Hi everyone. My name is Jess, and I'm a stay at home mommy to a 4 y/o and a 2 y/o. Books are my world, have been for as long as I can remember. Found this group and am interested in sharing my love of reading with other like- minded people. I don't know about everyone else, but with maybe one or two exceptions, I am the only voracious reader in my circle of peers, so always looking for other book lovers. Some of my favorite thriller authors would be Harlan Coben, Karin Slaughter, Clive Cussler (adventure thriller?), Tami Hoag, Tess Gerritsen. I'll give most anything a try, but have to admit, if it doesn't capture my interest in the first 5-10 pages, I put it down!

Good choice of Authors. I also like Harlan Coben but have never liked Karin Slaughter, Tess Gerritsen or Kathy Reichs. Yet most people love them. Guess that is what makes us different! Enjoy our group and welcome.
Hi Jessica,
you will find this a great friendly group with lots of great authors.
I would recommend Simon Kernick, David Baldacci as well as those you mentioned.

Hey Jessica, the good thing about a goodreads community, is that we are all voracious readers. Welcome. Do your kids like books?

Hi Jessica, I'm very new to the group too. Just wanted to say I am reading my first Tess Gerritsen novel (The Surgeon). It pulled me in after about 10 pages and keeps getting better and better. I'm looking forward to reading more of her books.
Christine wrote: "Hi Jessica, I'm very new to the group too. Just wanted to say I am reading my first Tess Gerritsen novel (The Surgeon). There are a few stand alones that I thought were just ok, but most of the books keep my attention.
Thanks, Lorrea! I feel very welcome already! Sounds like you have your hands full... I know that my toddlers leave me exhausted at the end of the day.
Lisa wrote: "Hey Jessica, the good thing about a goodreads community, is that we are all voracious readers. Welcome. Do your kids like books?"They do! Just today, we went to Barnes and Noble and when we pulled up, my 4 y/o son yelled, "Yay! The bookstore!" We do lots of reading, talking about the books we've read. I've been reading to them since they were babies.
Hi, I'm Dan. I live between Bethlehem PA and Lagos, Nigeria. I'm a Web Consultant and more recently an independent author. I love to read thrillers, and honestly anything gripping. My authors are James Patterson, Vince Flynn and Dean Koontz. I just started reading the Jack Reacher series and I thinks it's also really good. I am also a movie buff, my favorite movies of all time include Con Air, The Usual Suspects and Inception. and I appreciate good music. Look forward to good book recommendations from the group.

Hello. JT Patten here. I was just invited to join, and enjoy Clancy, Greaney, Flynn, Taylor, DeMille, you name it.My professional experience is in intelligence and operations, and I am the author of Safe Havens: Shadow Masters, a black ops novel chocked full of real life experience in a world that few will ever see.
Thanks.
Howdy folk. The name is Tim. Despite my name I possess few mystical powers. I have been an avid reader most of my life but stopped in my last few years of high school and through university. When I started law school, my mind was overflowing with information so I took up reading again. I was derailed with the birth of my children (who can read when you can barely keep your eyes open) but have been back into if for a few years. Looking forward to interacting with you and excited to see the S.J. Bolton Q & A. I'm a big Bolton and I loving lovingly refer to her as "Tana French Dark". My favorite author is the aforementioned Tana French and I have recently discovered Linda Castillo who writes dark thrillers set in Ohio Amish country.
Hi everyone! I'm D.M. (but that's my pen name - my real name is Gemma) and I have just joined goodreads. I live in the UK, work as a primary school teacher and write novels in my spare time. My first novel 'The Phoenix Project' is coming out in May.I LOVE reading - mostly fantasy series by authors such as Suzanne Collins, Terry Brooks, Philip Pullman etc. I also like classic literature such as A Clockwork Orange, 1984, Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Picture of Dorian Gray, Tess of The D'Urbervilles etc.
Recently, I've been reading work by other indie authors. Some fantastic books I've just discovered are:
Tethers by Jack Croxall
X by Jack Croxall
Heaven Calls For An Angel by Michelle Lowe
The Elemental by Lisa
Timeshaft by Stewart Bint
The Darkeningstone: Trespass by Mikey Campling
Hello everyone. I live in Kentucky, and, yes I am actually related to Daniel Boone. My mother encouraged my love of reading and considered it a worthwhile way to spend one's time. I've passed on that great gift to my children, and I'm now working on the grandchildren. Not surprisingly, I majored in English in college and taught that subject. I have a Masters in Library Science, although I have not practiced as a librarian, except for my own large collection of books at home. I love to attend book events, and the best one so far has been Bouchercon last September in Albany. Mystery is my favorite genre, but I read lots of other fiction and young adult fiction, too (last year not so much YA, but I'm getting back to it). I got to know lots of authors at Bouchercon, and I highly recommend this event. I have a book blog called The Reading Room at http://www.readingroom-readmore.com/ Also, I have a book page on FB called Bookaholics. I probably won't be participating much here before April, as I'm getting ready to attend the Virginia Festival of the Book next week and will have company the week after. However, I am hoping to catch the S.J. Bolton chat, as she has been a favorite author of mine for some time now. I look forward to being a part of this group. Thanks.

