Finished my 9th book
. If you are into good PNR and vampires, this series looks really promising. I liked it!I'm going to start
now. I read that it's characters are based on a real band - A7X - which I happen to like. Intresting ....
❉⊰Gayle⊱❉ wrote: "Your link goes to a paperback edition of 194 pages."Huh...so what is the standard when that happens? I read the hardcover version, which has numbered pages, but clearly there's a copy that is considerably longer... I just selected the edition that was the first one listed when I searched for the book. I rarely ever bother to find my edition when I'm just posting in a thread if the cover isn't important to the discussion.
Do we have guidelines for this? :)
Barbara ★ wrote: "Someone told me about overdrive but I haven't had a chance to check with my library."Oh, do check out http://www.overdrive.com/ as more and more libraries are getting it. Of course, your library would have the better link to what you need to download to your computer or iPod.
I finished One Second After which I really liked. It has mixed reviews, but the audiobook was excellent. I'm now listening to Fireworks over Toccoa which I'm already tired of!On a side note- I love overdrive!! I've gotten kind of addicted and it's where I've been getting all of my audiobooks and ebooks. It's helped with another, worse addiction- buying too many books!
Midu wrote: "yaaay new job! boo hectic schedule! yaaay 19+ books! miss you too,Robin! :-D"LOL Miss ya Midu!!! Today is my day off and I'm catching up on my groups, listening to an audiobook that I started this week while driving to/from work and hope to finish up a few other books so I can get them added to our challenge ☺ I say BOO to the hectic schedule too, but my schedule for the next two weeks is much better, mostly day shifts ☺
Lisa Kay wrote: "Glad you touched base with us, ♥Robin♥, and glad you are liking your new job. Audiobooks can save a dreary commute."My commute to work isn't real bad but you are so right. The audiobooks are a LIFESAVER!!! I like music and listening to the radio, but audios are so much better ☺ It's a great way to help knock out some challenge books/TBR books. I don't have spare time to waste now LOL
Karen wrote: "Miss you Robin :D :D and yay! For the 19 books."TY!!! Miss you too Karen!!!! I'm trying to keep up with my end of the bargain for us "WINNING" this challenge ☺ As long as my kindle doesn't fail me, I'm in business LOL
Barbara ★ wrote: "Robin my commute is roughly the same - 45 minutes to work (but only because I leave at the crack of dawn to miss the morning craziness) and closer to an hour and a half on the way home. I love my ..."HI BARBARA!!! :( I leave an hour before my scheduled work time just so I have minutes to spare cuz you never know what can happen. Thank goodness my job gives us a 5 minute grace period (clock in 5 mins early/5 mins late) for clocking in. I use Overdrive through my library and it seems they have a much better selection than the actual library does. Although most of the audios are WMA which Kindle doesn't support so I think I need to invest in a MP3 player of some kind. Probably worth your while checking in to it ☺
I saw somewhere about a site where you can get audiobooks fairly cheap....LK was it you that told us about it? Audio something or other? IF I remember correctly you get a membership and get so many per month based on your membership and they have good sales etc etc???

I definitely will do this as soon as I get a minute but with all these darn challenges (haha) not a minute to spare.
♥Robin ♥ wrote: "I saw somewhere about a site where you can get audiobooks fairly cheap....LK was it you that told us about it? Audio something or other? IF I remember correctly you get a membership and get so many per month based on your membership and they have good sales etc etc??? "It might be audible.com , Robin. There are different levels of membership with a varying number of 'credits' available based on the membership level. Hubby gets (I think?) 24 credits to use in a 2-year period, for around $200. Most books cost one credit.
They frequently have sales that allow you to buy books for less, and sometimes have deals that if you spend four of your credits, you get $10 deposited into your account.
Check out their site for more info -- and a free trial :)
Finished Clobbered by Camembert and started Death by Danjeeling. Hope to finish it this weekend but our oldest is coming home for the Super Bowl so I don t know how much reading will get done.
Yes, ♥Robin♥, Barb is right. I use audible.com for about half of my audiobooks. The others are from the library.

Alert! Since we have so many people who have joined the challenge, Team Members who signed up in the early days of the challenge are disappearing from the Home Page. Never fear, your hyperlinks in Post #3 of this thread will still take you to your view books screen.
Ooops!

I'm going to check them out and probably get the free trial!!!
Thanks LK!!! I know you listen to a lot of audios so I knew you would know lol ☺
I read
and
today and both books were really good. I'm going to start off the pink mini color challenge week with
. I'm hoping for a good ending to that series. :)
Finished
- WOW! What a fantastic book. Worth more than 5 stars and went straight to my favorites shelf! Now starting the much praised
I've been on a bit of a reading tear --- augmented by the discovery of audio books. In the last week, I've finished The Secret Keeper, Time and Again by Jack Finney, Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen, and Tough Shit: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good by Kevin Smith (warning: explicit content). I've read 10 books for the challenge -- and had only committed to 50 for the year. However, I have some long ones coming on the list this month so things should slow considerably.

..."Ah, I haven't heard about this series. You're right it does sound like Eon. I have put it on my TBR list for later. Thanks, it looks like a good read too.
Karen wrote: "I read two blue too Lisa Kay Dance with me and The Hobbit , just forgot to post it .And started Kaleb , blue cover but its a DNF."Karen, what is the name of your bookshelf you have "tagged" for this challenge? I couldn't figure it out. Plus, I don't see those books here , under your "view books" page. Also, the bookcover you selected for The Hobbit is not blue.
