DoodlePanda Remember how I said I would talk about any subject?

Yea, politics is out.

And religion, cause that often causes discussions that get out of hand.

Also sports is out.

This one actually made me laugh out loud.. My friend in the other room not thinks I'm ever crazier that before... :D

message 2278: by Ty (new)

Ty Patterson | 401 comments There 's a Chatter thread for this, isn't there?

Oh well, guess I will take my wet blanket and move along.

message 2279: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda I didn't realize that friendly chat could be offensive.
Last post here then I guess, I'll be in the chatter thread

message 2280: by Ty (new)

Ty Patterson | 401 comments It's not offensive. I come here to this thread to see who's joined and that increasingly means scrolling back... I don't see a point in having separate threads that serve the same purpose.

However it's not the end of the world. Carry on and make merry.

message 2281: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda No, no, by all means. Wouldn't want any new peeps to be overlooked.

Sean, how many books did you end up selling the last couple of days?

MN Chris

message 2285: by Sean (new)

Sean Keefe (seankeefe) A quick check shows 932, with still a day of the free offer to go, Chris! I'm thrilled to bits, I really am! I'm not sure that'll translate into actual sales when the offer ends, but it's amazing to think that so many people are reading your work. I hope they like it!

message 2286: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments Holy cow, Sean! That is terrific! Well, we need to write reviews. That will sure help get the word out. I have some Q&A and other new author books to review, but then I'll do yours. It looks good! Thanks again for putting it out there for us.

Chris

A serious note here, I look to see how many new members are adding a introduction here, sometime in RED it says 30 new messages !

But it's not an introduction !

I do not want to dampen the fun we have, especially if it is light hearted, and bring a smile to my face and others.

We do not want bad feeling between each other, especially when it is where we are inviting our new members to introduce themselves.

We have a chatter thread, created to talk about anything, and a thread created to talk about your hobbies and sports.

I know that some groups have lost many new members due to "bad feeling", I am proud we have gained members who felt it was more fun here, more friendly, please let's keep it this way.

One of main thrillers groups (one of the top three) has lost 30-40 members in two weeks due to this problem.

I do not want to upset anyone, but do not want to frighten our new members, let's attract and encourage new members.

I have had quite a few PM re this thread over the last 2-3 days.

This is sent with my sincere best wishes to ALL members, and I hope you understand why.

Dipanjan | 314 comments Holas Sean - I don't know about anyone else and I can only speak for myself. I am incapable of "laughing" only within a "laughing zone". Even in real life, I am incapable of doing that in a physical space. Let me take full responsibility of this. Almost 99% of the times, it is me who is responsible for taking any comment to a different tangent. I apologise to anyone who has sent you PMs. I will stop commenting any further as well lest I throw in another tangent. No more "hijacking of threads" from me. :)

Hi Col, copied in this thread for you. (Sean)

Just joined - probably posting in the wrong topic, but hey ho.

I'm probably more of a crime fiction fan than thrillers per se.....but a good book's a good book regardless. I live in Leighton Buzzard in the UK. I love reading and chatting books and blog about what I've recently read and haven't read over here - http://col2910.blogspot.co.uk/

Looking forward to meeting a few new folks and chatting books. Hopefully I won't get too many new recommendations as my book shelves are already heaving!

Cheers, Col

message 2298: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda Welcome Col! :)

message 2299: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda Oh and good luck on not getting too many new recommendations... :p

message 2300: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (diaze) Nah, Dips. Yesterday, when this came up I was one of the guilty parties, you are truly innocent. You kept saying you were the innocent type, who knew? Lol.

But seriously, It was more organic than anything that this thread was fun. It is a natural place for fun to begin. It is a welcoming thread, welcomes are supposed to be fun not dour.

Moreover, an observation as to why many people join this thread, and more importantly, actively participate is because they are welcome with fun and laughter and who doesn't like that?

My hat is off to you, Sean, for creating a place like this.
