Janet... Thank you, from what I've seen so far, it really does look like a really interactive group which is why I ended up leaving every other group I've tried previously
Welcome all new members. Malinda, I am also a tea drinker. I have seen the Northern Lights and there is a picture in my photos.

Hi I am Michael from a village in Israel but Leeds born. I love mysteries. Nevertheless, being from Yorkshire and a shrink I firmly believe 'there's nowt so queer as folk.'
I write about what might have happened but didn't. Being in Field Security in the army, being an original member of Oranit and setting up the council gave me a lot of insights and experiences to draw on. Add to that a bizarre sense of humour and you have the basic ingredients of where I am coming from.
I love my books plots and characters. That is all to the good as someone has to and it looks that I am alone.
It is for the best that I write for fun. I am having a great life now that my beloved Leeds United are promoted.
I even managed to tell my kids my last words : 'Watch carefully I am going to do this once.'

Is this bon ton? I have finished my fifth novel. It is out being edited. Prior to publishing would anyone read it as MS and make (polite) suggestions. I can add a re-imbursement.
Again, if not the right thing to do-- sorry
Hi everyone,I've recently joined, and wanted to introduce myself. My name's Ben Cross and I live in the south-west of Wales in the UK. I'm an archaeologist by trade and I've got two little boys (4 and 6) keeping me on my toes in the interim. I love books in a wide range of genres - adventure, literary fiction, historical, horror and of course thrillers - and I'm a voracious reader and writer. I watched my parents devouring books when I was young and they have clearly passed on that same appetite to me! I'll look forward to joining in the discussions.
Best wishes,
Ben

Hi Ben,
Way back in the dim and distant past, I spent my formative years in Laugharne. (Bore da, Bach).
Welcome to this excellent group. You'll find plenty of interest here.
Kerry,
Hi Kerry, Great to meet you! I'm just north of Carmarthen, so Laugharne's only a stone skip up the road as you'll know. It's very beautiful (no wonder it inspired Dylan T). We take the boys there every so often to do the walk around the front of the castle, by the estuary. Somehow I often find myself having a pint in The Fountain too😉
Ben
A beautiful part of the world. I left in 1975! After 12 years schooling.A lifetime ago.
I used to prefer the Three Mariners.
Hi everyone, I'm Michelle and I live on the east coast of Canada. I love reading any genre, but I've been on a mystery/thriller kick lately. I'm currently listening to the Empty Chair by Jeffrey Deaver in the daytime, and reading the Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James in the evenings.

Hi Michelle! Welcome! Hope you enjoy your books!
Hello!I am originally from Maryland but have lived in southern California for a little over 20 years. I am just getting back into being an avid reader after many, many years of not picking up books. Currently my loves are thriller, mysteries and horror, but I'm also looking to start reading some sci-fi as well. I also have a new booktube channel I'm working on as well.

Jennifer here. I hail from Texas (Hi @Teenie !). I, too, found this group by chance while browsing through Goodreads. I enjoy a wide variety of books, and will definitely go check on your list, Sean, of favorite action authors.
Thanks for the invitation, Sean. I'm another Texan, raised mostly in Fort Worth and then moved once I got married. Last home was 14 years outside the El Paso area and now live north of Abilene. Have lots of rescue animals with my emu and two of my horses being in their mid twenties. Love to read and I discovered audios this year, thanks to NetGalley Shelf, and now listen to one or two audios a week.
Action author, new one for me and is brilliant.
Jack Carr.
First book signed up for a new series already.

I thought Clancy's early/early-mid novels were his best; he set a high bar for himself tbf. Some great names on your list there. Never read any Dawson, but the others get a thumbs up. I guess overall I'm more towards the James Rollins, Scott Mariani side of things. Can't get enough Michael Crichton either! Ben
Mark Dawson, highly recommended.
Beatrix Rose and then Isabella Rose.
I still have John Milton to read(about 18-19 books.

Kev B wrote: "Thanks Ben, great to meet you too! Look forward to getting involved in the group with you all :)"I see you're a fan of Harry Potter, Kev. One of the best stories I ever read, hands down. I was working in Blackwells bookshop in Oxford UK, when the last book came out and it was quite an experience! Had to stay on all night (well... I say 'had to', I actually volunteered) to serve the mile-long queue of witches and wizards waiting to buy it at 00:00. Happy days😃

Thanks Hal - will check out both. Only Milton I've read is 'Paradise Lost', which I actually really enjoyed. Slightly earlier, but if you like lit from that period I'd recommend Spenser's Faerie Queene - there's all the usual Tudor waffle in there, but it's so epic in scope that it's difficult not to be impressed (and entertained).
Hi everyone, I'm new to Goodreads, I have a library diploma and live in Australia. I read most genres and enjoy a good thriller when I feel like a fast paced read. I thought the 'The Kind Worth Killing' by Peter Swanson was brilliant and 'The Girl on the Train' by Paula Hawkins was very good. I look forward to seeing your recommendations and to making new friends. Cheers. Donna.
Thank you for accepting me into your group. I live in Reykjavík Iceland but lived 15 years in London. I am an academic and just wish I had more time to read texts that are not part of work. For some reason I find it relaxing to read good well plotted murder mysteries with interesting characters and look forward to seeing your suggestions. I guess my favourite crime novel is Peter Hoeg's Miss Smilla's feeling for snow. I also like Sansom's Shardlake series, Camilla Lackberg's books, Henning Mankell's books on Wallander, Elizabeth George's books on inspector Lynley and Ann Cleeves' Shetland books... just to name a few.
Hello, My name is Chelsey. I am a 29 year old HR Manager in Alberta, Canada. I am obsessed with dogs, and reading. My favourite past time in the summer is reading a good book, usually a thriller or something chick-lit, on my patio sectional, with my chocolate lab curled up beside me, and drinking a crisp cider! My winter hobbies include much of the same above, minus the patio, as it is quite cold here in Canada. I am open to book recommendations and meeting new friends. Nice to “meet” you all in advance 😊
Welcome to all new members.
Over 100 joined this year already.
Welcome Annadis and Chelsey.

Chelsey, are you by any chance near Vancouver?
Hello! My name is Dana and I live on the east coast of the United States, in the state of Pennsylvania. I live with my husband, two sons, and very energetic white German Shepherd! I love to read and have been very grateful for my local library's curbside pickup during this pandemic. Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Hi Everyone, My name is Ishita, I am a 20 something graduate from India. I have always loved reading and used to finish 500 page books in one sitting, but with time this habit got lost and I barely used to read one book in months but this pandemic has pushed me to rekindle my love for books and I hope it continues from here on.
I am very new to goodreads and still figuring out my way through it. I like to try different genres but mystery thriller is my go-to genre always, specially psychological thrillers.
I am looking forward to getting some great recommendations, knowing other's opinions on my favorite books and making new friends. :)