Sean, is it as wonderful living in the Channel Islands as I imagine it to be?

Hi welcome, Jersey is a lovely island, especially when it's a lovely and sunny, we have beautiful beaches.
They say it's a tax haven, it is for the miilionaires that move here, but it is an expensive place to live.
Food is much more expensive than the mainland UK, and you cannot just move here and buy, you have to wait twnety years before you can buy unless you are qualified Jersey resident.
I have lived here for 37 years and married to a Jersey girl for 34 years (March 29th is our anniversary).
Lovely place to come on holiday.

OK...second attempt.Hi Everyone. I'm from Manchester, England, a coffee-snob, lover of rock music and a former national news journalist now working in public relations.
I'm dad to three kids (17-year-old daughter and two sons, aged 16 and 10) and husband to the lovely Annie.
I write and perform music, am a football-nut (I support Stockport County FC) and also a huge fan of crime, mystery and thriller books. Favourite authors right now include Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Mark Billingham, Val McDermid, Jeff Abbott, Tim Weaver, Harlan Coben and Gregg Hurwitz.
But I'm also likely to be found with my nose in a good old English farce - so Tom Sharpe and David Lodge have played a big role in my literary education.
Nice to be here.

Hi Sean, I see we have 2 Christines in the group! Actually everyone calls me Chris. Could we somehow change my handle from Chtistine to Chris? I am the Christine from Minnesota who just recently joined and has no photo of myself posted yet. Thanks, Sean. Excied to see how fast Good Thrillers is growing!
Thanks, Sean. I am new to SJ Bolton, but she looks like an author I would enjoy. What would anyone suggest as a good starting point with her books? I would like to attempt to read something of hers prior to the interview. Thanks!
Hi Mike,If you like British mysteries try Mark Billingham, Val McDermid, Tim Weaver or Simon Kernick - all brilliantly British.

No problem. Try Tim Weaver's 'Never Coming Back'. It's fantastic and keeps you guessing throughout. His David Raker character is sublime.
Hi Mike
Thanks for joining.
As Adam mentioned, and I know well, we are both fans of Simon kernick, his last 3-4 novels have been great.
Welcome to the group

Hello everyone,
I'm Antonello. I live in Montreal, Canada. My favorite authors include James Patterson, Dan Brown, David Baldacci, and Mario Puzo. I am starting to get into Baldacci. I'm grateful that someone recommended his books to me.
I have released my first mystery novel, Killer Rumors. James Patterson is a huge influence for my passion into writing thriller/mystery novels. I'll be writing many more in the near future.
I look forward reading your thoughts and comments in this group. This sounds like a wonderful group- I'm glad to be part of it.
Wishing you all the very best! :)

Another group we are in together. Welcome to the group!!
Hi. Most of the thrillers I read also fall into another genre IE urban fantasy, science fiction, fantasy, techno-thriller, etc. Thanks for the invitation. Actually I'm over-commited but I shall try to be a plus here, LOL.
Some of you may know me already as I'm not new to Goodreads. I browsed the book shelf when I first looked in. Thanks again for the invite Tim.
Hi!My name is Paige and I am "semi-retired" caring for my elderly Father. This gives me a lot of time to read! I like Thrillers, Mysteries and sometimes "cozy" Mysteries.
I am a single woman (middle aged) and also enjoy Spinning (Fiber) knitting and working out at our local gym. I am going to take up horse back riding lessons next week - I have had horses most all my adult life up until I moved in with my Father last year, and I really miss them!
I look forward to some our your suggestions on "Good Thrillers" .
Paige
