Please Introduce Yourself, Let's All Get To Know Each Other

Hey guys. My name is Jasmin and I am thirty-three years old male. And I've to say that I love thrillers, especially, the psychological ones, the kind that mess with your head, and are just too good to put down. But if I had to pick,
I'd pick those that have very beautiful and mysterious covers cause I am literally obsessed with books that have beautiful and mysterious covers, simply because of their beauty and because of their mystery. Anyway, I joined this group, and I am here, because I am searching for book recommendations
and for the people who have similar taste to mine, who love beautiful and mysterious covers as much as I do, and are willing to strike up a chat every once in a while, you know, talk about books and all kinds of recommendations. If you're curious and interested, you know where to find me =) Blessings

I’m Sarah. I live in Adelaide, South Australia. Have always loved reading but since having to resign early from my job in the police force with a back injury I have too much spare time to read. I’ve always loved thriller/crime/mystery books however, I now enjoy chick lit/romance to lighten the load. I have 2 adult children son, 28 and daughter,24 who have ‘flown the nest’. It’s just me and my pussycat now. I recently sold my house with a huge garden and bought a two bedroom unit. I miss all the plants and trees but not the work. Since finding this app my list of books I want to read has got out of control. Im trying not to look at notifications of new releases or what other people on here are reading but just can’t stop myself.
If anyone would like to chat about books, learn about my beautiful home town or really anything at all I have plenty of hours to fill 😊
Thank you, Sean. Seems like a truly great community. Already looking forward to discussions. =)

I live in Maine, 29 years old, I'm an avid reader, I'm totally obsessed with books and reading, there I said it HAHA! I work for a Bank, going on a little over 4 years now, and love it, I'm a cat lover, have 2 of them. My favorite book genres are thriller, suspense, especially psychological thrillers, political thrillers, science fiction, History and Historical fiction both, and I like some horror, especially anything by Stephen King! I look forward to getting to know all of you, thanks for having me.

Are you close enough to Bangor to get a glimpse? We visited last year for birthday, and I loved it!

Also, I go by my pen name(A.G. Fleury) as I am a new author who has published his first book(Kill Per View) last year.

It's funny you should ask, I live in Brewer which is literally right across the bridge from Bangor, Bangor and Brewer are considered neighbors. And I was born in Bangor too.

Just joined here as an author! I've been writing since 2008 but I started as a Sci-Fi author. I got into writing thrillers when the idea in my head of 'a girl face down in the soil with a wheelchair on top of her and a guy with a gun coming for her', got stuck in my head. I couldn't write anything else till I'd worked out her story.
I live in Somerset (much more famous for poetry and Sci-Fi than thrillers) with my wife and two lovely kids, one of whom may or may not have been the influence for Cady Grey, my protagonist!
Nice to meet you all,
Paul Arvidson

James Patrick, I'm known by all as 'Jimp' - my elder brothers started that (short for JimmyP) and so it was carried over to school and then my adult life. My wife-to-be, when we first met, thought it most funny. Jimp, I find from her, [a Norwegian], in the English dictionary means: scant, slender and I am slender [long-distance runner slender]. A sport I love and love much more as it helped break the ice when I met Tordis (Tor): an angel. Tor she told me means Thor. I'm most fascinated by thriller/suspense - fiction/non-fiction and have always taken an interest in books concerning the modern history of Europe and of late more the second war and the years post those dark times. If anyone has recommendations, I would be most grateful. Happy reading to all.

I’m Rob. I live just to the west of Chicago and spend my days working as a payroll clerk. My passion and that of my wife is making furniture; of which the house now abounds and has become a small business enterprise (we sell to friends and friends of friends). My wife’s family has a long military history; she was USAF and how we met. I did some time in the British Army (The Pay Corps). We read in our down-time, more so now the boys are getting ready to flit the roost. We tend towards good quality thrillers, espionage and political intrigue. Most of our friends and neighbours spend their time in front of the ‘box’ so we decided to take the step and join an online book club. Any recommendation will be gratefully received.

Since I have a full time job and a husband and family, I do not always have enough time to read and/or discuss books but I do what I can and I'm already looking forward to spend a whole lot of time here once I'm retired in a few years.
I read almost everything but sometimes the emphasis is more on one genre than the other. The only thing I'll never read is books with heavy tatooed men on them...
My favourite genre at the moment is thrillers and within that genre I prefer police procedurals, preferably from England or the Nordic countries. The darker the better!
I'm always open to suggestions!

Love Amsterdam

Formerly with the ambulance service, I now work in Brussels and drive expensive four-door saloons to earn a shilling. Consequently, although it is frowned upon, I occasionally find time in the working day when I can turn a few pages. I lean towards political intrigue and fact based thrillers.

Thank you for letting me join your group. Ive lived on long island my whole life (68)years. Im into conspiracy theories ufos ghosts bermuda triangle etc.I like to read mysterys, scifi, and who done it books. If anyone knows of a good mystery book please let me know.
Thanks
Steve

I love mystery thrillers, edge of your seat kinds of things, with twists and especially psychological ones. I need at least one relatable character to relate to! And I always judge the book by the cover :)
I am fairly new to Goodreads, only started being active this January. Based in the UK, I am reading my way through 2022 and always looking for more titles to add to my TBR :)
Hope to connect with some of you and talk thrillers! :)

Now, without that indulgence we decided - on advice from a good friend - to join an online bookclub. Our best wishes to all.

Love all thrillers, horror, and scifi.

My name is Karen and I love to read. I live in the suburbs of New Jersey not too far from New York City but I live in a town of less than 20,000 people which is a part of a countywide library system so it's like having over 80 libraries at my disposal. I was a reader prior to retirement and now, well, I read around 150 books a year. I read almost any genre but myteries and thrillers always attract my attention whether it's online or in a bookstore. Sometimes I have to remind myself that there are other genres I enjoy.

My love of reading stemmed from my mother, as she read to me nightly as a child. My first love was the Nancy Drew series, my mom had the entire collection and I'd read until my eyes no longer could stay open. As a YA, I TRIED numerous times to get into Stephen King novels but due to the long Chapters and overly drawn out details of the the characters, settings, dates. Etc; I never succeeded so I went to R.L Stine with Fear Street series of books and V. C. Andrews with her sagas. As an adult, I loved everything by Mary Higgins Clark and am loving anything written by B. A. Paris. I'm venturing into other Authors like Shari Lapena, and Tana French.

At long last, after twenty years, I've got him all to myself, again.
