I had a lot of things on my mind, so I haven't been very active on Goodreads lately. Time for an update!

I have read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the very first time. I'm probably the only Harry Potter newbie in the world. I have read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone this year and liked it a lot. The second one was not as good as the first one, but I still liked it.

Then I read Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. Since English is not my first language, this book wasn't the easiest one to read, but I loved reading it. It was such a funny and clever story and I liked the references to the Christian apocalypse. I will definitely read more books from both authors.

And currently I'm reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and so far it's hilarious.

I still haven't read Harry Potter. I don't really want to. I thought I was the only one who hadn't read it.

I just read Hitchhiker's Guide a few weeks ago and it wasn't my thing at all. At first I thought it was funny and then I just felt like it was ridiculous. I felt like nothing happened at all. It sounds like you are enjoying it though.

Yeah, I think The Hitchiker's is a hate it or love it thing.

I should definitely read The Princess Bride soon. I haven't watched the movie yet, so I know nothing about the story. Can't wait to read it and find out what everybody loves about it.

Usually I can't read books that I have watched the movie for but in this case it didn't change the feeling of the book for me. There are some really famous lines that I have heard over and over again because I have watched the movie so many times, I have really enjoyed seeing in the book.

I really enjoyed the City of Bones series. I didn't like her other series nearly as much, although I still have Clockwork Princess to read from that series.

I loved it! "The Book Thief" is very original - written from the perspective of "Death" in the setting of Nazi Germany. It's a touching story.

It's similar to Dan Brown's other works. I'm about 200 pages in and so far prefer it to The Lost Symbol and I like how the story is unfolding so far. Just a few things I dislike such as the unnecessary info dumps and that they are running away from the bad guys yet still have time to give you a history lesson on the famous statue/picture/building that they are running past. If you don't mind those things you'll probably really enjoy it.

I'm embarrassed to confess that I read the entire book, and moved on with my life, really happy with the story, and thinking myself a better person for having read it. Then ten years later the movie comes out. I discover that he wasn't really in a boat with zoo animals. I took everything literally. : )

He wasn't? I didn't want to see the movie. I took it very literal too. I don't want to see the movie. I loved the book and don't want to change what I thought it was. I wish I kept the book so I could read it again.

I have finished Claim Me - J. Kenner which I thought the characters are so intense now with the way Damien and Nikki are learning about each other. It's still in the style of 50 Shades. Now I am going to read Complete Me - J. Kenner and I am listening to .The Woman Who Went to Bed for a Year - Sue Townsend on my phone.

I have just read 'The Ocean at the End of the Lane' by Neil Gaiman. This is my first foray into the Gaiman world and I am so pleased I went there. What an interesting and absorbing read. I could not put it down and read it in about 2 hours...Does anyone have any suggestions as to which of Gaiman's books I should read next? Was this book indicative of what he usually writes?

The Bone Season is good. It starts off slow and picks up in the middle, but for a first book in a series i was kinda expecting it. It's worth picking up if you like the paranormal/ Hunger Games genera's
