fans point out, but he used her to stay alive and was ultimately willing to give his life for her anyway.
Meanwhile, nobody has any problems with Jeb using Taelor as a distraction.

I am so glad I'm the only one who has a problem with Jeb and Taelor because if he really liked Alyssa he would have waited for her like she did for him.

This happened in real life, though, and my friend Alyssa was completely fine. A couple weeks ago, she told me "Jeb and Taelor were never together (referring to the IRL people)." I was like O e
And she said "To me, they were never a couple. It just didn't happen." Then she stared me dead in the eyes.
So it's like events are repeating themselves with my own Alyssa. Except we don't have a Morph. There's just me in a wig coming to her house on Valentine's Day XD
Okay, that's a little strange. I think Jeb was trying to get over a lot. And in Splintered, the impression I got was that he liked Alyssa, but either didn't want to or did't think he should. Using Taelor to get over it was just not cool though.

Well, it's not just a drainage pipe to them. Alyssa explained in the book beforehand why that place was special to both of them.

*sigh* I know. I'm a person who waits until marriage and I respected Alyssa for wanting to wait longer until she felt ready, but I wasn't surprised by Jeb's lack of hesitance, because I'm used to be surrounded by people that don't have the same standards I or Alyssa do. It did bug me though.

I did like Morpheus' place, just as I liked all of Wonderland.

Well, I will give Morpheus credit for that. I couldn't even say that back to my boyfriend when we were dating, even though I loved him. I was always stuck. And if it takes guts to say it back, it takes even more to be the first one to say it, and with what Alyssa had just said...wow.

My friend Kitana did point out that Jeb used Taelor, and I didn't like that. On the other hand, though, Morpheus also used the White Queen.

O.O I'd like see the events unfolding at your place, if they're so similar. (not trying to be creepy, btw)

It was creepy. I felt like I was watching those three on some kind of emotional roller coaster. Except I don't know my Jeb and Taelor. They were just people at school that I was kind of half-friends with. Maybe I'm Jenara.
OH MY GOD FANFICTION IN THE MAKING.
I now feel the need to write Jenara finding Alyssa in the closet in tears. I totally want to (if I find time).
Also, Jeb used Taelor as a way to get around Alyssa and his desire for her, hurting her in the process. Morpheus was pretty much trying to keep himself alive and planning everything out. It was necessary to his survival.
But yeah, now I feel like writing that fanfiction. Except I don't believe Jen knew about the whole Alyssa <3's Jeb thing until after prom. Did she?

I think she did know. I remember her saying in Splintered how Alyssa should finally tell Jeb about her feelings before he went to London.
By the way, guys, do you think Jeb could still end up with Taelor, eventually, if/when he returns back from Wonderland? Because I refuse to believe he will stay there forever. Over time, he could find his happiness in the real world and become a famous artist, painting pictures about Wonderland's bizarre landscapes and creatures, and fairies with wings.

I like Morpheus better, but Jeb deserves someone better than Taelor:)

I hope so too, but at the same time... One look at the cover of Ensnared, and I start obsessing all over again. Despite my gut feeling and the gazillion hints in both books that Jeb wouldn't and couldn't be endgame, I'm scared to the point that I can't think straight.
A.G., you wouldn't make Alyssa choose to go back to the human realm with Jeb, so she could graduate with her class and live a plain "normal" life, right? Not after she becomes Queen Alyssa and has that glorious future in front of her. Let at least one heroine stay Queen, stay powerful and have a life that people in real life can't. Let fantasy win over reality, just this once.
I read somewhere that you said you might revisit the characters of this series one day. Let it not be because Alyssa chose Jeb and poor Morpheus had to wait another 60 years for his happily ever after. He is hands down the best character of this series and he deserves so much more than just to be shoved aside.
Alyssa and Morpheus together in Wonderland is the only ending that feels authentic.

Of course you know I'm not going to answer any questions about the ending. ;) *coughs*
In fact, I won't even let myself read the "who do you think Alyssa chooses" threads. I haven't even opened them. There are over a hundred entries and I just won't go there. @.@
But I will tell you this: I actually had to fight for the ending I wrote. My editor asked me change it but I just couldn't. That should show you how much I believe the ending I chose to be honest and authentic, that I would risk upsetting the apple cart like that. Every character shines in the end in their own way, and becomes who they were meant to be.
That's all I can say for now. ;)
