Ideas from a few other challeneges that I have seen are besides green covers:
Green in the title
Author name Green
Green with Envy
Green with Jealousy
Green Thumb
Rolling in the Green or greenbacks
Being Green - sick

Besides St Pat's Day March has
Eyes of March (March 15th) Theme/covers about betrayal, friendship/friendship gone bad.
Day Light Saving Time Change and Spring Equinox - Theme/covers about Time and about balance/unbalance
Easter - Multicolor, geometic, bright/electric covers or spiritural theme/covers

Years ago I would NEVER not finish a book no matter how bad they were....BUT now I have no problem putting a book on the DNF lol. Too many GOOD books and not enough time to read them if I'm wasting it on a bad book.

EXACTLY!

Barbara ★ I finished Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (Hannah Swensen, #1) by Joanne Fluke today. The main character is a baker which fits for #6 of the mini-challenge ideas. I read about half the book yesterday and then stopped to update challenges with the last 10 books read in February.

I'm doing a buddy read on Goliath (Leviathan, #3) by Scott Westerfeld so I read the first 100 pages of that also. Now i think I'm taking a break from reading and maybe watching an episode or two of Grey's Anatomy with McDreamy.

In between reading for the buddy read, I'm going to also read The Dragon Who Loved Me (Dragon Kin, #5) by G.A. Aiken .

Nancy | 577 comments Yes, thank you Lisa Kay! I've only been here for part of the color challenge so far but having so much fun with these mini challenges!

@Robin - What a great March challenge! Looking forward to it!

message 1365: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 577 comments I just finished Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross today which will fit in for #5 in the March challenge. I really enjoyed this one and don't know why I never read it before now! I've just started The Book of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern and not sure if it will fit into any of the categories for this month.

message 1366: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) I've finished 25 books for this challenge so far and I'm partway through three more books!

Reading:

Swept Away (Trouble in Texas, #1) by Mary Connealy Swept Away by Mary Connealy

Only a few chapters in this book, but I'm already loving it! :)

A Killer Among Us (Women of Justice #3) by Lynette Eason A Killer Among Us by Lynette Eason

Really good so far. A lot of suspense! :)

Temptation A Novel by Travis Thrasher Temptation: A Novel by Travis Thrasher

I've taken a little break from this one, but hope to get back to it this week and finish.

We are getting there fast, Barbara★. Plus, we wanted everyone who wants to to have time to sign-up. It will take some time to crunch some numbers.

We will be having smaller teams; however, I will try to put Teammates for Round II together with Teammates from Round I, but really it is going to be about balancing the numbers. Some people only committed to five books, some 500.

Aneeqah | 322 comments So I finished up Legacy of the Clockwork Key (The Secret Order, #1) by Kristin Bailey , which I'm going to fit into Category 6- The Girl Scouts because the main character is working as a maid, and makes lots of yummy deserts, and totally deserves a badge. ;)

I'm currently reading The Murmurings by Carly Anne West , which besides the creep-tastic cover, is pretty blah right now.

Barbara ★ I finished Goliath (Leviathan, #3) by Scott Westerfeld and Delusion in Death (In Death, #35) by J.D. Robb both were spectacular.
Both work for #5 strong female and Goliath also works for #3 - third in a series.

Still working on The Dragon Who Loved Me (Dragon Kin, #5) by G.A. Aiken which was really hard to get into. Too many characters, too many enemies and no real connection to the H/H. About halfway through it started getting interesting and now it's moving along. I should finish this today at work.

message 1376: by Cathie (last edited Mar 06, 2013 09:05PM) (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments I finished 2 books: North of Beautiful North of Beautiful by Justina Chen and The Orchardist The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin . Both excellent reads.

North of Beautiful definitely fits into #5 on the Mini March challenge, but I'm not sure where (or if) The Orchardist fits in anywhere.

I have to say The Orchardist is one of my all time favorite reads :-)

message 1377: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 577 comments I finished 92 Pacific Boulevard (Cedar Cove, #9) by Debbie Macomber . Don't think it fits into any of the March Challenge categories though. I'm still working on The Magicians (The Magicians, #1) by Lev Grossman and The Book of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern .

March Challenge:
#3 - Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson #7) by Patricia Briggs (animal shifters)
#5 - Midnight Blue-Light Special (InCryptid, #2) by Seanan McGuire (strong female main character)
#6 - Peach Pies and Alibis (A Charmed Pie Shoppe Mystery #2) by Ellery Adams (baker)

message 1382: by Melanie (last edited Mar 07, 2013 01:16PM) (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) Finished Swept Away by Mary Connealy.

#5 - the main female character is very strong
#6 - the main female character made cookies in the book.
#7 - book one in the Trouble in Texas series.
#8 - Would you consider the guy on the cover "rugged"?

Swept Away (Trouble in Texas, #1) by Mary Connealy

Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments Thanks Christal; Paper Valentine has been on my TBR list since before it's release date but I didn't know anyone who had read it yet :-).

Finished Taken. It was time not well spent. 2 stars. Fits into category 5 (at least it's author thought so!)

message 1386: by Barbara ★ (last edited Mar 07, 2013 03:09PM) (new)

Barbara ★ Finished The Dragon Who Loved Me (Dragon Kin, #5) by G.A. Aiken which wasn't nearly as funny as the other books in the series. This is one that if you haven't read the others in the series, you'd have no idea what was going on. (Works for #6 strong female)

I also finished Master of Shadows (Mageverse, #8) by Angela Knight (doesn't fit any category) and Aunt Dimity Down Under (An Aunt Dimity Mystery, #15) by Nancy Atherton (#4 bright color)

Hope, this is still Round I. We go until one of the four Teams reaches 2,013 books. We will be breaking down into small, more manageable groups for Round II. (The race to the next 2,013 book finish.)

Also, it will be set-up in a separate group so that people can NOT mistakenly sign-up on the Home Page. Also, some people have signed up and then dropped out because of Real Life. It makes it very difficult to track.

And I lov' the series. Going to be hard to wait until May for the next one to come out. Kiss and Spell

Have started One Night by Margaret Wild for my Aussie author challenge. The format/style is different and haven't decided if I like it or not yet. It is a quick read though.

The next series I'm going to read is
Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Iron Kissed (Mercy Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs Bone Crossed (Mercedes Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson, #5) by Patricia Briggs River Marked (Mercedes Thompson, #6) by Patricia Briggs because the new release Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs

or

Existence (Existence Trilogy, #1) by Abbi Glines Predestined (Existence Trilogy, #2) by Abbi Glines Ceaseless (Existence Trilogy, #3) by Abbi Glines

I'm planning on both series this month so it doesn't matter which one I'm in the mood when I'm ready to start reading :-D

If you haven't noticed when I read a series I plan the whole series at once. I'm a back-to-back reader when it commes to series.

Oh, I have to get some green books in this month too. Yes, I have some plan. I even found a series called Green that I might read.
Gone to Green (Green #1) by Judy Christie Goodness Gracious Green (Green #2) by Judy Christie The Glory of Green (Green #3) by Judy Christie Rally 'Round Green (Green #4) by Judy Christie Downtown Green (Green #5) by Judy Christie

message 1398: by Aneeqah (new)

Aneeqah | 322 comments Finished up The Nightmare Affair (The Arkwell Academy, #1) by Mindee Arnett today. I'm counting is as Category 3- Lion/Lamb because there's a phoenix that plays a pretty big role in the story, showing up a lot. Otherwise, I suppose that this could work for first in series too. =)

I'm unsure what to pick up next, I might get some blog tour books out of the way. Or perhaps something older on my bookshelf. So indecisive, haha. ;)
