Ahh Neverwhere I wish Mr Gaiman would revisit that world and give us new stories but I will enjoy anything he puts out.

This was released last month. I absolutely love it. I can't put this book down, and when I do, I catch myself thinking about the events that take place in the story. Worth the read!

Yeah I became a fanboy of his when I found The Sandman Series. And just followed him through all his other books and then found I love listing to him speak.

Ok, so if you could only recommend one Gaiman book, which would it be? I just read The Ocean at the End of the Lane (My first Neil Gaiman!) and am planning to check out more of his work. Everyone seems to have different favorites. Which do you think is the one book that should not be missed?

Well it depends on what style of books you like to read the most.

YA I would say
The Graveyard Book

Fantasy
Stardust

Adult
American Gods

short stories
Smoke and Mirrors

But the best of the best is his comic series
The Sandman, Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes a 75 issues of horror, fantasy, mythology there has never been a comic that was like it.

Thank you! I'm planning to read The Graveyard Book and Neverwhere before the end of the year. Then, probably some of the others next year. I didn't realize that he had such variety in his writing genre.

Amazon has recently been transferring to kindle store, getting people excited about Neil Gaiman doing a new small Sandman series starting in October celebrating the 25 anniversary. Here a video of him talking about it

Well just finished Great Expectations and have to say that it was really good. I felt the last half of the story move much better and all I can say is every one need someone like good old Joe, in their life every once and while .

I have had What Is the What on my "Currently reading" for over a month now and today I started and really dove in to it. It is totally aDave Eggers books with his distinct style. But as I have said before that not a bad thing as he is an excellent writer. (you don't get a Pulitzer prize for just looking good.. at lest I don't think you do)

Even his first days at the orphanage seem hidden under a strange cloud of forgetfulness. One thing Richard does remember is that, no matter what, he must not eat the “cornmeal mush” (Ch. 1 and following) the nuns serve for breakfast. Refusing this meal is against the Orphanage rules, and Richard’s insistence over the years, as he grows up, marks him out as a trouble-maker. Faced with the harsh bureaucracy of the Catholic Church Richard decides that all talk of God is a fake, but he is determined to do what is really “right” (Ch. 1 and following) by people, regardless of what the church says. From a very early age ethics, rather than morals, interests this young thinker. As Richard grows up he changes in some ways, but in many ways he stays the same. What will the course of his life be?

The Children Shall be Blameless is a story about real life, taking a very practical and pragmatic view of things. It is, however, also a ‘spiritual’ (rather than religious) story asking deeper, philosophic questions about how to live and how we find meaning. Richard does not claim to have all the answers, and neither does W. Jack Savage, but if you find yourself often wondering ’what is the right thing to do’ this is the novel for you. Savage’s story is interesting and in parts very exciting, and the novel is not in any way preachy.

Jodi I have been on a Dave Eggers kick this wholeyear. I am down to this and How We Are Hungry to be caught up. I had put this off as it is quite large. But wow it incredible. The horror that is laid forth in the book to me is eye opening. It is not a sad or depressing book. It just hard to believe what has happens to this and many other would make most modern fantasy dystopian novel seem a day in the park.
