It's very hard to top #3. Feast for Crows feels a bit like an in-between book to be reinforced by the fact that you only follow half of the characters this time around. The idea was that the book was too massive and was split into two books but instead of cutting it in the middle, the story is split lengthwise.I'm not saying it's not a good book but there is something missing (no Bran, no Tyrion or Daenerys). You have to grab A dance with Dragons just after. A Dance With Dragons is like 50 hours audio so it will be months before I finish it. Finding time to listen to it with hubby is a challenge.
Finished
- 5 stars! I was so surprised at this book. The blurb made it seemed like the romance is front and center, but the relationship blended with the overall story and didn't overpower it. Both protagonists had their acts together which is a nice change, and the sex - all I have to say is that she's an alpha and he's man enough to let her play in one scene, which is also nice to see (not to mention hot!). I haven't read any of the previous books and wasn't lost at all. Highly recommend it.
I've just finished
and for some reason, probably due to my mood, I loved it. I've now gone and bought both #2 and #3 and started the next one
:)
Finished
- 3.5/4 stars. I seem to have problems with vampire books, but low and behold I enjoyed this one. The heroine is good at funny snark, and I liked the darker aspects of the book. I did feel lost at times both as to dialog and plot but found that if I kept going my confusion resolved itself. The book is free through the Kindle Lending Library, and is a lot of book at 400+ pages (and might have benefited from wrapping up sooner). I'll be looking forward to the next installment of the series.
Done with
...maybe a bit more organization with the info dump would not have gone amiss but still a good read.
Sandra wrote: "Just finished
and I loved it!!!!!!!"Loved it too Sandra! Especially the DarkRiver stories, though I thought Cooper was yummy and liked learning about the role of submissive Changelings from Grace, and the glimpses of Tai and Rordian we get in Lara's story - well I guess I liked them all :)
Finished Immune: A Sexy Urban Fantasy Mystery - 4.5 stars. Liked this one probably even a little more than the first book,
, which I liked a lot. The Kate Daniels feel continues but still feels original (and a lot easier on the pocketbook as well). Nice way to fill the time until the next installment of Kate and Curran comes out.
Reading Copper Beach for FL and re-reading Blade's Edge for fun. Sorry bookcovers not working at the moment.
I am reading a really good post-apoc mixed with fantasy book
am also reading and loving
and am listening to and loving
I just finished
I finished and reread
It's apparently the first one in a series and the next book is a year away :(
It's not so much about romance, although there are hints about things to come, but the world building is simply awesome.
Finished
- 3 stars. The romance was front and center in this one, which perhaps I wasn't in such a mood for having recently finished and been blown away by
where the romance (which was stellar) was so effortessly woven into a larger story. Still, the author's strong voice was present, and the story had line that struck me as really sweet:You are the shining star that reigns over my yearning heart.
I've picked up the other books in this series that deal with the police force as in Hidden Crimes, so we will see if I am equally blown away by those.
Finished
- 3.5 stars. Not as good as Hidden Crimes (I think the author really hit on something special there), but an enjoyable read.

I have been struggling to read lately but I did get to finish
and one ARC YA novel called Wish since February.I am currently trying to work on
and
while still trying to finish
(with less than 100 pages and no motivation, I may just make myself finish the darn thing because I'm too close to let it go into a pile and be forgotten!)
Tonight I'm starting
. I stil didn't get my Lover at Last copy by mail... I hope it doesn't take much longer!I'm also starting this series
. I'm half way through listening to the first book, and liking it just fine.I've also been reading the Morganivill Vampires books.
. I'm currently deciding whether to start the sixth book or not. I really, really can't stand the main character, Claire. She gets on my nerves!.
