Tower Team D: Dangerously Determined to Devour All Books
Rebecca wrote: "I'm confused about round II...did we finish round I already??"They are just trying to get things set up for round II. I think at the rate some of the teams are going, we probably only have 2 months left or so. So keep posting books here :)

[image error] Good morning, Team! I hope everyone is doing well. The mini challenge has started, so if you read any books that fit our Shades of Gray, please post!
I'm loving all the mystery books. My TBR is groaning.
Leslie you would love them. The things Jim went through Dead Blow Hammer had me shaking my head. It wasn't just a thing here and there it was continous. One thing after another. I had to keep reading just to see wht was going to happen to him next. You will love it!!!
Still reading Again but it is good. The main female character lives today. But she has flashbacks to a previous life in the 1500's and the flashbacks is freaking her out. She yearns for the man back then even though she is married to a man now. I am only a third of the way through the book.lol

Marguerite, both of those looked good! They are definitely being added to the ever growing (virtual) pile of books!
Finished
- Captain's Challenge, and Mystery challenge. It's a historical mystery, set in 1890s Paris, and featuring fictional versions of real-life people (Nellie Bly, Jules Verne, Oscar Wilde amongst them)
Mods is it ok for me to post a link here for a goodreads group that is about free for review in all genres (lots of books). All you have to do is review the book. If the answer is no I understand. Incase the answer is no anyone interested just drop me a line to my inbox here and I will give it there.
The only reason I am bringing this up is I just wanted to tell my friends here about it.smile

@Deedee - I think you need to go to the sign up page and say you want to play. And there are a few questions they want you to answer. Also, here is a cover for your book so it qualifies for Shades of Gray mini Challenge
I love historical mysteries! Sounds good.
I just finished
It qualifies for Captain's Challenge and Mystery Challenge.
I have started
and it qualifies for all 3 challenges.
You are just rolling through that series, Melissa! The third one was on sale at Amazon, so I grabbed it. Now I need to read the first one.
Leslie wrote: "You are just rolling through that series, Melissa! The third one was on sale at Amazon, so I grabbed it. Now I need to read the first one."I can't stop. I just started the next one this morning even though I was going to read a different book, lol. They are addicting.
Good morning all! I should have started the day with a more nutritional breakfast like the smoothie posted above but instead I am eating an egg sandwich! Yum!Today I am still reading
and hope to start
for the Shades of Gray challenge!
I'm not a smoothie person, Katie. I just thought it would be nice for our more health conscious team members. I don't drink coffee either! I just like the idea of it. I drink coke starting pretty early in the morning (bad, I know!).Great looking covers!
@Leslie - I really liked Matched, which surprised me. I don't usually read dystopian books or even very many young adult books, but I did like this one. (Also liked the Hunger Games). The only reason I had this book was because it was a BN deal one day so I bought it.
Free for review. Just finished
Again. A good light read. Where past, present and future comes together in a surprising way. Again, is about a love that endures through the centuries. For mini and captain challenges.
Just started
Lost and Found in Russia.

@Rebecca - I don't like distopina literature either and find YA often difficult. Too many young adults in my Real Life! And I am probably one of the few people in the world that wasn't wowed by Hunger Games. But Matched sounded interesting and I have to read 12 YA novels this year for a challenge!

Sure, Marguerite. Just in this Team's tread, though; where people know you. We had a previous complain when someone started branching out to other Teams.

@Leslie - Well if not else it's a pretty quick read! I think it was pretty good, and though I don't have much YA novels to compare it to, I'd recommend it for your challenge
A goodreads group named Making Connections is about 90% to 95% free books for review (you get them free for a book review). On this group if the section has ARR before it for example - ARR:Historical-Romance/Fiction then all the posts listed under this is free books for review. There are just about every genre listed that has free books for review. Also some sections that don't have the ARR before it also has them as well, just nose around.lol

Leslie you are very welcome.
Finished:
for the Captain's and Mystery Challenges. There may even be some Gray on the cover. These books are so much fun!
Leslie wrote: "I am obsessed with them, Chris! And with Roarke."...and thank goodness there are lots of them to enjoy!
Rebecca wrote: "Finished The Joy Luck Club for the Captain's challenge!"I loved The Joy Luck Club, though I always thought it's one of the very few books where the movie is even better.
Good morning Team! Happy Friday!!I finished my book early this morning.
It works for Captains Challenge, Mystery and Shades of Gray mini challenge!
I tried really hard not to like this one. I have a thing about books set in S. Louisiana with fake cajuns and the whole swamp thing. Makes me crazy! But this one won me over. Great characters, great mystery.
I just finished
for Captain's challenge and maybe the grey writing is enough for the Shades of Grey mini challenge?
@Leslie - I've had The Joy Luck Club for as long as I can remember, but somehow never picked it up until now. So glad I did!
Finished
, really enjoying this series. This qualifies for the captain's challenge, but does it have enough grey?
Hello all!@Gayle - yes, it has enough gray for me! And that is the next one I have on my TBR to read.
@Amanda - I remember seeing the Joy Luck Club, but not whether I liked it or not.
Finished Fear the Worst and I came away disappointed. The first half was great, but it slowly fell apart. Starting Full Dark, No Stars.
Hi Rhonda! It's so sad when books start out full of promise and then don't deliver at the end. And, I think I'm the only person in the world who has not read a Stephen King novel.
I have started
for another team challenge and I will also be starting
which will fit for the mystery challenge and the shades of gray challenge.

Nope. Round II is still going strong, Rebecca. We just anticipate over 240 people (the current amount in Round II) and want to get our ducks in a row early.
