Please Introduce Yourself, Let's All Get To Know Each Other

Thank you Cameron for the mention :). My fourth will be out in two weeks.
Strongly recommend John Connolly

E, quite a few instances of series being continued after the Authors are no more with us.
Jason Bourne series were written by Erik Van Lustbader for some time. Lustbader's Ninja series are worth a read themselves.
Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series will be written by Kyle Mills.
I thiink the Tom Clancy Jack Ryan series are being written by someone else.
And of course the Sherlock Holmes books keep coming out written by other contracted authors.

Oh and if all you know about Jason Bourne are the Matt Damon movies, well you don't really know anything about the book. They changed the story so much it's not the same one. Don't miss the book(s).

Oh and if all you know about Jason Bourne a..."
i think the best Bourne books are still the first and second one.

I didn't know that the Mitch Rapp books of Vince Flynn are going to be continued. This is great news. Have you read anything by the new author?

Patricia, i can't recommend Kyle Mills enough.
his Mark Beamon series is superb. Beamon is an eccentric FBI agent, a genius, who gets the job done.
Mills also wrote two books featuring a character called Fade. great books.
and then i think another Mills book i'll strongly recommend is Smoke Screen.
the premise is fantastic.
'what if the tobacco companies stopped manufacturing?'

Hello and welcome Juan:
Based on the authors above, I would check out Robert Crais (Elvis Cole or Joe Pike series), John Connolly (Charlie Parker series), James Lee Burke (Dave Robichaux series) and Dennis Lehane (Kenzie and Gennaro series). Hope I don't disappoint you.
Best,
Cameron

Hi LaDonna:
We live in McPherson, about one hour North of Wichita on I-35. We have Kansas City Chiefs season tickets.

I can recommend Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoi and Isles series. You would probably like the mysteries by Louise Penny, beginning with "Still Life" too.

Juan:
Patricia is definitely right about Tess Gerritsen (Rizzoli and Isles series). It is nothing like the television show series. But, if you read this series you will want to start with "The Surgeon" and then read "The Apprentice" and proceed forwards from there. They are excellent books and this is an excellent quaternary? Is that what you would say? I have not read Penny, so I cannot speak for her. Good going Patricia.

Thanks Cameron. What do you think of Daniel Silva and Brad Thor? I haven't read either one yet but have seen some good reviews.

Brad Thor is good Patricia, I would rate him slightly better than Silva, but both those thriller writers are good.

For years I read like a six year old eats ... just one thing (genre) over and over, but have been trying to break myself of that habit and now try to read a bit of everything instead of binge reading.
There is almost no genre I don't enjoy. As for thrillers, I've seen some great author listed here. Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, and Lee Child are all great. Look forward to talking with many of you.
Hello K.L
I invite the right people ,fans of great authors like Lee Childs and Vince Flynn.
I must read Brad Thor !

I must read Brad Thor !

I love to travel and learn foreign languages. I've been a member of Goodreads since some years back and of some groups but I have only been active on some group discussions this year. Happy to contribute in a positive, constructive way and discuss books we read. Some suspense/thriller books I just read last month are books of Alafair Burke. My suspense/thriller books to read next month are of Gillian Flynn: Sharp Objects, Gone Girl, Dark Places. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! best regards, Angelica
Thanks for introducing yourself, you will get lots of Hello's and welcomes
Worst book I have EVER read.... Gone Girl !!
Try Mel Sherratt.. Taunting The Dead, much better !

yes you must. Another I like, though I've only read one or two of his (not that he has a huge series) is Ted Bell. His Alex Hawke character is pretty cool.

Juan:
I have been meaning to get to Daniel Silva for a long time. I just haven't. I have heard nothing but good about him. I need to get going. I also have a Brad Thor on my TBR list that I need to read. Have heard nothing bad about him, either. I think that he leans more to the Vince Flynn/Lee Childs style. I just started Frederick Forsyth's "The Day of the Jackal" last night. It is a spy thriller. I think that it is going to be great.

I would compare Thor more to Flynn than to Lee Child.
Brad Thor and Vince Flynn's books have a political angle whereas Lee Childs books are devoid of politics.

no question Flynn and Thor are definitely more alike.
Sean, I haven't read either of those two authors. I'll have to make a note of them. As if my backlog wasn't already insane enough.
I've read a few of Daniel Silva's and enjoyed those and read one Archer a long time ago but can't remember it very well.

Not Read Jeffrey Archer yet !
Vince Flynn great"
I had heard that a producer bought the rights to "Memorial Day" by Vince Flynn but refused to proceed. She felt it wasn't believeable. Considering today's news, the story is definitely believeable.

With as crazy as the world seems at times, I keep expecting to see the plot of Term Limits play out in the news
