M.J. Javani | 2 comments Hi everyone,

I am MJ from the Old Dominion (VA). I am a fan of military and espionage thrillers including authors from Graham Greene to Tom Clancy and many in between. After years of extensive research in this field, I have recently finished writing two military/espionage novels which for which I will post in the Beta Reader's Group for Beta Readers. I will periodically post on military topics related to the Middle East for all those interested in that subject. I look forward to hearing and becoming friends with all of you! Cheers!

Thank you Amber, I just got a chance to watch that video on Youtube and I must say the song was a bit scary. Unlike the song, I am quite cheery :)

Amber Martingale That version was actually relatively tame, M.J. *wink* THIS version is scary!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PWuv... Sir Christopher Lee.

Since you say you're a cheerful person, how's this? Also Sir Christopher Lee with the Tolkien Ensemble: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_kkv...

D.C. Gilbert (dcgilbert) | 21 comments Wanted to let any interested folks know that my novel, Serpents Underfoot, will be free in Kindle format in honor if Veterans Day on Nov 11th & 12th. Here is one quote from a 5 Star review:

What did I like? This is the first book that I have read from this author, but I was struck with the realism of the storyline. He truly knew his subject and characters and brought them to life with the stroke of his pen/computer. The reality of the storyline hit me like a ton of bricks. It seems like this was written as an episode of today’s life. Being an animal lover and knowing a little about working dogs, I was very impressed with the information and the use of his K9 partner, it was awesome.

What will you like? Extreme action, passionate characters, powerful storyline, well written, strong and yet touching with many lives put into action and learning curves. Well thought out and shows the intense research in every page from the martial arts to the life of the military. Action and reality make this an explosive action thriller for your next read.

Amber Martingale It happens to newcomers all the time.

And you're welcome. Everyone gets one of my "Welcome to the Family" URLs, though not everyone gets an individual one. If there's more than five newcomers in a day, I just post an en masse URL and I'm done with it.

Lindy Hudis (lindyscribe) | 8 comments Hello everybody. My name is Lindy S. Hudis and I am also an author and reader. I love books, cooking and rock & roll music. I live in the Los Angeles, California area with the hubby and kids. I have written romance and erotica, but I think my heart is in mystery and suspense. I love both, actually. Mystery with a little romance thrown in is wonderful, just ask my idol, the Late Great Jackie Collins! So, I hope to make friends with fellow authors and readers as well. Thank you for having me. I look forward to being part of this group.

message 8518: by MinervaMG (new)

MinervaMG Hi, my name‘s Christine
I‘m 33 years young and from Germany.

I used to love reading, no specific genre, just any good story would do. I loved to dive into the story and get to know the characters.
But work (mainly) has gotten in the way of said passion. I was more able to relax by watching a TV series or movie then reading a book. And so over the last 10 years I read very little. I don’t know why that is. But I do know that I miss reading books and I decided to change that.

Although it's been some time since I read it I remember clearly that I was fascinated by Robert Littell's The Company.

I'm looking forward to your recommendations :-)

Vicky Wendt | 1 comments Hi, my name is Vicky. I am a retired psychotherapist and love to read and travel (Africa, Europe, Australia, etc.). This year it was 130 books but have, at this time read 133. I am never without a book, mostly audiobooks due to my enjoyment of doing chores and driving but also listening to books. The world would indeed be just an awful place without books. I will say that I am very frugal with my ratings on books. I have only given a 5 star to maybe 3-5 books. On the other hand, once picked up I seldom give up. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Crystal-Lynn Lemoine Hello,
My name is Crystal-Lynn and I love reading books, mostly thrillers.

I have a two year old daughter so reading isn't always an easy task, and sometimes takes me a while to finish a book, but I still love attempting to read.

I am from Ontario Canada, and am an early childhood educator in a kindergarten classroom.

Thank you for allowing me to join this club!

Georgia Rose | 35 comments Hello all!

My name is Georgia and I am a 20 year old from the UK. I currently work as a healthcare assistant and I hope to go onto become a nurse. I mostly enjoy reading horrors, but I have read some other genres like fantasy / drama and romance so I'm not too picky.

I want to try and expand my horror / thriller collections as so far I have quite a few of Stephen King books. Looking forward to hearing any recommendations that I can add to my growing collection.

Thanks for letting me join the group!

message 8547: by Linda (new)

Linda (uncbballfan) Hi y'all, I'm Linda from North Carolina, a Tarheel born and bred. I'm an avid reader once again, after a 9-year hiatus. Not a self-imposed break, but I'm so thankful to be reading again. And I love a good thriller, so I'm looking for some great recommendations and looking forward to being part of this group.

message 8548: by Ian (new)

Ian Coates (iancoatesthrillers) | 5 comments I'm an avid thriller reader and also writer. I was brought up on such authors as Desmond Bagley and Victor Canning, whom I still sometimes return to. Jack Higgins and Robert Ludlum are of-course firm favourites, and more recently, I've been enjoying authors such as Tom Cain and Duncan Falconer.

I have many years of experience working in the high-tech electronics industry, which tends to colour my own work. My first thriller Eavesdrop was published a few years ago, and Audible Studios has just launched an audio-book version narrated by Simon Darwen.
