Sure you would Like Linda Castillo, gruesome thrillers as well as Angela Marsons, Casey Hill.

I'm 26, live in Germany and while I joined Goodreads about a year ago, I have hardly looked at the groups around here by now, so I'm trying to change that.
I love thrillers where the characters do everything right and still can't escape what's coming for them (I don't need happy endings all the time, although I generally like them). I absolutely need thrillers with plots I can't guess at after approximately 20 pages. Also I love reasonable, well constructed plot twists. The ones that work towards story development, not just plot twists for plot twists sake.
Other than that I read a lot of (urban) fantasy and magic realism.
I'm always looking for people to follow and to spice up my feed, because I don't want to get stuck to the same-old books I've read at least twice already (*cough* Lincoln Rhyme series *cough*).
If you have any questions, go ahead and ask, I'm quite bad at this introduction thing :D

I would love to have that dream come true as well, although I think I'd get very little work done, I'd be too busy reading! And drinking coffee! :)

Thanks ,

My name is Terence and I live in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. A few years ago I retired after about 55 years in the retailing industry all over Australia. I have been happily married to Adrienne for fifty years come February. I have three loving and much loved children, all of whom are married and two of whom have provided us with three delightful grandsons.
After many years as a practising Catholic, including a number of teen years in a seminary preparing for the priesthood, I now identify as a Secular Humanist and an Agnostic Atheist.
My interests include All Classical Music; All Classical Sacred Music; Modern (post 1950) Jazz; Early Rock; and Books.
My favourite books are Crime/Mystery/Action; General Fiction; Science; and the Philosophy of Religion/Faith/Belief (not the 'how to' but the 'why').
Over the past few years, because of illness complications which have affected my eyesight, I have restricted myself to buying, borrowing or otherwise acquiring e-books and audiobooks. I can read with my Kobo Touch by increasing fonts sizes and line separation, etc., and this can be quite satisfactory, but my main source of ‘reading’ comes from my large collection of audiobooks. An excellent free library service is an indispensable resource!
I joined Goodreads in 2011 and have been more active in the past two or three years than in the earlier years. I use Goodreads exclusively for categorisation, etc., of my 4,000 plus audiobooks and ‘calibre’ exclusively for my almost 6,000 e-books.
I look forward to becoming a member of “A Good Thriller” and hopefully I can learn a lot and perhaps contribute a little.
Welcome Terence
Congratulations on nearly fifty years of marriage, and becoming a grandfather.

Thank you Amber for my Welcome to the Family - Bon Jovi. You're quite right, not my usual, but as an old 50's rocker I understand their roots and loved the energy of the performance. That said, I had HEARD of Bon Jovi of course, but that was my first ever Bon Jovi experience. I am wiser and happier as a result!

I love a good conspiracy thriller, the wilder the better-Robert Ludlum is a favorite. Today I like the novels by Jon Land
Not a big fan of serial killer thriller, the last one I really liked was The Silence of the Lambs.....so long ago.
Over the years I have discovered that the thrillers have jump from genre to genre-s/f , horror, religious etc.
So it is fun to find this group....

I miss those Cold War thrillers. I really liked the Bernie Sansom trilogy by Len Deighton

Welcome, Paul!
I still tend to read some of the Cold War thrillers and enjoy reading them. I think that more people should read them. A lot of them don't have as much gore as you see in some of them written today and still have plenty of action.

Thanks for the welcomes friends-a good thriller is long read for me, not a rush from chapter to chapter, but cliffhanger to cliffhanger. For I, in my childhood, had the good luck to see the great movie serials 1930's-1950's , fantastic plots, heroes, villains that put Dr. Doom to shame, and action, action, action.
Now all thrillers do not have be fast paced, look at the British spy novels-Len Deighton, Anthony Price, and John Le Care, is this stories thrills can come through the search old records, interviews and local background.
Here are five of favorite:
SS-GB-Len Deighton
The Great Impersonation-E. Phillips Oppenheim-WWI
The Most Dangerous Game-Richard Connell-one of the most famous short stories, who has adapted for movie, radio and tv.
Slayground-Richard Stark/Donald Westlake-one of best Parker caper novels.
and finally in my opinion the best spy thriller ever-Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy-John Le Care.
I will stop now, everyone have a pleasant evening,

Alan, your "Welcome back" URL is Hanggai - The Vast Grassland / 辽阔的草原 汉语字幕版: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nf1H...
Both are from my Favorites Playlist on YouTube.

I can understand what you mean, Alan. I've been suffering from daily migraines and light sensitivity issues among other problems for two and a half years. I have some good and some bad days. The past few week have been rough on me where I've had one decent reading day.

My name is Paul Ladipo, and I am a sucker for thrillers, and I'm in the process of completing my first (well, first in awhile) novel. I'm about 2/3 of the way through. I do hope that it gets picked up by an agent and publisher in the near future, and I hope that some of you find the time to read it if it does get published. I love nothing more than to see people entertained and I hope that you all get to experience this journey with me.
Besides writing, I enjoy board games, Netflix, Hulu, and music. Hope to get to know the community better as I delve into books and hone my craft.

Your Christmas Edition "Welcome to the Family" URL is Hark! The Herald Angels Sing - Nat King Cole: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxMEs...

I wish upon all wishes that one day I could write a magnificent thriller! I've made some attempts, but time is precious around here.
I'm a non-traditional psychology student, and I find it to be absolutely fascinating beyond belief. Ties right in with books with characters like ol' Hannibal Lector.
Looking forward to making new friends and possibly getting some good recommendations in this lovely group! :)
