I've heard about the TV show before. One of the cast is in the Percy Jackson movies.

It's a little hard to explain, but it's set in a fictional medieval location with kings, etc. There are regular people and people that are called gracelings. The gracelings have two different colored eyes and are graced with a special ability. The ability can be anything from cooking, to mind reading, to fighting or climbing. The story follows one specific graceling Lady named Katsa.

I can't tell you much more about it without giving something away, but you can click the link and read the synopsis. Although I felt that the book was a lot better than I expected from the synopsis. You should check it out. I thought it was really good and would definitely recommend it.

I second the Game of Thrones series. I read book one in spring and reading at least books 2 and 3 in summer

Ladyhawk, I can say I loved both for very different reason. I was sure I would enjoy The Golem and the Jinni so it was self fulfilling prophecy. A Tale for the Time Being I deiced to read as it had received a good reviews from a writer I follow Junot Díaz and first chapter in I was was thinking "oh, I don't know about this." But I was rewarded with a wonderful story that I am still thinking about. =)

I finished the "Journey to Wudang" trilogy, & just started reading by Mark Walden. So far it is really interesting. If you are interested in YA or have someone on your list who is that age or does, have then check it out. It's cute.

Last night I listened to Northanger Abbey - Jane Austen which I throughly enjoyed, made me laugh at all sorts of bits in the audio. I've since gone on to read The Mirror of the Soul - J. Lloyd Morgan which is different to what I normally read. Quite good so far.

I am halfway through The Diviners by Libba Bray. I love it!! I am listening to the unabridged version of World War Z by Max Brooks. I love it more than the book format! I recently finished Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I loved it!! It is a must read for EVERYONE.

@ Fiona (Titch): Quick ?, do you find it easy to transition from an audiobook to reading? I don't know if it is just me, but when I am in the car, sometimes I do an audiobook, but then later at night I read a book and I find myself having to take a breath. NM I guess it doesn't make sense, but I was just wondering if someone else had to take a moment to readjust too.

I've just finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
I really enjoyed it, the narrator being Death was one of the most interesting narrations I have ever read.

I am now starting The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, I'm reading it for school as we're doing dystopia as our next module in English Lit. It is definitely one of the better books on the list and I am genuinely looking forward to it even though reading it is technically doing work (:

Just finished Inferno, If you like a lot of in depth about art history, then go for it. Don't know if I would recommend this book. Just started The Ruins of Gorlan and hoping the series is as good as the reviews.

I want to read the Great Gatsby again before I see the movie. I had never read anything from this author. But the title, EXcapades, caught my eye. Don't let the sexy cover fool you. There was a lot of depth to this love story. I was captivated.

The Book Thief is one of my alltime favorites. The Handmaid's Tale is wonderful as well! I wish I could have read it in school, I woulda gotten a great grade on it!

Hannah Lane is seven years old and lives in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She has terrible asthma and has learned to think of herself as not much good at most of what she sets out to do in life. She does, however, have an active imagination and has been interested in fairies for quite some time. She has a collection of fairy dolls which she plays with often. The book is subtitled “a beginner’s guide to lasting happiness’ and is filled with interesting, surprising and useful advice on how to achieve exactly that. This book is part novel, part self-development manual and part spiritual philosophy. Those who are “open-minded” (Book 1, Ch. 6) and have “a little willingness to believe” (Book1, Ch. 4) will benefit the most. The book is aimed at children and youth, but adults can certainly enjoy it and benefit; indeed, perhaps more so.

Just finished The Time Traveler's Wife and it was even better than I expected. The concept of a man who travels throughout time without being able to control it was really fascinating. Clare and Henry were very believable and realistic characters and I liked them immediately. The ending was beautiful.

About to start Fight Club and I'm reading And Then There Were None. I'm curious if Fight Club is as good as the movie adaptation.

Where to begin on my reading binge recently. I read Intuition by Kate Allenton & couldn't stop reading the rest in the series. (Sad I know). Then, I finally got down to reading Ender's Game (a RR), which actually WAS on my reading list this month. I finished it today & then devoured Princess Knight, Part One, which has been on my TBR mental list for a VERY long time. *sigh* Now I am stuck on what I should read next from this month's reading list.

On a side note, next month I need a book that either begins with "U" or has an author who has a first or last name beginning with the same for a challenge. Does anyone have any ideas? I need it to spell out QUEEN.

I've been reading Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire series. It's a mystery series with a Wyoming sheriff. Think Tony Hillerman with more humor. It's not surprising from a mystery perspective, but it has great characters. They are something else. I'm on book #3 Kindness Goes Unpunished.
