Christina (iceprincess) | 51 comments Finished Sea Witch (Children of the Sea, #1) by Virginia Kantra and The Starlight Rite by Cherise Sinclair , which were really good, and Raintree Haunted by Linda Winstead Jones , which was just ok. I'm going to start To the Edge (Bodyguard, #1) by Cindy Gerard next.

Skandia (sfgirl) | 1724 comments Finished my 9th book How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake, #1) by Kerrelyn Sparks . If you are into good PNR and vampires, this series looks really promising. I liked it!

I'm going to start Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour, #1) by Olivia Cunning now. I read that it's characters are based on a real band - A7X - which I happen to like. Intresting ....

message 903: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 63 comments Oh, I love that band and I'm so adding that book to my list now.

Huh...so what is the standard when that happens? I read the hardcover version, which has numbered pages, but clearly there's a copy that is considerably longer... I just selected the edition that was the first one listed when I searched for the book. I rarely ever bother to find my edition when I'm just posting in a thread if the cover isn't important to the discussion.

Do we have guidelines for this? :)

Oh, do check out http://www.overdrive.com/ as more and more libraries are getting it. Of course, your library would have the better link to what you need to download to your computer or iPod.

message 906: by Jayme Pendergraft (new)

Jayme Pendergraft | 20 comments I finished One Second After which I really liked. It has mixed reviews, but the audiobook was excellent. I'm now listening to Fireworks over Toccoa which I'm already tired of!

On a side note- I love overdrive!! I've gotten kind of addicted and it's where I've been getting all of my audiobooks and ebooks. It's helped with another, worse addiction- buying too many books!

LOL Miss ya Midu!!! Today is my day off and I'm catching up on my groups, listening to an audiobook that I started this week while driving to/from work and hope to finish up a few other books so I can get them added to our challenge ☺ I say BOO to the hectic schedule too, but my schedule for the next two weeks is much better, mostly day shifts ☺

My commute to work isn't real bad but you are so right. The audiobooks are a LIFESAVER!!! I like music and listening to the radio, but audios are so much better ☺ It's a great way to help knock out some challenge books/TBR books. I don't have spare time to waste now LOL

HI BARBARA!!! :( I leave an hour before my scheduled work time just so I have minutes to spare cuz you never know what can happen. Thank goodness my job gives us a 5 minute grace period (clock in 5 mins early/5 mins late) for clocking in. I use Overdrive through my library and it seems they have a much better selection than the actual library does. Although most of the audios are WMA which Kindle doesn't support so I think I need to invest in a MP3 player of some kind. Probably worth your while checking in to it ☺

I saw somewhere about a site where you can get audiobooks fairly cheap....LK was it you that told us about it? Audio something or other? IF I remember correctly you get a membership and get so many per month based on your membership and they have good sales etc etc???

It might be audible.com , Robin. There are different levels of membership with a varying number of 'credits' available based on the membership level. Hubby gets (I think?) 24 credits to use in a 2-year period, for around $200. Most books cost one credit.

They frequently have sales that allow you to buy books for less, and sometimes have deals that if you spend four of your credits, you get $10 deposited into your account.

Check out their site for more info -- and a free trial :)

message 932: by JoLene (last edited Feb 03, 2013 12:48PM) (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) | 705 comments I've been on a bit of a reading tear --- augmented by the discovery of audio books. In the last week, I've finished The Secret Keeper, Time and Again by Jack Finney, Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen, and Tough Shit: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good by Kevin Smith (warning: explicit content).

I've read 10 books for the challenge -- and had only committed to 50 for the year. However, I have some long ones coming on the list this month so things should slow considerably.

Karen, what is the name of your bookshelf you have "tagged" for this challenge? I couldn't figure it out. Plus, I don't see those books here , under your "view books" page. Also, the bookcover you selected for The Hobbit is not blue.
