Check out The Transylvania Flying Squad of Detectives. The most entertaining, exciting thriller/fantasy ever. I guarantee if u read it you'll be praying its turned into a movie. The originality of this book is stunning. I absolutley loved it.
I read The Transylvania Flying Squad of Detectives and am glad to find that someone else thinks this would make the most awesome movie ever. I was blown away by this book. It would be as big as Star Wars - the original Star Wars
I read Life of Pi and it was fantasticly moving. I just finished reading City of Dark Magic and I recommend it to anyone who likes murder/mystery/romance. I just started reading Witch and Wizard the Kiss and dear god I'm officially hooked on it! I read page 1 and was instantly enthralled by it. James Patterson has done it again I tell you! I recommend the Witch and Wizard series to anyone and other great books by him are Maximum Ride and the Daniel X series. Oh god and the Skinjacker Trilogy including Everlost, Everwild, and Everfound. Simply brilliant. Oh and I Am Number Four. Oh dear I'm rabbling. I get so worked up over my favorite books.
I recomment the Beautiful Creatures series, the Vampire Diaries series, the Pretty Little Liars series are all good and either have tv shows or movies based on them !
Hi everyone on TPOBBA... I recently finished
and I quite, simply loved it.Started reading,
and also reading
as a side-read.
I read the entire 8-book collection of Young Samurai by Chris Bradford. It's So amazing, it should be placed in the action movie section, not in the book section, moving beautiful section.Another read is I am Become Death by Rocco Ryg. This book is Brilliant!
I decided to pick up The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene. Its pretty much a manual on how to manipulate the minds of others to get what you want. Sounds pretty awful when you put it like that but im sure i could use a little help in this department hahaha. So ill give it a try.

It's well worth dragging yourself through the second book to get to the third.
I am reading Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. This is my second time reading it. It is definitely a good read!
I'm about to finish A Clash of Kings and reading Catching Fire. I love the Song of Ice and Fire saga. It's quite an easy read and such a clever story.
@Patty I finished the casual vacancy the other day. It is really good. It took me a little while to get into it and to know the characters but just stick with it, it's worth it!
I am reading: Scent of the Missing: Love and Partnership with a Search-and-Rescue Dog, Tiger Lily, and The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun.

I actually really really liked The Casual Vacancy. I found it really easy to get into and I read super fast because I didn't want to put it down. But I've also heard of a lot of people who didn't like it.
I'm currently reading Tess of the d'Uerbervilles, but let's face it, I'm supposed to be doing school work. I'm not very far into it and it seems a little bit slow but not too bad so far. We'll see how it goes.

I think a lot of people are disappointed because they expect it to be like Harry Potter because it's J.K. Rowling, but it's a very different book. I haven't read it yet, but I hear it's very different from the HP series. I'm looking forward to reading it.
It's definetly very very different. It's an entirely different story and it's not a kid's book. But it's still great :)
Current reading: The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick NessJust Finished: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. Loved this.

i think my issue was the time constraint on it since it was from the library. i only had a week and i was reading another book at the time and was wanting to finish that. i will pick it up again once i can have it for a longer time

Picture of Dorian Gray is one of my most favorite books. The descriptions of the hideous transformations of Dorian's painting are some of the best.
I'm almost finished with Dirk Gently's holistic detective agency and can't decide if I want to read Sea of poppies or Thousand splendid suns next.

I'm reading Neverwhere for a partner read for another group. My partner loved it but for me it's kind of boring. I can't wait to finish it so I can start the 3rd book of The circle series.
Just finished "The Lost Girl" by Sangu Mandanna. It's one of my favorites now. I recommend it to everyone.
I have just finished reading Forever by Maggie Stiefvater. Not a bad series, although enjoyed the final book more than the others. Now about to start Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan.
I recently read
(I was curious to see what the buzz was about) and, overall, really liked the novel. We watched the movie last night and really enjoyed it too. It was interesting to see how it differed from the novel. Personally, I like the novel better than the movie but am curious to see how others felt. That said, currently reading
and
.
I went crazy and bought too many books this weekend, but barns& noble had a buy 2 get one free. That really made me happy..
I decided to read
after seeing the book being praised everywhere and a interview of the author on Charlie Rose. So far the guy is one hell of a writer. I hope to be done by Tuesday that when my copy of
shows up. =)
I got sent an advance proof copy of The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Extence just before Xmas, & I've decided to give it a read. I should have read it before the release date (31st Jan) but I got distracted by other books. However, lots of people have been raving about it since it came out, so I decidedto give it a whirl. I'm really enjoying it so far! I'm about halfway through, but I'm enjoying the writing, the pace and also the plot.
I finished Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel , great book , better than its prequel Wolf Hall :). Definitely would recommend it to everyone :) . Anyone planning to read it should first read Wolf Hall. Going to start reading Gone Girl.
I just finished reading the "Beautiful Creatures: the caster chronicles"series and I couldn't put them down!
Adri wrote: "I just finished reading the "Beautiful Creatures: the caster chronicles"series and I couldn't put them down!"Is it good? I've heard the name many times but no one I know has read it.
I finished Every Day yesterday and I completely love it! It's a really great book. And today I started The Silver Linings Playbook and it's good so far.

I am reading
I got it in a giveaway here on Goodreads.Having a difficult time getting through it. Not even close to what I expected.
Almost finished with THE AMBLER WARNING by Robert Ludlum. It's long, but a great read so far. Kind of like Vince Flynn meets Tolstoy!
Swati,I absolutely loved Bring Up the Bodies. And, like you, I think it is even better than Wolf Hall. She is one amazing writer - I think one of the best who is writing right now. Look me up on Goodreads and I will check your page out too.

Completely agree. I could not stop reading "Bringing Up the Bodies!" So well-written and, I think, Hilary Mantel took note of some of the criticism that "Wolf Hall"'s narrative was confusing at times, and she clarified with the simple addition of "he, Cromwell" (instead of just "he"). Both books were amazing though.
