Yes it was good, and because I cook usually in large batches, I freeze, so that when I am busy, or friends drop in for dinner, I have something already done.

Mike, I agree with you on your star rating system. I don't give 5 stars easily. Has to be something really special, and they don't come along that often. Thinking about it, I don't think I've ever listened to an audio book, not an adult one anyway. I'm probably missing out. I'm also on Booklikes if anyone wants to seek me out there, then yay! I got started listening to audio books back when they were books on cassette (my wife liked them). I spent a lot of time in my work vehicle so i had time to listen on the road. Now I listen because I enjoy them.

There's no social aspect anywhere unless a group is joined, I think. Was certainly quiet on here until I joined a couple of groups. :) Time is always the thing for me, with four kids it gets a bit crazy! As for audio books, I don't know about elsewhere, but here in the UK, they're quite costly. Been a long time since I've looked. Think I might look at some classics, they might be good to listen to (if available).

I'm not sure if this is an option for you there, but here I am able to borrow the audiobook from my library online. Also, I'm not sure if you are familiar with http://www.audible.com Another good resource for audio books. It's just within the past year that I have gotten into them.

Same here. I don't know if there are services like this in the UK (though I assume there are). We have 2 services through our local library system that allows us to download audio books (and for that matter E-books) for checkout. I also buy from Audible. the library offers books on CD also. I think I actually listen to more books than I read in print now (if I can get the book I'm looking for in audio).

Oh I like this idea, a retirement fund would be lovely.

As in reality, I just do not have tome to sleep !!!

I am so happy with the group is growing, I am spending too much time on here, but loving it !

Although I do leave my computer to play tennis 3-4 times a week, work, garden, walk, listen to music and watch television.

Sleep I only have time for 5- 6 hours a night, as once I have a good book, I'm reading to 11.30 to 12.00 in the evening, and then up 5.00 a.m for work.!!

So I highly recommend a help sleep fund, and retire early fund !! LOL

Anyone looking for a new author might try William Kent Krueger. He is wildly popular in Minnesota. His mystery series revolves around detective Cork O'Connor who is 75% Irish and 25% Native American. The setting is primarily "up North" in Minnesota lake country. The character is well-developed and evolves as you go through the series.

Hi Sandy. Two thumbs up for the Hardy Boys. I devoured the Hardy Boys when I was a kid. I was always searching bookstores and flea markets looking for missing volumes. Unfortunately, I have very few of them left. My wife on the other hand has most of the three different series of Nancy drew sitting on our shelves. Our girls will be able to relive our favorite reads as they grown up.
