Ann Costello | 2 comments Hey everyone! I'm Ann and I live in Ottawa, ON, Canada. I have two cute kiddies and a lovely husband. I love a lot of different kinds of books and read as much as living with a 1 and 4 year old will allow. My saving grace is the 35 min bus ride, twice a day, to and from work. I am never without my e-reader! A few years ago I swore I would never modernize, as I have loved reading for so long and love the smell of books, but I was gifted one for Christmas a couple of years ago and admit that I LOVE my Kobo Glo. I never run out of books and it's easy on my eyes and I can read one handed while riding the bus (when I can't grab a seat). I do have to say that mystery and thriller are my absolute favourite genres with general fiction coming in at a close second. Thank you for accepting my request into the group and Happy Holidays to anyone who reads this :)

Kevan | 4 comments Merry Christmas everyone...finally joined a Goodreads bookclub, its a tricky decision as there are so many, this seemed to fit best.

I'm 53 from Thurso, Scotland where I live with my Partner. I read pretty much anything but mainly Crime/Thrillers and Biographies.

I am a Member of Thurso Book Club which throws al kinds of books at me, most of which I give a chance to.

Anyway that seems enough of a starter as I can already hear a few snores so I will sign off for now.

Kevan

Laurie (just__me2) | 22 comments Hi all, my name is Laurie and am from Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. I'm an ER nurse and read every chance I get. I'm a proud mom of two great kids. One is an avid reader and the other has a collection of Field Guides and animal encyclopaedias to rival any library! Lol. I read a lot of different genres and enjoy finding new books to read. I'm looking forward to this group and getting to read some great books!

message 6178: by Karin (new)

Karin Corneau (steveburtonfan29) | 11 comments Hello!

I apologize in advance, as I know I have been a member of this group for a long time now, but I don't think I have actually introduced myself or perused any of the other topics. So for that I apologize! I also apologize in case I have introduced myself and am just having a brain freeze :)

I am Karin, 37 (soon to be 38 in Jan), currently living in Calgary, Alberta with my husband Phil and our 2 pets; Chance (Corgi/Collie cross) and Sherlock (cat). We've been married for only 2 years, but together for 16 :)

I work as close to full time as I can get (without getting any of the full time benefits I might add) and I do like to balance everything properly. I have a wide variety of interests & hobbies, but mainly; snail mail (yes I write letters the old fashioned way..pen to paper), reading, movies, colouring, travel, cooking and lots more!

I love to read and will read anything and everything. Though I do tend to steer away from war-themed, but depending on the plot line, I might give it a go. I really can't say no! I have a soft spot for paranormal/supernatural reads, but love a good Mystery/Thriller as well. Not a huge fan of chick-lit, but again, will read just about anything!!

Thanks Karin and welcome, even if you have been a member for a while...

Now you have perused, you will see many great topics.

Thanks for introducing yourself

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | -1 comments Hi everyone :-)

Thank you for the invite Sean!

I actually read almost all genres of books, which I'm glad because it opens up different worlds to get lost in :-) I love wildlife/animals and my greatest time was hiking with my dog in the woods, but alas I got sick and home bound, lost him to cancer so now me and my retired greyhound lounge and read and watch Netflix. Well she only participates if there are belly rubs involved.

I'm recently a mod in one of my many groups. I hope I can do good! I look forward to meeting new people in this group and talking books when I can.

Have a wonderful day :-)

message 6181: by Silver Thistle (new)

Silver Thistle (silverthistle) Hello,

I'm new to the group today and new to thrillers too. I'm from Scotland and my first love is Post Apocalyptic fiction but I read most other genres too. Never really got into thrillers though, closest I came was Dan Brown.

Anyway, recently I started reading Tartan Noir, starting with Ways to Die in Glasgow which I LOVED and I have added several more since. One thing led to another and in the last month or so have branched out into thrillers. I've read a few Lee Child's on my dads recommendation and just finished the first Michael Connelly (Harry Bosch).

Thought I'd maybe lurk around here for a bit and find some new recommendations from the pros. I've spent a small fortune in the last month on thrillers so I have quite a pile here already but my TBR mountain can stand to hold a few more :)

So, that's me :)

Hello Melissa. Sorry about you dog. I put my golden dog in August. Inoperable brain tumor. Still have a Dacshund. Welcome to the group. It makes for great company. Plenty of interesting people and topics. Especially when you're stuck home.

message 6185: by Jocelyn (last edited Jan 01, 2016 02:40PM) (new)

Jocelyn Wilder | 1 comments Hi. I'm Jocelyn and new to Goodreads. I particularly enjoy reading suspenseful mystery novels and thrillers. Basically, anything that gets the blood pumping and requires more than an average amount of focus. I am not a fan of the cookie-cutter novel. If I can predict the next word out of the main character's mouth, chances are I'm on to another book. Lately, I've found several New York Times Bestsellers very disappointing and would very much appreciate informed recommendations! Oh, and I'm from the windy city-not one in Illinois-rather Kansas, where tornadoes are often our claim to fame.

I have been a teacher for 26 years and am married for 39 years to my high school sweetheart.

message 6194: by Kaz (new)

Kaz | 1 comments Hi everyone. I'm a uni student in my first year of criminology (I know cool right) with plenty of time to kill and as I'm a true crime fan I thought this group would suit me just fine. A 'high ranking' member of this group recommended it to me personally (my mum JANET).
As she spends so much time with this group I figured I would find out what all the fuss is about and see why she uses it as an escape route from us, her loving brood.

Any way hello from me and I will be happy to answer any questions about the moderator (within reason she is my mum).

Oh, haha, cheeky minx!

Karan is a genuine fan of crime fiction. She's read a fair few Scarpetta books and some others. But also loves YA and fantasy etc. Hopefully she'll meet other like minded souls around on GR and make new friends. Though uni commitments come first!!!
