i really like Graceling. Need to read the second one still "Fire". Divergent is still on hold for me at the library!

Kristie | 5929 comments Divergent was really good, definitely worth the library wait list. I just started Graceling (I'm on chapter 5), but I really like it already too.

Kendra Mcglothin | 19 comments Getting ready to start Hard Eight (Stephanie Plum, #8) by Janet Evanovich tomorrow while my son is preoccupied with an appointment.

I loved Last Man Standing (The Brothers O'Brien, #3) by William W. Johnstone and was really surprised at the end. I really expected it to be one of the other residents at Dromore to do the job but am not really disappointed. I should of known he'd be willing to do the job. Guess I should be happy it wasn't Lorena that did the job...lol It took me a while to get into this book and am still confused about the green apples that kept popping up in the book. I know there has to be a meaning there somewhere unless it has to do with the old saying about bad apples. Hopefully further books will explain how the ending wasn't wait I expected and how the green apples play in the book.

Nancym (nancym1031) | 15 comments I'm currently reading the Host and hating it. I'm not sure why I feel compelled to finish a book that is not engaging.

I'm looking for that next great read (prefer books that are literary) and haven't found it yet.

Dan Lutts (dan_lutts) I'm currently reading Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles, #2) by Kami Garcia . The first 100 or so pages were really slow and a rehash of Beautiful Creatures. Finally, just as I was about to put the book aside, it picked up. So far, it's an OK book, but nothing great.

Aleka (kalir) Currently reading , an incredible book with well written prose, (Alan Lightman).Einstein's Dreams
similar (although) not prose toSong of Two Worlds

The title may be off putting for some, but it's only about 250 pages and easy to read, subject matter wise, not tedious.

Great read.

After two years of serving as a missionary in a remote area of South America, Daria has returned to the States to mourn her husband, reportedly killed while providing medical aid to a neighboring Colombian village.

At first, Daria finds comfort only in the daughter born to her after Nate's tragic death. As she begins to heal, she also finds a listening ear and a tender heart in her new boss, veterinarian Colson Hunter. Determined to move forward with life, Daria ignores the still small voice calling her to wait and accepts Cole's marriage proposal. But after the wedding, Daria's new dream life turns into a nightmare with the arrival of an unbelievable

Aliyah | 23 comments I'm in the middle of Beautiful Redemption - Part of the Caster Chronicles (Beautiful Creatures series) and it's been great! It really gets your emotions fired up - the whole series does & EVERY book ends with a cliff hanger that has you begging for the next one.
I have five books sitting next to me that I plan to read after I finish:
* Wicked by Gregory Maguire
*That Was Then, This Is Now by S.E Hinton
* The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
* Stolen by Lucy Christopher
* The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Has anyone read these books? How are they??? I'm really excited to start reading them!:)

Gareth Pengelly (garethkpengelly) | 7 comments Current loo read is Cornish Legends by Robert Hunt. Very interesting, to me at least lol. As a fantasy/sci-fi writer I like to keep a large stockpile of reference material. I have many books on the supernatural, the occult and myths on legends (mostly from Britain, but also around the world). Anyone that ventures into my study, clawing their way through the haze of pipe smoke, would no doubt think I'm some kind of occultist, haha!

If I could recommend one of the books in my reference collection to anyone, it would be this: http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-Th...

I had a battered, moth-nommed copy given to me when I was young. Still have it now. It's superbly well written and illustrated, and the way things are described as though everything therein were real rather than fictional, is what sparked my interest in the supernatural, myths and legends.

Well worth a read.

Hi Alexandra and thanks for the welcome :)

It's either just come out or will be soon. I haven't gotten to read it yet but I did add it to my tbr. I'm about halfway in WNTAK. She's the first writer I've read in a long time that I wanted to take my time reading because her style is so rich and deliberate. You really do have to watch for the little details at points in the book.

Jo Hogarth | 6 comments I just found this gorgeously written and beautiful illustrated short story by the New York Times bestselling author George Saunders . It's called Fox 8 and it's written by a fox from his point of view. It is amazing. Speaks to so many topics about the human condition. Can't recommend it highly enough.
