Melissa (ladybug) | 1048 comments I was thinking of getting the Rain Wild chronicles, but noticed that there were some series that came before it. What would be the best way to go about reading her work?

Kellyanne Had/having a fun week of reading. An Aussie young adult novel Saving Francesca, an Aussie cosy mystery Flying Too High (Phryne Fisher #2), and will finish How to Be a Woman after lunch.

Really enjoying the Phryne Fisher mystery series. Set in the 1920s in Melbourne, with a strong, confident, fiercely intelligent and independent lead character that is all about seducing young men and showing the lazy coppers what's what. :)

How to be a woman (while I also agree it is nothing ground-breaking or even interesting feminism-wise), is a thoroughly entertaining memoir and I have been laughing so much that I have had goosebumps in my hair for the last hour :P I might not survive this.

No pink covers unfortunately. I seem to be all out of them on my TBR shelf, virtual and physical.

Jess (jesscatt) | 200 comments Finished Good Omens by Terry Pratchett last night, starting Song of Susannah (The Dark Tower, #6) by Stephen King today!

message 1055: by Renee (new)

Renee Okay I got a little behind while I was sick with the flu. I am caught up, for now. I am driving 10 hours for a funeral this weekend so I doubt I will get much read. I haven't been keeping up with the board this past week.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Melissa look at message 1051. I wrote about how I read the 4 series about the Elderlin world. I not the only way to read it. Guess you could go with them in order 1-4 or just read about Fritz and Fool or about the Live Ships. Whatever makes most sense and interest to you.

message 1060: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 577 comments I just finished Déjà Dead (Temperance Brennan, #1) by Kathy Reichs for the NBRC monthly read. I'm hoping to finish My Friend Leonard by James Frey today to get at least one book in for the pink cover mini challenge! I'm trying to round up some books off my shelf for red for next week. What a great way to get books read off of my own shelves!

Jayme Pendergraft | 20 comments Hmm, been a while since I've posted what I've read, so here's a catch up post :) I'm up to 21.

The Prestige by Christopher Priest eh- not a great book. Might have been better if I hadn't listened to the audiobook.

This Time Together Laughter and Reflection by Carol Burnett funny and short. Loved and did not expect all the old Hollywood stories.

Enchantments by Kathryn Harrison I always like anything Romanov, and this was interesting because it focused on Alexi instead of one of his sisters.

BZRK (BZRK, #1) by Michael Grant Disappointed! I loved the first Gone book and had high hopes, but didn't like this one.

Home for the Holidays by Debbie Macomber Cute Christmas stories.

Currently reading Jungleland A True Story of Adventure, Obsession, and the Deadly Search for the Lost White City by Christopher S. Stewart , Peter and the Starcatchers (Peter and the Starcatchers, #1) by Dave Barry and The Diviners (The Diviners, #1) by Libba Bray

I'm actually a little disappointed. I loved the Gemma Doyle books. The Diviners is good, but no where near how great they were.

message 1088: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I finished Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan and Killer Instinct (Charlie Fox Thriller, #1) by Zoë Sharp .

Stormdancer (The Lotus War, #1) by Jay Kristoff is a buddy read which I will start tomorrow. I didn't realize both Mr. Penumbra and Stormdancer were on my Nook and I can barely read one book without the battery going dead so definitely couldn't do both in one day.

message 1090: by Kellyanne (new)

Kellyanne Yay, a few days off work and I managed to spend lots and lots of time reading. Finally finished a few I have had on the go for a while.

I finally read The Eyre Affair (Thursday Next, #1) by Jasper Fforde . Funny, I had started this twice in the past, but can't explain why I put it down. I found it a lot of fun this time around and it caused me more than a couple of late nights.

How to Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran . This didn't even last a day. Just what I needed - the kind of laughing that puts goodbumps in the hair.

And also read my first JD Robb book - Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb . It was for a challenge, but it wasn't really my thing. Glad I gave it a go though.

Currently on Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger and Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover . Light reads are my friend right now as I prep to start a new uni degree (and overcome my long nurtured fear of Maths!).

message 1091: by Christina (last edited Feb 09, 2013 11:06PM) (new)

Christina (iceprincess) | 51 comments I finally finished Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star by Heather Lynn Rigaud . It was cute, but I had a hard time really getting into it. I think it was mostly my own fault though; I couldn't quite let go enough to stop comparing all the characters to their classic version selves. LOL About to start Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs .
