Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments A chance to get through my tbr pile, in alphabetical order!

Janice (jamasc) | 59911 comments Hi Finn! I'm glad that you have joined us and the alphabet challenge.

I just finished reading The Leopard and really enjoyed it. I gave it 4 stars, but wonder if I shouldn't have given it 5. The Joy Luck Club has been a long time favorite, both the book and the movie.

I keep "nearly" picking up Bel Canto, but haven;t yet. such an intriguing title. Be good to see what you think of that one.

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments yep, Judy I will change it-I usually do put the links in but did this on my phone so wasn't able to... looking forward to getting started!

Helen, looking forward to reading Bel Canto, though struggling to download it on my kindle at the moment, can only find a German version!!

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments Janice, The Leopard has been on my list since it came out-my boyfriend told me it was brilliant! will let you know what I think.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it.

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments You have a really nice list. Good luck! : )

message 11: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments thanks Connie, I'm hoping to get through them all quite quickly, but not sure I'll be able to stick to them all in order as a lot are paperbacks and am already in the dilemma of finishing my first and only having my kindle with me. I may just have to read the alphabet out of order....

message 12: by Finn (last edited Jan 07, 2013 12:50AM) (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments I also can't find Bel Canto on my kindle at all (in the store they only have the German version!!), so going to add the to my future tbr pile and find another b to read....

message 13: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments My new book for B is Breathless by Louise Marley

message 14: by Ava Catherine (new)

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Maybe you can find Bel Canto at a used bookstore. I am sorry that it didn't work out for this challenge.

message 15: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments I tried in waterstones and typically, it was sold out. was not meant to be for this challenge so will stick with reading State of Wonder for 's' instead. Really enjoying Affinity...

message 16: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4030 comments Ah, nice list there, Finn. Ah, Dracula is long. I started it last year, am still to finish but it is unlike other classics and you may read it quickly.

message 17: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments I haven't tried it yet. I am being more relaxed with this list; so may start another book at the same time if it takes me too long!! otherwise I'll probably get bored...

message 18: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments finished Affinity... a very good read-not usually into the spiritual/magic books but I really enjoyed it. Have also finished Breathless-a very easy, enjoyable read-a good one for taking on holiday.

message 19: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments Onto C-have finished my last book without my kindle around so am changing my C read to Cuckoo by Julia Crouch...

Janice (jamasc) | 59911 comments You're doing great! I hope you enjoy your switch. :)

message 22: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments Just finished Dracula (my choice for D)... what a book! Having never seen a film version or read it before I didn't really know the story.

message 23: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments Took a bit longer than my previous reads but worth it...

message 24: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments Starting another pretty long one - Everything She Ever Wanted by Ann Rule. It comes highly recommended and I imagine will be a good contrast after Dracula.

message 25: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments Have recently read The Fever Tree byJennifer McVeigh, a fantastic book for my F choice - I would highly recommend it; about one woman's adjustment to an unwilling move to Africa, a moving and interesting read.

message 26: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments Highly recommend Gentlemen by Nichola Rivers - my choice for G. A well-written and fun historical debut based on her home town.

Janice (jamasc) | 59911 comments It's good to see you whittling down your list, Finn.

message 28: by Finn (new)

Finn (music_finn) | 19 comments Slowly slowly - I have to say, I've been reading other books along the way, so not getting through it as quickly as I'd originally anticipated... but thoroughly enjoying it.
